Expect More of Benjamin Bratt's Bail Organa Next Week, Says Andor Creator
There was a lot of buzz about Benjamin Bratt replacing Jimmy Smits as Bail Organa in Andor , and after the recent episode drop, some fans are wondering why he would show up for just a small cameo. As it turns out, the series has bigger plans for him.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Tony Gilroy confirms that Bratt's main role as a representative of Alderaan hasn't come yet, and they made him appear earlier so fans could 'get it out of their system' by the time he takes the center stage. Gilroy explains:
'I put him in episode 6 in an arbitrary way so people will get the conversation out of the way until the next week when he really starts to work. It's one of those situations where I want to do something simple. We don't do many things that are unnecessary, but it's like, 'Let's get him in here now so people can discuss it for a week and get it out of their system and then he can come back to really work.' I didn't want the guy's work to be confused with his introduction.'
Though he only had a small cameo this week, Bail Organa is set to make an appearance at the Senate, and this will probably be around the time we should expect Mon Mothma to make a public claim of renouncing the Emperor which she does in Rebels.
Since this is Andor though, I'm sure they're going to give her a different speech that captures the same message for Star Wars fans.
Admittedly, it's a shame that Bail can't be reprised by Smits for a show that's actually critically acclaimed, but I think Bratt's doing a fine job—even for just the small appearance he's had so far.
Catch the next arc for Andor when it comes out next week.

Star Wars Jedi Dev Says Morale is ‘At An All-Time Low' After Recent Layoffs
The gaming industry is kind of at a crossroads with several layoffs happening across multiple studios, and the most recent victim was EA with several devs getting laid off. With EA Games choosing to focus on only a few of their successful franchises, one dev for Star Wars Jedi , Patrick Wren, had commented after the recent layoffs, 'Morale has been at an all-time low. I can say that much.' He follows up the post by saying, ' I am just sorry for everyone who just wants to make cool video games in this industry.' It's odd that the morale for a Star Wars title would be so low right now, seeing that there's been a massive resurgence for 2017's Star Wars Battlefront II which has been reporting record numbers and the biggest number of players since it launched. Live support for the game had ended back in 2020, but so many people have been livestreaming the game, and have been calling for #MakeBattlefront3. After the recent layoffs at EA though, some think that it won't be happening with the studio. On the flip side, the discussion has now shifted over as to which studio would like to take on the Battlefront mantle after BF2. Though no specifics have been explained about the recent layoffs, Wren also did share a post that seems to blame AI for the whole fiasco. Ed Zitron wrote: Here is actually what is happening: braindead management is pushing AI wherever it can, launching it, laying off some people, then realising it can't replace them, then hiring back *less* people than before. AI is used as a soft layoff excuse to dress up flagging growth. — Ed Zitron (@ May 29, 2025 at 3:49 AM We don't know for sure what's going to happen to Jedi 3 , but seeing as it's one of the most popular games to come out for EA, some are guessing it will be their last SW title for now. No release date has been announced for Star Wars Jedi 3 .

Ex-Star Wars Battlefront II Dev has an 5-6-Year Plan on How to Get BF3 Made
Ever since the Andor finale, there has been an interesting thing happening with Star Wars Battlefront II in that fans have been making an online campaign for someone, anyone to #MakeBattlefront3. While some fans think that it could be a long shot, a former developer actually has an idea on how they can realistically build-up to a Battlefront 3 with minimal risk and the right development team. As pointed out by @A7ZATRU, someone on the Battlefront II subreddit claiming to be a former dev has pitched that they don't make a Star Wars Battlefront 3 immediately, but instead release a remastered version of Battlefront II instead. A former Star Wars Battlefront 2 developer has shared a plan for Battlefront 3 and success. – Remaster BF2 with improvements for PS6/next Xbox in 2027/28, – If it does well, make BF3 using knowledge from it. Also, some of the devs WANT to come back! — AZZATRU (@A7ZATRU) May 22, 2025 They write: 'Hear me out — no Battlefront 3 right now, but Battlefront 2 remaster for whatever future console is arriving in 2027-2028. Dev time is around 2-3 years. There is a laundry list of improvements that this game could get in my opinion, and getting it updated was always on our wishlist. Once that is a success, then start work on 3. You have a team familiar with engine, assets, and really could kick of developing a 3 within a much shorter time span, and working on feedback from a fresh Battlefront 2 audience base. This would be a 5-6 year plan, but it's more likely to be a success.' Judging by the success of remasters like the recently released Oblivion , it would make sense for Star Wars Battlefront II to get the upgrade treatment. After all, Lucasfilm Games has been focusing on a lot of remasters of older titles (like the original Battlefront II ), and with the recent surge of Battlefront II , it would be a worth a shot to see how viable a new BF project would be. I mean, if Naughty Dog can re-release The Last of Us a million times, EA DICE can stand to make some money off a game that still gets a lot of positive buzz from fans and the community. With Battlefront II also covering three Star Wars eras, there's a lot of room for expansions based on new shows like Skeleton Crew, The Mandalorian , and the recently applauded Andor . We don't know what Lucasfilm Games wants to do now, but a lot are trying to make as much noise as they can about Battlefront 3 while the game has this new momentum. Check out Star Wars Battlefront II now playable for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Andor Showrunner on Why Recent Marvel Projects Fail
Tony Gilroy has been in the center of the spotlight ever since the finale of Andor , and while everyone wants to know what his takes on Star Wars are, some are curious about what he thinks of Disney's other big franchise—the MCU. In a recent talk with /Film, Gilroy talks about how the first pitches for Andor were actually like Marvel films, to which he says: 'Trying to get the, what do they call it? I can't remember the name of the box. What the f*** is the name of the box in 'The Avengers'? What the f*** are they going for? […] The Tesseract! That's why all those Marvel movies are all — that's why they fail. You're just constantly … if that's all you're doing, then all you're doing is just trying to get the Tesseract.' For some added context, when Andor was first brought to Gilroy, it was more of an adventure of the week series with Cassian and K-2SO. Gilroy then took the concept, gave it his own anti-fascist spin, and was then allowed to make the show that we eventually got. Admittedly, Marvel has been in kind of a rut, and while Thunderbolts* has been doing well on terms of buzz, it isn't exactly doing the same kinds of numbers that Marvel had been used to during its Infinity Saga run. And even when Thunderbolts* did feel unique in terms of story, there was still the McGuffin (Bob) and the team still had to get together to stop/save/posses/control it. Who knows, maybe there's room now for more experimental Marvel projects moving forward, but something wilder with the storytelling; not something like Eternals (sorry Chloe Zhao).
