In the Summer 2025 print issue of Goldmine, all the surviving members of the original Alice Cooper group chime in on their special reunion! Frontman Alice Cooper, bassist Dennis Dunaway, drummer Neal Smith, guitarist Michael Bruce, producer Bob Ezrin and newcomer guitarist Gyasi are interviewed about their new studio album, The Revenge of Alice Cooper.
The new album will satisfy most Cooper fans who grew listening to the classic 1970s albums — Love It to Death (1971), Killer (1971), School's Out (1972), Billion Dollar Babies (1973) and Muscle of Love (1973). There is even a posthumous guitar appearance by Glen Buxton on The Revenge of Alice Cooper.
When asked if their was any awkwardness getting back together in the studio, the band didn't hesitate answering.
"Honestly," Alice Cooper told Goldmine, "once we got in the studio, everything just kind of flowed. It's almost mysterious how this album just turned out the way we wanted it to turn out. And honestly, we didn't even know how it was gonna turn out. Everything fell into place."
"I think it's kind of like a marriage," said Michael Bruce. "You fall in love with someone and maybe things don't work out, and you start to get back together, and you remember things you loved doing with that other person — it's kind of like that. It never goes away, and you have that longing, longing to reconnect. That was definitely in play with the band."
"Getting back together in the studio," said bassist Dennis Dunaway, "there's no catching up; we just continue as we did back then, using the same approach. Everybody has the same specialties that we all do. And it was a full collaboration. There was nobody making a final say. It was all of us listening to everybody's suggestions and then jumping on whichever one we all thought was the best."
"I think it's kind of like a marriage," said Alice Cooper guitarist Michael Bruce. "You fall in love with someone and maybe things don't work out, and you start to get back together, and you remember things you loved doing with that other person."
Producer Bob Ezrin said, "I would say that the moment where we all felt that this had to happen would've been during the recording of Detroit Stories in February of 2021. That spirit just carried on into this project. We already started talking about it back then, and we started listening to songs and talking to each other about what kind of music we wanted to do, and where we wanted to do it, so we just picked up the conversation where we'd left it the last time we were in the studio together."
"Bob Ezrin was key in it," added drummer Neal Smith. "It makes a huge difference, because Bob is like a member of the band and to have him involved in it was a key part. It was as important as Michael's songwriting, and Dennis and I as a rhythm section and songwriters. Those are key elements of what the group was all about. With Bob Ezrin recording it and putting it all together, it was a natural evolution for us.

What was really special about that is, that is when I started and I started launching Mananalu," he continues, referring to the reusable bottled water company he launched in 2019. Gamers Have Scared EA Away From An $80 ‘Battlefield 6'

We will learn a whole lot more about Battlefield 6 today in a reveal event, which EA is hoping will finally be a legitimate competitor to Call of Duty after being dormant a while, and its past 2042 misfire. But we already know one bit of good news. In yet another example of this happening, gamer pushback appears to have forced EA's hand to not raise prices of its new games, including Battlefield 6, to $80 instead of $70. This comes from Andrew Wilson in a Q1 earnings call: This is yet another example of consumer pushback to the Nintendo-driven $80 price point, which began with Mario Kart World at the launch of the Switch 2. It seemed likely that once that dam broke, it would quickly become the standard. But that has not happened, despite some publishers attempting to dip their toes in the water (and finding its scalding): All of this means that right now, there are no big games approaching with confirmed $80 price points despite Nintendo's move with Mario Kart World. Nintendo may be at trend-setter, but other publishers may realize that a 15% price hike on games is not exactly what players want to see in the current state of the global economy. How long this lasts, however, is anyone's guess. We will earn more about Battlefield 6 today, including possibly confirmation of its price and release date. My colleague Erik Kain will be covering that reveal. Follow me on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Pick up my sci-fi novels the Herokiller series and The Earthborn Trilogy.
