'Kannappa': Find out how much Akshay Kumar charged for his role in Vishnu Manchu, Prabhas starrer
Vishnu Manchu's 'Kannappa' hit theatres last Friday and has had a decent opening weekend at the box office. Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the film features some of Indian cinema's biggest names like Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Akshay Kumar in brief roles.
As per a report by 123Telugu, Bollywood's Khiladi, who played the role of Lord Shiva in the film, is reportedly the only star among Prabhas, Mohanlal and R. Sarathkumar who accepted remuneration for his work. As per reports, Akshay was paid a staggering Rs. 10 crore for just five days of shoot. Despite the relatively short screen time of his character, Akshay's presence in the film has been promoted prominently, given his star power and nationwide appeal.
The report also suggests that there were no complaints from the team about this arrangement. Akshay was brought on board at a crucial time, and his professional commitment and instant acceptance of the role without any hesitation reportedly earned him the "special privilege" of a high paycheck.
Earlier, during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Vishnu Manchu revealed that Prabhas and Mohanlal acted in the film without charging a single rupee, purely out of admiration and respect for veteran actor Mohan Babu, who also plays a crucial role in the movie and produced the project under his banner.

Randeep Hooda on why every role feels like his first
Mumbai: Actor-filmmaker Randeep Hooda says acting is never easy as it always carries fear and uncertainty and added that each role is like starting from scratch. Talking about if acting is ever easy for him or does every role still bring a level of fear and uncertainty, Randeep told IANS: 'If you're not uncertain and you're not feeling like, oh my God, this time, I personally, this time they're going to discover that I don't know anything about acting. That is what keeps me on my toes and I really believe that. 'It's always as if I'm doing my first job.' Asked what he believes is more powerful – what the actor says or what the actor doesn't say, Randeep told IANS: 'Whatever you say are just your thoughts. And most of us try to hide our thoughts or don't completely say what we mean.' 'So it is the distance between those. I think speaking is the last form of any communication between two human beings.' On the big screen front, Randeep will next be seen in the epic war drama 'Operation Khukri' lined-up. Randeep has secured the official movie rights to 'Operation Khukri: The Untold Story of the Indian Army's Bravest Peacekeeping Mission Abroad' by Major General Rajpal Punia, and Damini Punia. Kingdom Box Office Collection Day 2: Vijay Deverakonda's actioner nosedives after historic start, earns Rs 7.5 crore
After a thunderous opening at the box office, Vijay Deverakonda's highly anticipated film Kingdom witnessed a significant decline on its second day of release. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 7.5 crore on Day 2, marking a steep drop of approximately 58.33% from its opening day. This brings the film's total two-day collection to Rs 25.5 crore. Despite the drop, the film maintained a respectable overall Telugu occupancy rate of 42.56% on Day 2. It began the day with 27.39% occupancy during morning shows, increased to 38.12% in the afternoon, rose to 43.21% in the evening, and peaked at 61.50% during the night shows. Region-wise, Warangal led with a 69.50% occupancy rate, followed by Mahbubnagar at 56.50%, and Hyderabad at 52.50%. Also Read | Son of Sardaar 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn's comedy struggles with Rs 6.75 crore debut amid poor reviews Kingdom had already surpassed the opening day figures of Vijay's previous film Kushi, but its second-day earnings fell slightly short of Kushi's Day 2 collection of Rs 9.9 crore. However, the strong opening helped Kingdom maintain a lead in cumulative earnings, with its two-day total of Rs 25.5 crore edging past Kushi's Rs 25.15 crore. Interestingly, while Kingdom couldn't outdo Liger's Day 1 numbers, its second-day performance of Rs 7.5 crore helped it overtake Liger's two-day total of Rs 23.4 crore. The drop on Day 2 can be attributed, in part, to it being a working day, along with the film receiving mixed reviews. Additionally, Kingdom is facing stiff competition from other releases, including Mohit Suri's Saiyaara, Ajay Devgn's Son of Sardaar, and Karan Johar's Dhadak 2. All eyes are now on the weekend collections, as Kingdom is being viewed as a potential comeback for Vijay Deverakonda after lukewarm responses to his previous outings, Kushi and Liger.
