Brendan Rodgers provides injury update on Celtic duo
He took a break from his rehab to meet up with his teammates at their pre-season training base in Portugal this week.
Rodgers was delighted to see the 26-year-old but admits he has got a long road ahead of him.
He said: "Yes, he's coming along really well. I think we obviously sent him back to assess his fitness here and be with his family.
"And yes, the progress has come along really well.

"I think the first 12 weeks of that injury, it's important that you get to a point where you can, in the nine to 12 weeks, that you're able to straighten it.
"So he can do that. He was in the gym. So yes, he's coming along well. Long, long way to go. But it's good to see him."
Goalkeeper Schmeichel sat out of the friendly against Estrela Da Amadora after being a late arrival to pre-season training. But Rodgers says he will be available for the next game against Sporting Lisbon
He added: "Yes, again, he's only sort of met up with us at the beginning of the week.
"So we'll just get him moving again, he missed today, and then be available for the next game."
