Gazza is considered one of the greatest playmakers of all time
Gazza was admitted to an intensive care ward but has now been moved to an acute medical unit where his condition was described as stable.
Steve passed on a message for the Spurs legend and said he was in the "best possible place" as he continues his recovery.
He remains in a hospital near his home, and is expected to stay there for several days for treatment.
Steve Foster said Gazza would 'like to thank everyone for the support he's received so far from so many old friends who wish him well and want to see him back to his best'.
He added: "Paul is in hospital, which is the best possible place for him to be right now.'
Former Spurs, Lazio and Rangers player Gascoigne is seen as one of the greatest playmakers of his generation, with a stellar club and international career.
He was capped 57 times and scored ten goals for the Three Lions between 1988 and 1998.
His tears as England crashed out of the 1990 World Cup in the semi-final against Germany touched the nation and he scored an unforgettable wonder goal at Euro 96.
His latest health scare comes after his company was shut down at the start of July when it failed to file records on time.
Companies House announced the firm has been struck off and dissolved.
Gazza was represented for years by booking agent Katie Davies, but she has now stepped back from involvement in his day-to-day life.
He was notorious for his crazy antics both on and off the field, sometimes fuelled by booze.
Speaking out during 'An Evening With Gascoigne' in Worthing, West Sussex, last year, Gazza explained why he hasn't gone into the jungle for ITV series I'm a Celeb.
He said: 'Well unfortunately right, this is truth to God, I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, the producers wanted me to go on.
'But you had to see a psychiatrist. If you pass the psychiatrist's test, you're in. I failed five f***ing times!
'And to be honest, the first time I went to see her I was on cocaine, so she must have f***ing knew.
'Second time I told her to f*** off. Third time never wanted to f***ing see her again so didn't really go down too well.
'When I say I'd like to go in there…once it starts…f*** me I'm sh*t scared. I hate f***ing snakes cos I met f***ing plenty in my career!
'I suffer from claustrophobia badly. So I'm sometimes glad I give it a miss.'
The football icon was forced to quit the Italian version of the reality TV show after an eventful 38 days on a Caribbean island for the show.
The Rangers legend made a mark on show 'Isola de Famosi' by stripping completely naked while sunbathing in 30C heat on the Caribbean island.
The star was injured as he took part in a trial to win a plate of spaghetti with meatballs and airlifted to hospital by helicopter.

Thierry Henry told he 'deserves' to be next Arsenal manager - 'It would be great'
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has been tipped to manage the club one day by his former France team-mate Louis Saha, who believes he "deserves" the opportunity to prove himself as a coach Thierry Henry has been backed to succeed Mikel Arteta as Arsenal manager one day, with his "unbelievable" football knowledge meaning he "deserves" the opportunity. Henry helped Arsenal win two Premier League titles and three FA Cups as a player. He also won the Champions League and two La Liga titles with Barcelona and the World Cup and Euros with France, before moving into coaching when he retired. Henry has since managed Monaco, Montreal Impact and the France under-21s. He also coached France at the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning a silver medal after they were beaten by Spain in the final. And ex- Manchester United striker Louis Saha believes his former team-mate is now ready for a chance in the Premier League and says it would be "great to see him managing Arsenal". Speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League odds, Saha said: "I would like to see Thierry Henry manage in the Premier League and I think he deserves it. He loves football so much, and lots of other coaches have got opportunities when he hasn't. "Some guys retire and get big Premier League jobs and I don't always understand it. I think Thierry should get an opportunity and he has experience now. "He has improved as a manager and did really well with the French under 21s, despite not lifting the trophy in the end. His knowledge is unbelievable and it would be great to see him managing Arsenal one day." And Henry has previously admitted he would love to take charge of Arsenal, telling FourFourTwo back in 2021: "Listen, if you ask an Arsenal fan if they'd like to coach Arsenal one day, they'll say yes. "If you ask an Arsenal fan if they'd like to score a goal for Arsenal, they'll say yes. When I speak about it, it's a utopia. People get carried away whenever I say that it's my club, but I have it in my blood – I'm an Arsenal fan. "So if you're asking me if one day I'd like to coach Arsenal, then yes. If you ask if one day I'd like to be Arsenal's kit man, then yes. If you ask if one day I'd like to cut the grass at the Emirates Stadium, then yes. "If you ask me am I dreaming, yes I'm dreaming. But when you're not dreaming, you're awake and there is a reality. Would I love to coach Arsenal? Yes. Would I love to go to Barcelona? Yes. Would I like to play for Arsenal again? "I'd love to play for them again, but the reality is I can't! I'm on my learning curve, I want to do well for the team I'm coaching, then time will tell. If you're not successful, you're not going to have those types of opportunities. "I'm just concentrating on what I can control, and the rest is a massive utopia. Would I have liked to sing like Lionel Richie? Yes, but I don't sing like Lionel Richie!" Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Lionel Messi makes statement on controversial MLS ban after Inter Miami heroics
Lionel Messi was forced to cop a one match ban from the MLS and, when he returned to play for Inter Miami, confessed that he needed a half before he was up to speed Lionel Messi admitted that he struggled to find his rhythm in the first half against Atlas on Wednesday night after sitting out Inter Miami 's last outing - claiming he "needs to compete" - before producing in the second-half to help his side land a winning start to their Leagues Cup campaign. Messi had a week off after being hit with a one-game suspension by the MLS and said that while rest may suit some players it wasn't something he needed as it took him 45 minutes to get into his groove. The Argentine eventually came up trumps in the second-half as he laid on both goals for Inter Miami. Telasco Segovia equalised just before the hour mark and Marcelo Weigandt came up with the winner in stoppage time, which was initially ruled out for offside before VAR overturned it. Messi has scored or assisted 21 of Inter Miami's last 27 goals in all competitions, dating back to late May as he continues to be a hugely influential figure for the Florida outfit. He said after the game: "The truth is that it was difficult with the heat, and not having played the other day. Even if [the rest] seems better, for me it's worse because I need to compete. I feel good physically the more matches I play and get into rhythm. The other day they didn't let me compete, and I felt it in the first half, but the important thing is that we won." The World Cup winner watched from the sidelines as Inter Miami held FC Cincinnati to a draw on Saturday. His punishment was sent down by the league's chiefs after he missed the MLS All-Star Game. The Argentine skipped the exhibition clash and, at the time, no reason was given for the league's biggest name not taking part. Since then Inter Miami head coach Javier Mascherano claimed he was fatigued. MLS rules state than anyone who skips the All-Star Game without an injury has to accept a one-match ban. Messi's team-mate Jordi Albawas subjected to the same ban after also bypassing the game. MLS commissioner Don Garber said last week: 'We do have rules, and we have to manage through that as well. We would have loved to have Leo here. We'd love to have every player that was selected for the All-Star team here. After this All-Star Game, we'll figure out what needs to happen. "I was told this morning that neither Jordi nor Messi practiced today (Wednesday). Jordi came off with an injury in last game, and we'll have to manage through what Miami is going to say about that.'
