
TCL TVs and speakers will support Dolby FlexConnect this summer
FlexConnect allows users to connect their TV with specialized external speakers that can be placed anywhere in a room, providing Atmos-enabled audio without requiring a symmetrical setup. The feature aims to provide an alternative solution to installing a traditional surround-sound system, which can be restricted by room size, outlet locations, and mounting or cabling requirements.
The TCL TVs and wireless speaker are the first devices with FlexConnect support to be announced for the US, with the Z100 having already launched in China for CN¥1,499 (about $208). US pricing has not been confirmed yet. TCL says that up to four Z100 speakers can be connected to supporting FlexConnect TVs in the US 'starting this summer.'
The concept is similar to other wireless Dolby Atmos products like the $2,500 Sony Bravia Theater Quad, but it should be considerably more affordable. Also, while the Theater Quad is only available in gray, the Z100 comes in gray, teal, and beige finishes, which may be easier to coordinate with your home decor.

Buffalo Bills quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Josh Allen continues to see his star grow off the field. This week, the candy bar brand Snickers released its newest ads in its long-running "you're not you when you're hungry" campaign. And they feature a familiar face. In the first commercial entitled "Bedtime", Allen, who was announced as a spokesman for the candy company in June, is seen while in full uniform and pads and sitting in a racecar bed, reading bedtime stories peppered with fantasy football references by a hungry father. A second commercial for Snickers ice cream, called 'Construction,' features Allen as a construction worker chatting with another worker on the construction site who's distracted thinking about the Bills' next game. An offering of a Snickers proves to be the remedy in both cases. Fans can watch both commercials via social media, on YouTube, streaming and digital, social media, and on broadcast TV channels through the end of the upcoming NFL season. In addition to the commercials, Allen is featured on limited-edition Snickers and Snickers ice cream packs. The Bills quarterback will also be sharing halftime hacks on the candy bar's website. Buffalo's star quarterback will share 'hunger-busting tips' starting on September 4. Snickers will be offering chances to win prizes along with the halftime hacks, including a trip to Super Bowl LX. 'I've always been a fan of Snickers, so putting my name – and my game – on these packs is a win,' said Allen this summer in a partnership promotional statement with Snickers. 'Whether you're taking the field or taking your fantasy line-up to victory, Snickers has your back when hunger strikes.'
