Aaron Rodgers says DK Metcalf influenced his decision to join Steelers
DK Metcalf is one of the most exciting Steelers acquisitions this offseason — but he apparently helped bring a certain four-time MVP to the Steel City.
On Tuesday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, new Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers revealed that Metcalf — and his work ethic — played a role in getting him to Pittsburgh:
"DK is a lead-by-example guy,' Rodgers said. 'He's a big reason I'm in Pittsburgh as well — conversations that we had and just the kind of person that he is. At the start of the year, I didn't really know DK at all. He's like, 'I work out at six a.m. every day.' I'm like, okay, this guy has discipline, this guy has a drive. I said, 'How about eight o'clock because I'm gonna have to drive from Malibu to UCLA?' He said, 'Yeah, that's fine.' He's not just a specimen, but he's a really solid human being. He's a solid, solid dude, and he leads by example.'
It's this apparent 'lead-by-example' attitude from Metcalf — coupled with Rodgers' admiration of HC Mike Tomlin — that helped piece together the exciting QB-WR duo in Pittsburgh.

Wisconsin football top 2026 target announces finalists, commitment date
Wisconsin football top class of 2026 target, athlete Jackson Ford, announced his final four schools and upcoming commitment date on Tuesday. Ford will announce his collegiate decision on Friday, June 27. He will be choosing between the Wisconsin Badgers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Michigan Wolverines and Penn State Nittany Lions. 247Sports lists Ford as a four-star recruit. He's specifically ranked as the No. 306 overall player in the class of 2026, the No. 18 athlete and the No. 8 player from his home state of Pennsylvania. The athlete, who will likely play edge rusher at the college level, took official visits to Wisconsin on May 30, Penn State on June 6, Ohio State on June 13 and Michigan on June 20. The recruiting service has yet to release a crystal ball for the top prospect's decision. On3 sees a tight race, giving Penn State a 27.6% chance to land his commitment, Michigan 20.8%, Ohio State 12% and Wisconsin 10%. Ford's recruitment is close to a must-win for the Badgers. The program's class currently ranks No. 51 nationally with 13 commitments. Notably, the class has now gone 10 days without a new addition. Ford is one of several top targets from Wisconsin's May 30 official visit weekend who remain uncommitted, along with four-star running back Amari Latimer, four-star wide receiver Jayden Petit and four-star offensive tackle Kamari Blair. The final verdict on the Badgers' 2026 class, which is currently without a blue-chip player, will depend on landing several of those top recruits. Class of 2026 defensive lineman chooses a Big Ten rival over Wisconsin, Indiana
Committed!!#BoilerUp #HammerDown 🚂 Class of 2026 defensive lineman Kobe Cherry committed to Purdue on Monday. The three-star recruit chose the Boilermakers over other finalists Indiana and Wisconsin. His offer sheet also included Louisville, Minnesota, Toledo and Washington. 247Sports ranks Cherry as the No. 1,357 player in the class of 2026, the No. 147 defensive lineman and the No. 21 recruit from the state of Indiana. The 6-foot-5 lineman only took an official visit to Purdue. Notably, the in-state Boilermakers had long been the prohibitive favorites to land his commitment. He joins a Purdue class of 2026 that now ranks No. 35 nationally with 18 players committed. That class recently surpassed the Badgers' group (No. 51) in the national rankings. That movement has occurred as Wisconsin has gone 10 days without a commitment. The Badgers do already have two defensive linemen pledged to the class: Djidjou Bah and Arthur Scott. Bah's status is worth monitoring, however, as he recently took an official visit to Missouri. Wisconsin may be tasked with extra work to retain his commitment.
