Who is representing Great Britain at Eurovision 2025?
The Sun exclusively revealed in February 2025 that the UK would be represented at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest by girl group Remember Monday.
Made up of members Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele, the country-pop trio may be new to Eurovision, but this isn't the first time they've performed on a big stage.
The girl band performed in front of Olly Murs, Will.i.am, Jennifer Hudson and Sir Tom Jones when they took part in The Voice 2019.
Remember Monday has also performed at several major UK events including Country to Country, The Long Road and Buckle and Boots.
They previously supported Billy Joel and Natasha Beddingfield on tour — before embarking on their very own UK tour.
Joining Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2, band member Lauren Bryne explained: "We met at sixth form college a few years ago and, essentially, we always had free periods on a Monday which is when we just used to get together and sing.
Lauren continued: ''That turned into us singing every single day of the week and not going to our classes and our teacher used to come and find us in random spare classrooms and knock on the door and be like, 'Girls are you coming into class today?' and we were like, 'No Jenny, we're just going to stay in here, sorry!'
"So we did that for years and years and it kind of became a little in joke that it was always happening on a Monday so that's where Remember Monday was born and, yeah, about a year and a bit ago, we packed in the day job and went full time and it's going OK! [laughs]. Here we are.''

EXCLUSIVE Ncuti Gatwa spoke at pro-Palestine rally outside Parliament just days after sudden on-screen exit as Doctor Who

As the BBC 's Doctor Who, Ncuti Gatwa came under fire when he mysteriously pulled out of his Eurovision hosting duties moments after Israel qualified last month. Now it can be revealed that three days after the actor departed Doctor Who, he spoke at a pro-Palestine demonstration outside parliament. On 3 June, the actor, 32, stood in front of a banner reading ' Gaza: Actions Not Words' and delivered a speech to hundreds of people at the Westminster event, organised by Choose Love – a charity that this week supported Greta Thunberg 's 'selfie yacht' trip to Gaza. Gatwa had withdrawn from his role as a Eurovision Grand Final spokesman just 18 days before his speech at the rally. It has prompted renewed speculation as to his motivation for pulling out of the role and whether the BBC was aware that he would do so if Israel qualified. He had been due to announce the UK jury's points during the live broadcast but was replaced at short notice by singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor, 46. The BBC made the change public only two minutes after Israel qualified for the final – prompting speculation that his withdrawal was a protest. The broadcaster cited 'unforeseen circumstances' as the reason. The timing raised eyebrows, as Israel's contestant, Yuval Raphael – a survivor of the October 7 Nova music festival attack – secured her place in the final that same evening. Gatwa has previously expressed support for the Palestinian cause on social media, sharing images of 'Free Palestine' graffiti and promoting fundraising campaigns. The Rwanda-born, Scotland-raised actor made history as the first Black actor to lead Doctor Who, taking on the role of the Fifteenth Doctor in 2023. However, his tenure ended after just two series, making him the second shortest-serving Doctor in the show's history – only Christopher Eccleston's single-series run was shorter. Gatwa's departure was announced in May 2025, when his character regenerated into Rose Tyler played by Billie Piper, 42, ending his 18-month stint in the Tardis. One attendee at the Westminster rally told the Mail: 'He actually read out the names of deceased Palestinian children from his mobile. 'Ncuti appears unaware that, despite his support for Palestine, he could face serious risks in parts of the Middle East. Given the timing – coming so soon after the Eurovision controversy and his abrupt departure from Doctor Who – his appearance may reflect a belief that his position at the BBC had become untenable.' He was joined at the rally by comedian Alexei Sayle and his former Doctor Who co-star Varada Sethu. Sethu, 33, who played companion Belinda Chandra in Doctor Who, who left the sci-fi show at the time as Gatwa, also spoke at the rally.

‘Raw' thriller with unbelievable twist shoots to the top of Netflix chart

A 'powerful' new thriller has stormed to the top of the Netflix charts, claiming more than 25million views in just a few days. Written, directed and produced by Alex Cross star Tyler Perry, Straw follows a single mother who becomes embroiled in a sequence of terrible and violent events as she struggles to care for her ill daughter. Oscar-nominee Taraji P Henson leads the cast alongside Teyana Taylor, Jingle All the Way actor Sinbad, and Precious actress Sherri Shepherd. The movie was added to the streaming platform on June 6 and it didn't take long for fans to watch it in their droves – as it has dominated the global charts. Straw currently commands the top spot with more than 25.3m views in the last seven days, and over 45.5m hours watched. It beat out stiff competition from the Now You See Me franchise, the Bee Movie, M3GAN and Nonnas for the top slot. Wrath of the Titans, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish and the Wild Robot also make up the list. Emerging to strong word of mouth from audiences, the film has been described as one of Tyler's best films to date – admittedly, this mixed-bag of a catalogue does include his Madea and Mrs Brown's Boys crossover. Viewers were particularly vocal about the 'heartbreaking' ending – which featured a twist to the tale which will ensure it won't be forgotten in a hurry. After watching, fans took to social media to share their thoughts on what they had just witnessed. 'Straw is such a humbling movie. The rawness was so real and the plot twist was crazy,' she_mego wrote on X. 'What a walk through emotions @tylerperry's Straw. The plot twist at the end wallowed me up. A good watch indeed!' sandra_buma agreed. 'After watching Straw, I no longer know how my heart is feeling. When what gave you purpose is suddenly gone. It speaks to a pain that's hard to name. Raw, emotional, and deeply human. Kudos to the writer… truly outdone,' david_harris_r said. 'Tyler Perrys Straw absolutely incredible I literally cried blown away! [sic]'MelisaWhiskey added. Critics also heaped praise on Taraji, with Screen Rant describing her performance as 'an acting masterclass.' 'Straw has a cultural pulse-taking urgency that lifts it above [Tyler Perry's] usual run of comedies and melodramatic potboilers, flawed as it is,' Dennis Harvey of Variety wrote. Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly described the film's emotions as 'so raw and the performances are so earnest that you've really got to have a heart of stone not to care for these people.' Award-winning Taraji previously starred in hit movies The Color Purple and Hidden Figures, as well as iconic series Empire. Her performance in the film comes two years after she spoke out on the issue of inequality in pay for Hollywood's women of colour. 'I'm just tired of working so hard, being gracious at what I do, getting paid a fraction of the cost,' she told Gayle King on SiriusXM Radio. 'I'm tired of hearing my sisters saying the same thing over and over. You get tired. I hear people go, 'You work a lot.' I have to – the math ain't mathing. 'And when you start working a lot, you have a team. Big bills come with what we do. We don't do this alone. The fact that we're up here, there's a whole entire team behind us. They have to get paid. 'When you hear people saying, 'Oh, such and such made $10m.' That didn't make it to their account. Know that off the top, Uncle Sam is getting 50%. Do the math. 'Now we have $5m – your team is getting 30% off of what you gross, not after what Uncle Sam took. Now do the math.' As the interview went viral, fans and peers in the acting community shared messages of support. 'Not a damn lie told. Not. A. Damn. Lie. We go TO BAT for the next generation and hell even our own generation and above,' Gabrielle Union cheered in response. 'We don't hesitate to be the change that we all need to see AND it takes a toll on your mind, health, soul, and career if we're keepn it [100]. [Love] u @tarajiphenson. [sic]' More Trending 'We feel you, @tarajiphenson and we love you. It's a fight we ALL are waging,' Community star Yvette Nicole Brown agreed. 'For ourselves and for the ones coming up after us. This mess sucks!' This article was first published on June 8. Straw is now streaming on Netflix. Got a story? Ex-Top of the Pops presenter walked away from fame as she shares heartbreaking fear

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Sarah Cawood was once one of the most prominent TV hosts of the 90s, and was a key presenter on Top of The Pops. But her life has changed dramatically two decades after her rise to fame. Sarah's first major break came in the '90s when she worked on children's TV for Nickelodeon. Two years later, she secured a presenting role on Channel 4's The Girlie Show, alongside Sara Cox. The show, which ran for two series, followed a magazine-style format, featuring interviews, live music, and stunts. The programme aired at the late 'post-pub' slot of 11pm on Fridays, positioning itself as edgier than its competitors and capitalising on the 'ladette' culture that defined the decade. Sarah then joined the revamped Live and Kicking programme for its final two years on air. (Image: BBC) Her most significant role came with Top of The Pops. After her tenure ended, she went on to present various mini-series and one-off shows, including co-commentating the Eurovision semi-finals in 2007, 2009, and 2010, reports the Daily Record. However, around this time, many of the high-profile presenting opportunities began to dwindle. In 2014, Sarah joined Heart East Anglia's breakfast show team for a year before stepping back to focus on caring for her children. Earlier this year, the star opened up about her health struggles on social media, expressing concerns about her breast cancer returning. She was initially diagnosed in 2022, underwent successful treatment, and was given the all-clear. (Image: sunday mirror) She opened up to her followers about the lingering anxiety of cancer returning. In an open Instagram message, she said: "This is the reality of anyone who has had any kind of cancer. "I never struggled with health anxiety before but post-breast cancer it's all-consuming and it wears me out a bit tbh. I have been feeling tired since the new year began and although it's probably just life-ing, there's always a niggling worry that it's back. "All I can do is carry on doing healthy things, moving my body, practising mindfulness and living each day with gratitude that I got to breathe again this morning. So on we go! Batting away those intrusive thoughts and getting on with it. (Image: ITV) "To anyone either going through a cancer diagnosis or anyone who has recovered from cancer and feels like this: I've got you, and my inbox is always open. And remember, anything that doesn't feel right: get it checked out. Early detection is key." She also took a moment to reflect on her career in television, saying she'd come to terms with no longer being in the limelight. In another heartfelt post, she remarked: "Do I miss telly? I miss the money! And yes, sometimes I wonder what went wrong, but I'm here now so I'm going to make the most of it, however, that looks".
