Royal Cavalry participates in Royal Windsor Horse Show

London: The Royal Cavalry of Oman took part in the third day of the 2025 Royal Windsor Horse Show, under the patronage of King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Head of the Commonwealth, at the grounds of Windsor Castle.
During its participation, the Royal Cavalry showcased Omani music and traditional equestrian arts unique to the Sultanate of Oman. Its riders—both male and female—performed displays of the Ardah gallop and horse calming techniques, while the Royal Cavalry Band played Omani, Arab, and international musical pieces.
The Royal Cavalry began its participation with two horse-drawn carriages carrying the flags of the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom, parading around the showground. Inside each carriage, the riders scattered Omani frankincense across the grounds of Windsor Castle, engaging the audience.
After that, the Royal Cavalry's musical band and mounted riders entered the arena to the tune of "Jewel of the Arabs," followed by musical formations set to Omani pieces such as 'Desert Nights." The riders then formed synchronized movements to the rhythm of "The Distance Has Become One."
The Royal Cavalry Band also performed 'Two Shores and One Song," during which the riders—both mounted and on foot—spelled out the initials "RWHS" (Royal Windsor Horse Show) in formation.
As the riders exited the arena, the band played the famous English tune "Greensleeves," drawing applause and enthusiastic reactions from the crowd.
In this context, Badr bin Mohammed Al Manthari, Oman's Ambassador to the United Kingdom, emphasized that the Royal Cavalry's participation in the 2025 Royal Windsor Horse Show reflects the deep historical ties between Oman and the UK. He noted that such engagements highlight the paramount importance of equestrian sports in Omani identity and contribute to strengthening cultural exchange between the two nations.
For his part, Harry Gothey, Production Director of the Royal Windsor Horse Show, praised the Royal Cavalry's performance, affirming that the Omani display demonstrated exceptional equestrian skills.
