Luxury properties continue to fly off the shelves in Delhi-NCR

This is a representational AI image NEW DELHI: The trend of luxury properties by the trusted companies being lapped up continues in Delhi NCR. India's biggest real estate company, DLF, on Wednesday announced a sellout of its latest luxury offering in Gurgaon — DLF Privana North that has 1,152 four-BHK residences and 12 penthouses across six premium towers rising to a stilt plus 50 storeys, valued at Rs 11,000 crore within just one week. This is incidentally the tallest residential structures developed by DLF to date. Last month, Smartworld Developers and Tribeca Developers had said they had sold all 298 units in their Trump-branded residential project in Gurugram, each costing up to Rs 15 crore. And this March, Gurgaon had set a record when DLF sold 173 apartments worth Rs 11,816 crore in nine weeks at upcoming Dahlias — north India's most expensive soon-to-be-launched condominiums. The interest from NRIs continues to remain strong. In FY 2023, DLF generated $240 million in sales from NRI investors, representing about 14% of total sales. This rose to NRIs lapping up DLF's worth $408 million in FY 2024. And in FY 25, this figure was $421 million. NRI buyers have accounted for 25% of sales in DLF Privana South (around $216.1 million), 27.8% in DLF Privana West ($180 million), and 14% in The Dahlias. About Privana North sellout, DLF Home Developers' joint MD and chief business officer Aakash Ohri said: 'The strong sales response reflects a clear, latent demand for DLF offerings, driven by the success of our past projects. We saw interest from buyers across India and around the world.' Stay informed with the latest business news, updates on bank holidays and public holidays . AI Masterclass for Students. Crude surge pressures India's FY25 CAD target, UBI says every $10 rise in oil may widen deficit by $15 billion, FY26 gap seen at 1.2% of GDP

India's current account deficit (CAD) faces upward pressure in FY25 amid rising global crude prices, with every $10 per barrel increase in oil potentially worsening the annual CAD by $15 billion, according to a report by Union Bank of India (UBI). The bank has retained its CAD forecast at 0.9% of GDP for FY25, but cautioned that commodity price trends, particularly in crude oil and metals, pose a marginal upside risk. CAD is projected to widen to 1.2% of GDP in FY26, the report said. 'We see a marginal upward risk to our estimate for the current account (C/A) deficit for FY25 GDP. We continue to maintain our view of widening in C/A deficit in FY26 to 1.2% in GDP vis-a-vis an estimated 0.9% in FY25,' UBI said, quoted ANI. Over the past month, Brent crude has traded between $64 and $76 per barrel, and has risen 14% in the last 15 days amid intensifying geopolitical tensions. The report flagged this trend as a key factor that could significantly impact India's trade deficit and external sector health. UBI noted that while global commodity prices remain a key risk, weak global demand and sluggish export growth may soften the blow to the overall trade balance. However, it warned that any further escalation in Middle East tensions could strain India's import bill, given the CAD's high sensitivity to oil prices. On the positive side, India's invisible surplus — led by services exports — remains robust. The country posted a services trade surplus of $188.75 billion in FY25, which helped offset a $122.45 billion oil trade deficit, the report noted. UBI also pointed out that geopolitical developments, including tariff actions and any new trade agreements with the US or Europe, will influence India's external sector outlook in the coming quarters. Croatia endorsed India's approach, expressed solidarity on Pahalgam attack, says Indian Envoy

Zagreb [Croatia], June 18 (ANI): India's Ambassador to Croatia, Arun Goel, has said that Croatians expressed shock when the dastardly Pahalgam terror attack happened and expressed solidarity towards India. Noting that India offers multiple options to Croatia, he said that the visit by PM Modi would further strengthen the ties between the two nations. In an interview with ANI, Ambassador Goel said, 'Croatia itself experienced terrorism, fundamentalism and extremism. When the Pahaglam episode happened, we were shocked. I got messages from several Croatians on my phone. They expressed solidarity with us. India's measured and restrained response through Operation Sindoor was appreciated by all Croatians. If you talk to anybody on the street, you will find Croatians endorsing India's approach. They are solidly with India. They are a reliable support'. He said that this is the kind of support needed globally to counter terrorism. Speaking about the Indo-Pacific and how India is a great partner for Croatia across several fronts, the Ambassador said, 'In the Indo-Pacific, there are various other areas when we look at the whole region in terms of its prosperity. Currently, it's a scenario of a single choice. Single choice leads to fewer options and dependability. India is going to offer various options in different domains'. He listed the areas such as space-based applications, telecom, digital interfaces and infrastructure, and healthcare centres. Noting that in the current unstable times, Croatia is looking for new partners, India offers great incentives. 'The people of Croatia have long long-lasting relationship with the people of India in terms of experiencing, enjoying and loving Indian culture, Indian ethos, and Indian spiritualism. Whichever Croatian companies are working in India, they have had positive experience, and they are looking for expansion and vice versa. The Indian companies working in Croatia are also finding it positive. Indian migrant workers here are finding it positive. So I feel that whether on a person-to-person basis or organisation to organisation, there is a connectivity, and now this is going to take a big boost with the visit of the Prime Minister. In that context, India offers multiple choices beyond a single choice. That's how I look at the Indo-Pacific angle.' Speaking about the trade ties between the two countries, Ambassador Goel said, 'If we look at the current trade numbers between India and Croatia, although it growing year to year, as of today, the Croatian exports are 27 billion dollars and they are exporting to India just 70 million dollars which is 0.26%. Croatia is importing goods and services worth 47 billion dollars, and they are importing from India just 380 million dollars, which is 0.67%. The scope of growth in trade in both directions between India and Croatia is immense. Currently, India is the 4th largest economy in the world and will very soon be the third. That can be possible only if our exports increase manifold, in that the EU is crucial to us.' He noted that as the India-EU FTA is already under negotiations, and with Croatia as a member of the EU, Schengen Zone, 'this visit will help us find a partner through whom we'll be able to find a balanced and more favourable FTA with the EU'. At the invitation of the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic, PM Modi will be making an official visit to Croatia on June 18. This will be the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Croatia, marking an important milestone in the bilateral relationship. (ANI)
