Team India on Thursday was hit with a fresh injury concern. Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh sustained a cut on his bowling hand during a net session in Manchester, India's assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate told reporters.
The incident occurred when Arshdeep attempted to stop a shot from Sai Sudharsan during his follow-through. The medical team examined the 26-year-old after training to assess whether stitches would be necessary.

'We have to see how bad the cut is,' said ten Doeschate.
'Obviously, the medical team is taking him to see a doctor. And whether he needs stitches or not is going to be important to our planning for the next few days,' he added.

Although Arshdeep is yet to make his Test debut, he was being considered as a potential replacement if the team opted to rest a frontline pacer for the fourth Test in Manchester.
Ten Doeschate also hinted that the team combination for the Old Trafford Test now hinges on the severity of Arshdeep's injury.
'We'll take a call on the combination we play,' he said.
'Particularly given the Arshdeep situation as well, we'll make that call closer to Manchester,' he added.
The fourth Test between India and England will be played at Old Trafford in Manchester, starting July 23.

Shaquille O'Neal's Son Shareef O'Neal Reveals His Favorite NBA Idol and It Is Not His HOFer Father

Shaquille O'Neal and his son Shariff O'Neal (Image via Getty) At the 2025 ESPYs, Shareef O'Neal—son of NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal —made headlines with a refreshingly honest revelation: his favorite NBA player isn't his father. In a lighthearted and candid interview, Shareef revealed that LeBron James holds the top spot in his basketball heart, followed by Kobe Bryant , with Shaq himself coming in third. Though some fans may have been surprised by the ranking, Shareef O'Neal's explanation came with good humor and no family drama. According to Shareef, his father has never had an issue with it. In fact, Shaquille O'Neal supported his son's admiration for these all-time greats by personally introducing him to both Kobe Bryant and LeBron James over the years. Considering the impact both LeBron James and Kobe Bryant have had on the sport—and on Shareef O'Neal's growth as a player—the ranking makes sense. Shareef grew up during the peak of LeBron's career and saw firsthand the brilliance of Kobe Bryant. Shaquille O'Neal, meanwhile, famously played alongside both players: winning three consecutive championships with Kobe on the Lakers (2000–2002) and teaming up with LeBron during the 2009–2010 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Shaq and LeBron in the Cavaliers (Image via Getty) In a memorable moment from his childhood, Shareef O'Neal even attended his father's games while wearing a LeBron James jersey, a clear sign of the genuine admiration he's held for the NBA superstar since a young age. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like How to Trade ETH/USD Without Holding Ether IC Markets Learn More Undo While navigating his own basketball journey—with stints at UCLA and LSU and workouts with teams like the Lakers—Shareef has openly cited LeBron's leadership and dominance as major influences. Despite the weight of his father's legacy, Shareef O'Neal is determined to chart his own path, shaped by those who inspired him most on the court. His comments at the ESPYs offer a unique window into the mindset of a second-generation athlete—one who honors his roots but also embraces his own heroes. By ranking LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Shaquille O'Neal in that order, Shareef shows that appreciation in basketball can transcend bloodlines, focusing instead on personal growth, respect, and greatness. Soccer-France coach Bonadei not focused on penalties despite England's wild shootout win

BASEL, Switzerland, July 18 (Reuters) - France coach Laurent Bonadei has not given much focus to penalty kicks ahead of his team's quarter-final clash with Germany at Euro 2025 on Saturday, despite the wild shootout between England and Sweden on Thursday. HT Image Reigning champions England reached the semi-finals after squeezing past Sweden in an error-filled shootout. "We worked a lot on (penalties) before the 2023 World Cup in a specific way, and this time, I preferred not to overload them with this too much, because we don't know how it happens," Bonadei told reporters. "Last night, we saw players who were really under pressure. And, yes, you can actually put them under pressure during the training, but it's not the same as during the game. When it's the game, when they are tired, when there's a pressure of the audience, maybe it can be completely different. "The players do it in an individual way with their own pace at the end of every session, sometimes they try two, three, four, or five penalties, but it's very difficult to recreate the context of the game." France poured in 11 goals from nine different scorers in their three group games to establish themselves as one of the best attacking teams at Euro 2025. France captain and defender Griedge Mbock is set to return against Germany after being sidelined for a month with a calf injury, and said she is not nervous about kicking off her European campaign in what is sure to be an intense quarter-final. "I'm not scared. I trust my co-players, and I know that even within the pace, I haven't played for one month, but I know that my teammates will be able to help me and to fill the gap, any gap, if I have a lack of pace," she said. "We are a collective and I'm lucky because I'm in this collective sport and I can count on my co-players. This is a real plus. No, I'm not really scared."
