The Desi Boyz star also pointed out how vicious online commentary often crosses the line.
Chitrangada Singh is the latest celebrity to speak out against the relentless trolling faced by actresses who choose to undergo cosmetic enhancements. In a recent interview, the actress expressed her disappointment with the harsh judgment and personal attacks women in the entertainment industry face when they opt for fillers or other appearance-related procedures.
'I think if somebody is in a visual medium and is using something to enhance themselves, it's absolutely fine. I have no moral judgement on that… We are evolving and I don't see anything wrong with that," Chitrangada said. She said that individual choices about appearance should not become grounds for moral scrutiny. 'Does somebody overdo it? Maybe. But that's their idea of beauty. Who are you to decide? So, I feel that unnecessary assassinating somebody's whole character over it, I don't approve of that at all."
Her statement comes at a time when several actresses and public figures have been under the spotlight for alleged cosmetic procedures, facing intense online scrutiny and body-shaming.
On the professional front, Chitrangada Singh was recently seen in Housefull 5, which released in theatres on June 6, 2025. The film boasts a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Fardeen Khan, Dino Morea, Sanjay Dutt, Johny Lever, Chunky Panday, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Ranjeet, Nikitin Dheer, Sonam Bajwa, and Soundarya Sharma.
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Warda Nadiadwala, and Firuzi Khan under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, Housefull 5 arrived in two versions—Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B—each with a distinct climax. The experimental format and massive cast have already generated strong buzz at the box office

While Kajol, Ajay Devgn and Mani Ratnam supported the actress, Chitrangda Singh, who is basking in the success of Housefull 5, shared that it all depends on an actor's equation with their director and producer. 'This is about the personal relationship between an actor's understanding with the director, the requirements of a director, the requirements of a producer- If they can, I am sure they will manage. But at times there are restrains- restrain of time, restrain of money, scheduling, so it is not possible. So, I think we also have to respect that aspect, because after all, time is money in this industry- everybody is investing in a project," Singh shared while talking to IANS. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD 'So I feel it is everyone's own choice and I think Deepika is a very big actress and it is her right to make a choice, it's her privilege to make a choice," she added. While the fiasco between Deepika and Vanga has been garnering headlines for quite some time, an earlier report emerged discussing the actress's demands for Spirit. 'The actor had reportedly demanded ₹25 crores for approximately 35 days of shoot, along with a 10% profit share, extensive entourage expenses, and even expressed unwillingness to deliver dialogues in Telugu—something the director felt strongly about. To top it off, confidential plot details from Spirit were allegedly leaked, which raised serious concerns among the producers," the source told News18. According to the report, Sandeep 'believes actors speaking their own lines'. 'Contrary to speculation, her restricted filming schedule of under 8 hours a day was never the primary issue. In filmmaking, working hours are fluid and depend on location, lighting, and various technical factors. You could shoot for 2 hours or 8, depending on the scene. What truly matters is flexibility, collaboration, and respect for the craft. It's about commitment. Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga believes actors speaking their own lines builds authenticity and emotional connect with the audience," the source added.
