A-list actor 'to play secret Glastonbury set' after clinching Oscar nomination
A major Hollywood star is reportedly set to play a surprise set at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival. The A-List actor, recently nominated for their second Oscar, is not one who had previously revealed musical activity outside their film performances (so no, it's not Gladiator star Russell Crowe, who did Glasto last year with his band). However, since Timothée Chalamet wowed critics and fans alike with his performance as music icon Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown – which was up for eight Academy Awards – this rumour may now come as less of a surprise. According to The Sun, 28-year-old Chalamet is 'likely' to perform away on the Acoustic Stage on Saturday night. The publication claims he will appear alongside Dylan tribute band Not Completely Unknown. Further fuel has been added to the fire of speculation by the fact the Glastonbury website bills the act as appearing 'with special guests'. Fans have also been swayed by the suggestion this could be Chalamet, especially given his love of the 'side quest', such as appearing at his own lookalike competition. On TikTok, @russfestivalfriend also discussed the possibility, with fans in the comments posting: 'I'm very into this theory.' 'Thought the same when I saw the Acoustic Stage lineup! Imagine!' added @cleogreaves540. Chalamet, after singing for 2023 musical movie Wonka, performed Dylan's songs himself for A Complete Unknown, alongside playing the guitar and harmonica – and gaining weight. He also performed over 40 songs live on set for the film's soundtrack – alongside co-stars Edward Norton (Pete Seeger), Boyd Holbrook (Johnny Cash) and Monica Barbaro (Joan Baez) – rather than rely on pre-recorded tracks. 'It was important for me to sing and play live. Because if I can actually do it, why should there be an element of artifice here?' the star explained during a featurette ahead of the film's release. 'And I'm proud that we took that leap.' The Dune star previously performed a selection of Dylan songs on Saturday Night Live in the US alongside musician James Blake. He picked Outlaw Blues, Three Angels and Tomorrow is a Long Time. While he missed out on netting an Oscar for his turn as the Blowin' in the Wind legend, now 83, Chalamet did pick up a SAG award in January, where he revealed he was 'in pursuit of greatness' in terms of his career, name-checking the likes of Marlon Brando, Daniel Day-Lewis and Viola Davis. Dylan himself gave Chalamet his stamp of approval, taking to social media site X with a rare statement to praise him as 'a brilliant actor'. More Trending 'I'm sure he's going to be completely believable as me. Or a younger me. Or some other me,' he added. Elsewhere for Glastonbury this year, Rizzle Kicks accidentally leaked their performance ahead of official announcement during an appearance on Arsenal's YouTube channel (and they're not the only act to do so). Confirmed headliners for this year include The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo, while Charli XCX, Doechii, Kaiser Chiefs, The Libertines and Fatboy Slim will all be taking to the festival's stages as well. Metro has contacted Chalamet's reps for comment. Got a story? Glastonbury fans 'beg for tickets' after Hollywood legend tipped for secret set
Glastonbury Festival fans without a ticket are scrambling after hearing a Hollywood actor is rumoured to perform a secret set at the event, but others are not convinced Glastonbury Festival fans are furious following rumours of a secret set from a Hollywood legend, leaving others green with envy for missing the chance to snag tickets. The current line-up already includes headliners like The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo, but there is a suggestion that a heavyweight of the silver screen may also grace one of the festival's stages. It wouldn't be the first time a film star had made an appearance at Glastonbury Festival, with actor and Oscar-nominated Russell Crowe having previously performed. Now, rumour has it that another acclaimed actor will entertain crowds with cover songs honouring a musician he recently played. Speculation over Timothée Chalamet potentially appearing at the festival has split fans of the festival. His recent appearance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown has already seen Chalamet, 29, appear on stage to cover songs from the legendary artist. He last showed off his musical skills on Saturday Night Live. The social media platform X has seen some fans of the actor horrified that they will not be attending this year's festival. One user dejectedly posted: "Why do I not have a ticket AGAIN." Another added: "The concept of being barricade for Timothée Chalamet." A third wrote: "He heard I was going to Glasto this year." Timothée Chalamet's presence at Glastonbury remains unconfirmed. However, the Mirror previously reported Chalamet is tipped to appear on the Acoustic Stage on Saturday, June 28, as part of the Dylan-inspired ensemble Not Completely Unknown. With speculation flying, the Glasto Thingy, an account known for its posts about Worthy Farm happenings, has hinted that Chalamet's set is unlikely. While fans are divided on whether Chalamet will actually make an appearance this year, the festival itself has confirmed an event celebrating Dylan. The homage to Bob Dylan will be spearheaded by Sid Griffin, as indicated on Glastonbury Festival's official site. The Glasto Thingy noted: "I'm not saying Chalamet definitely is not happening, but from the official site." Some festival-goers are breathing a sigh of relief over the doubt cast on Chalamet's rumoured set, with one commenter hoping against it. They wrote: "Please God, no." Another person agreed, adding: "Great movie, but please, just don't." Chalamet is known for his dedication to portraying Dylan on-screen, having devoted roughly five years to perfecting the role. Though he snagged an Oscar nomination for his portrayal, he lost out to Adrien Brody for 'The Brutalist'. Discussing his immersion into Dylan's character, Chalamet reflected: "I had the time to put the 10,000 hours in, which in a three-month, four-month period you really can't... There wasn't a deadline on it. I wasn't learning for anyone else. I was learning for myself." Following Chalamet's memorable appearance on Saturday Night Live where he performed a Dylan tune, the song 'Tomorrow is a Long Time' enjoyed an "800% spike in listeners", introducing the track to a new legion of fans.

Oscar-nominated actor 'to play Glastonbury set' after unveiling incredible vocals
Timothée Chalamet is reportedly set to play a secret set at Glastonbury Festival 025 following his incredible performance as Bob Dylan Timothée Chalamet is reportedly set to play a secret set at Glastonbury 2025 following his incredible performance as Bob Dylan in A Complete Unknown. After stepping into the iconic shoes of the music icon for a critically acclaimed biopic that stormed awards season, Timothée, 29, turned heads not only for his portrayal but for singing Dylan's classics himself rather than lip-syncing. Now, rumors suggest that Chalamet will be bringing that same raw vocal energy to Glastonbury 2025 - specifically, to an unannounced set that's already buzzing with speculation. The Sun reports that Chalamet is tipped to appear on the Acoustic Stage on Saturday, June 28, as part of the Dylan-inspired ensemble Not Completely Unknown. The listing for the band on Glastonbury's official site hints at 'special guests,' further fueling the whispers. If it happens, it would mark the first time Chalamet has taken his Dylan interpretations into a true live concert setting outside of film promotions. Earlier this year, he performed a small collection of songs on Saturday Night Live with James Blake, kicking off with a full-band rendition of 'Outlaw Blues' (from Bringing It All Back Home, 1965). He then sang 'Three Angels' from New Morning (1970), where Blake joined him, and he wrapped the set with a stripped-back acoustic version of 'Tomorrow Is A Long Time.' This year's Glastonbury lineup boasts major names like The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo. Back in March, organisers confirmed their huge 2025 line-up. It came just hours after social media sleuths managed to find out who was performing and leak an unofficial poster. Later this year, 210,000 music lovers will head to Worthy Farm in Somerset for five days, taking in all of the music as well as everything the festival site has to offer. This year, bosses have confirmed that Glastonbury will run from June 25 to June 29. This year, tickets for Glastonbury sold out in just 35 minutes, despite nobody knowing who was performing. 2025 will be a year to remember for festival goers as bosses had previously confirmed that next year, the festival will take a rest for a fallow year. This year, The 1975, Neil Young and Olivia Rodrigo will headline. Meanwhile, Sir Rod Stewart will play the legends slot, and was the first name to be announced as part of the huge line-up. Sir Rod follows in the footsteps of the likes of Shania Twain, Kylie Minogue and Diana Ross. Previous names that had been speculated for Glastonbury included the likes of Rihanna, Basement Jaxx, Chappel Roan and Stevie Wonder. Organisers had already announced back in January that Neil would headline the Pyramid Stage. He had previously said that he had pulled out of the festival, which he described as a "corporate turn-off". Days later though, Neil said that he would perform at Glastonbury, saying there had been "an error in the information received," and his involvement was also confirmed by organisers around the same time.

Final farewell gig for The Searchers ahead of Glastonbury
Up to now retirement has never been in The Searchers' vocabulary, but they have decided that after three final tours it really is time to hang up the plectrums and drum sticks. The Liverpool legends, who in the golden pop era of the 60s were second only to the The Beatles, return to The Concorde Club on Thursday June 26 for the final gig on their Thank You tour. (Image: Promo image) The following day The Searchers step on the Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury Festival to write the final chapter of a pop story which began nearly 70 years ago. The Concorde has always been a favourite venue for The Searchers, who have toured continually for more than 67 years. Their most famous single remains their 1963 debut Sweets For My Sweet.
