Motorsport fans are a big part of F1 film, says Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt craved the approval of motorsport fans while filming F1. The 61-year-old actor plays a Formula One driver in the new racing film, and Brad admits that having the support of sports fans means "everything" to him. He told 'Extra': "If we didn't pass their bar, then we were dead, you know? "And to get that kind of, I don't know, response means a lot to us, because we have, again, so much respect for these drivers, for this sport, for everyone, the teams, everything they put into it. They made the movie too. They're a big part of the film." Brad was always confident that the Joseph Kosinski-directed movie would win over the sceptics. He explained: "I felt pretty confident in what we have. "You know, I feel like we successfully thread this needle that's for longtime fans that really understand the sport as well as newcomers, and they understood that was our goal, and, I don't know, I think they had fun too. I think it's just fun. It's really good fun." Brad actually shot some scenes at the Silverstone racing circuit in the UK. And the Hollywood icon admitted to feeling anxious when he walked on the track at the British Grand Prix. Brad shared: "We had been, like, rehearsing there for a few weeks, so it kind of felt like it was home. "But then when the whole race movement comes in it's such a juggernaut of a machine. It is really awe-inspiring, and then to get on the track with 100,000 fans, I was a little bit nervous. "Actually, no, it was a high. Like, sitting waiting it was, once you get going, it's a high. It's a high." Brad has enjoyed a hugely successful career in the movie business, starring in films such as The Big Short, Ocean's Eleven, and Troy. And he admits that F1 has helped to reinvigorate him. Brad said: "Doing this this long and to find something that was almost like starting over, it was so full of passion and it gave me a feeling like I've never had before. It was just sublime. "I'm pretty grateful for Joe Kosinski for coming up with this."

Unlike Pax, who has been in the news more often, Maddox has taken a quiet approach to life and has yet to publicly call out his father. Now, according to the source, Maddox, just like Pax, has made it clear to Pitt that he wants nothing to do with him, which seemingly influenced the actor's decision to cut them both off. Aside from Pax and Maddox, Pitt and Jolie share four other children: Shiloh, Zahara, and twins Vivienne and Knox. Shiloh, on the other hand, officially distanced herself from her dad by legally dropping his last name when she turned 18 in 2024. Ferrari's Formula One fortunes may be flagging but the Italian constructor start this weekend's Le Mans 24 Hour Race as favourites targeting a third consecutive triumph in motorsport's fabled endurance classic. 'F1' Haptic Movie Trailer Uses iPhone Vibrations to Mimic Racing Action
The latest trailer for F1: The Movie uses an iPhone's vibrate feature to bring physicality to the viewing experience. Any iPhone with iOS 18.4 or newer can feel, as well as view, the trailer. F1: The Movie stars Brad Pitt and Damson Idris as Formula 1 drivers and includes Lewis Hamilton among the producers. Brad Pitt, oldest F1 driver ever, gets strapped into the car. My phone buzzes like I'm a PR person in crisis management whose client just publicly announced they hate puppies. The cars take the track, spitting fire. Everything vibrates, with additional pulsations at each pop of flame. Pitt slides into the pit box (Pitt box?). The phone judders like a panic stop with ABS. Disappointingly, nothing vibrates during the laundromat scene, clear proof that nobody in Hollywood knows how out of balance the dryers are in a place where burned-out bachelor F1 racers do their once-a-year duvet cover cleanup. Car hits wall. Buzz. Car runs down the straight. Buzz. In-car shots. Buzz. My hand starts to go numb. We'll give Apple credit for the imaginative approach to its latest trailer for F1: The Movie. It's long been a challenge in any motorsports-themed entertainment to translate the violence and thrill of high-speed track action, and at least this haptic-feedback experiment is making an effort. However, you'll need an iPhone with iOS 18.4 or newer to actually experience the haptic trailer. The trailer uses the same motors that make your phone vibrate for a text message or incoming phone call but matches them up with key action points in the video to add more drama to the revving engines and splintering carbon-fiber crashes. It makes race cars feel more like a "Your table is ready" restaurant pager at a Panera Bread than a 200-mph Formula 1 car, but it was mildly entertaining. It would probably really delight a cat or a baby, but we didn't have one handy during our test-watch. F1: The Movie stars Brad Pitt as retired driver Sonny Hayes, who returns to the cockpit as a mentor to rookie Joshua "Noah" Pearce (Damson Idris). F1 comes to theaters in the U.S. on June 27.
