The only thing better than a lifted classic Dodge Power Wagon is a lifted classic Dodge Power Wagon with a Hellcat engine swap. We love trucks and muscle cars, but combining the two doesn't always work out. But with this build, we think the end result is rather glorious.This pickup is a 1971 Dodge Power Wagon the owner says was a retired Air Force truck. Built by Rock Bottom Offroad, they created a custom chassis for this pickup with performance in mind. And to clarify, this works great on the street but is also capable on trails, although probably not on anything too technical.
The Hellcat used in this Dodge was donated by a 2020 Jeep Trackhawk, tuned to make about 750-horsepower. That engine works with an HP95 transmission from a Ram TRX and a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon transfer case. In other words, this thing is a Mopar Frankenstein and it works beautifully, roasting tires and taking on dirt like a pro.
As for the exhaust, it's built on the outside of the frame rails on both sides. The tailpipes are located in front of the rear tires, with everything tucked under the rocker panels for a clean look.
Speaking of trail runs, the differentials come out of a Ford Super Duty but have Yukon aftermarket gears. The suspension is Fox Factory and the hubs are from WARN Industries. The owner says there's about 14 inches of travel in the front and 28 inches in the rear. The whole thing rides on 37-inch tires. In other words, this truck is overbuilt with top-shelf components and should be tough to break.
When it comes to the interior, it's definitely a mixture of old school and modern in a strange twist. There are digital gauges, an old-style steering wheel, leather upholstery, a custom center console with cupholders, plus a cage for the front seats.

Disneyland Autotopia Car Crashes Off The Track
Read the full story on Backfire News One of the cars at the Disneyland Autotopia ride in Anaheim, California went off the track, crashing in the dirt and foliage. We've been on the ride ourselves many times and never imagined such a thing was even possible with all the guardrails and such, but there are photos and video to prove it Disney and theme park aficionado Laughing Place posted the photos and video of the crash aftermath to X. While he was just as shocked as we were, he did note it didn't appear anyone was injured in the freak incident, which is a good thing. After all, we can't have any tragedies in the happiest place on earth, right? While we would think this is a first in the ride's 70 year history, it's apparently not even close. Another X user called The Infernoman who claims to have been at one point a trainer and working lead for the Autotopia ride confirmed this sort of thing has happened in the past. Saying it was 'very rare,' the guy said he has seen a car go completely off the tracks in the past, noting the off-road part of the ride is where it's most likely to occur. He goes on to explain that if one of the cars is hit hard from behind in the area where you make a U-turn, it could in fact get knocked off the track. That might be why workers at the ride emphasize not ramming into the back of the car in front of you. The ride was immediately shut down and everyone in the cars had to get out and walk to the exit with help from employees. Disneyland had the ride up and running again soon after the incident, so whatever happened it must have been an easy fix. This Nash Metropolitan Is Really A Suzuki Samurai
Read the full story on Backfire News People sure are getting creative with body swaps these days, but this Nash Metropolitan on a Suzuki Samurai is unexpectedly cool. Laugh all you want, we know the Jeep bandwagon will, but the Samurai is a respectable rig that won't break the bank. And showing up Wranglers in your Nash Metropolitan-bodied rig would be absolutely never really thought about the fact the Suzuki Samurai is of similar size to a Nash, but now that we do it's not surprising in the least. Back in the day, Nash was making economy cars when people didn't care about fuel consumption and such. They were weird and lacked broad market appeal. The Samurai was similarly mocked back in the late 80s and early 90s. Sure, they weren't fast and they looked like little toys, but it's like people don't realize the original jeeps (before they were a brand name) were made to be small, lightweight, and maneuverable. There are a lot of cool details about this build, like the fact it has a removable fiberglass top so you can enjoy open-air off-roading just like the Jeeps (but the doors say on). There is of course a roll cage, just in case things get a little tipsy. The turquoise and white paint is actually Raptor bed liner, so it can take a beating and not get all scratched up. That same stuff has been applied to the roll cage and the interior surfaces. Even better, the guy who built this has a tow bar and light so it can be towed to a trailhead. We imagine it's not really great on the interstate, but most good off-roaders aren't built for highway cruising anyway. According to the seller, who has this listed on Facebook Marketplace, this rig has won all kind of awards at car shows and has been in parades and such. If you're in the market for a unique off-roader, this could be it. Plus, at $14,500 you're not going to find many cheaper options that aren't riddled with problems. 19-year-old faces car theft charges in Memphis, Nashville
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 19-year-old accused of crimes in Memphis and Nashville is now being held in jail on a $500,000 bond after detectives say he stopped and waved at them while driving a stolen truck. Bryun Watkins is facing theft of property $60,000-$250,000 and vandalism $1,000-$2,500 charges after Memphis Police say he stole a RAM TRX truck last month. Arrest made in gas station shooting that left 2 injured In court, prosecutors say even though the incident was non-violent, Watkins' extensive juvenile record and continued threat to public safety warranted a high bond amount. According to the Shelby County District Attorney's Office, Watkins also has a pending charge in Nashville relating to a separate car theft involving four other suspects. On May 9, detectives say they saw a stolen white Ram TRX in the area of Hollywood Street and Staten Avenue. That is when the detectives say they parked across the street from the location and watched. Shortly afterward, the driver of the stolen vehicle pulled out of the parking lot and parked directly in front of the detective, blocking them in. The driver then waved at the detectives, whom they immediately recognized as Bryun Watkins. They say they also recognized the juvenile sitting in the front passenger seat. Two unknown individuals were also reported in the backseat. Ex-property management employee charged with burglarizing homes As the detectives called for backup, the driver allegedly sped off in the stolen vehicle that had a broken window on the passenger side and no tag. Detectives say they later found the stolen vehicle unoccupied in the area of Lenow Place and Lenow Park. They say the vehicle's ECM has been reprogrammed, causing the owner's keys to no longer function. Waktins was booked into jail on May 30. He is due back in court on June 20.
