Louis Vuitton Draws Fashion Set to Gare du Nord for Runway Show
Louis Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquiere brought his Paris audience to the Gare du Nord for his fall-winter runway presentation on Monday night, showing an eclectic and futuristic mix of styles that featured 1980s-flavored shoulders and scrunched boots along with a wide array of handbags.
Models marched through rows of seated guests as if charging through a bustling train station - only they were just across the street from the Paris train station, in an indoor courtyard.
The first model wore bright red trousers with a gathered, elastic waist, cinched at the ankles and paired with a colorful blouse that was covered with a smoky, translucent rain coat. Her hair was teased out, brushed mostly to one side, Reuters reported.
Other sporty looks followed, including nylon jackets with hoods and zippered pockets that contrasted with dressier styles like lacy slip-dresses and skirts with piles of ruffled layers.
The LVMH-owned (LVMH.PA), which welcomed guests with a clip from Kraftwerk's "Trans-Europe Express" on repeat, added images from the album cover to some looks.
At the end of the show, French First Lady Brigitte Macron leapt out of her seat to embrace Ghesquiere. Macron, who sat alongside the family of LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, is known to wear Vuitton for official outings.
Paris Fashion Week winds up on Tuesday, after featuring shows from some of the world's biggest brands including Dior, Hermes, Chanel, and Saint Laurent (PRTP.PA), as well as Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney.

Trump says Macrons ‘are fine' after plane row video
WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump said Friday that Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte were 'fine,' after a viral video appeared to show her shoving the French president's face on a trip to Vietnam. 'Make sure the door remains closed,' the three-times married Trump quipped to reporters when asked if he had any 'world leader to world leader marital advice' for Macron about the video. 'That was not good,' added Trump, who was holding a joint press conference with billionaire Elon Musk in the Oval Office. The incident was filmed just as the door of the French presidential plane swung open after landing in Hanoi on Sunday. It showed Brigitte Macron, 72, sticking out both her hands and giving her husband's face a shove. Macron, 47, appeared startled but quickly recovered and turns to wave through the open door. The 78-year-old US president, who has long had a 'bromance' with his French counterpart, said he had been in touch with him since. 'I spoke to him. He's fine. They're fine. They're two really good people. I know them very well,' added Trump. 'I don't know what that was all about.' Macron himself denied on Monday that the couple had been having a domestic dispute. He blamed disinformation campaigns for trying to put false meaning on the footage. LVMH Fashion Brand Dior Says Creative Director Chiuri Has Stepped Down
Dior, the fashion brand that is part of French luxury giant LVMH, said on Thursday that Maria Grazia Chiuri had left her job as creative director of its women's collections, a post she had held since 2016. Chiuri's departure is likely to pave the way for Jonathan Anderson as her replacement, Reuters said. Anderson, who left LVMH's smaller label Loewe in March 17, is one of a new generation of designers taking over some of the world's biggest fashion labels amid a sweeping industry overhaul. He is due to create a June collection for Dior Men's Fashion, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault said last month. A spokesperson for Dior declined to comment on succession plans. Bernard Arnault's daughter Delphine Arnault, the chief executive of Christian Dior Couture, thanked Chiuri for creating "highly desirable collections". "She has written a key chapter in the history of Christian Dior, contributing significantly to its tremendous growth," she said in a statement. Chiuri, in the same statement, said she was "immensely proud" of the nine years she spent in the job.
