AAVE Breaks Key Resistance as DeFi Sector Heats Up

Yahoo2 days ago

AAVE's recent price action demonstrates remarkable strength, climbing another 3.8% over the past 24-hour period and now up 25% since Monday.
The token broke through key resistance at $311.50 with exceptional volume, suggesting potential for continued upward movement.
This technical breakout was supported by significant fundamental developments in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday held a roundtable discussion about the sector with key figures participating. There, SEC Chair Atkins suggested exploring regulatory exemptions for DeFi firms, spurring optimism for DeFi's future.
Market analysts remain optimistic about AAVE's long-term potential, with some setting targets as high as $1,000 per token, though such predictions should be approached with caution. The platform's strong fundamentals and increasing adoption position it as a significant player in the evolving DeFi landscape.
Technical Analysis
AAVE established a significant high-volume support zone around $302.35-302.52, while breaking through resistance at the $311.50 level during the 12:00 UTC hour with exceptional volume (179,461 units) that exceeded the 24-hour average by over 140%.
The overall range of 20.37 points (6.73%) highlights increased volatility, with price action forming an ascending channel pattern and finding momentum after consolidating between $305-310 for several hours.
A descending channel pattern formed after the 13:30 selloff that saw volume spike to over 6,100 units at 13:32, with the correction finding support near $312.00, representing a 38.2% Fibonacci retracement of the earlier upward move.
Price consolidated between $312.00-312.60 in the final 15 minutes on decreasing volume, suggesting potential stabilization before the next directional move.

Nailwal, who launched the project in 2017 when it was still called Matic Network, will consolidate control and reorient the team toward AggLayer — Polygon's new cross-chain liquidity protocol that promises seamless interoperability across networks. The foundation will also retire zkEVM, Polygon's rollup network. "This renewed control marks the beginning of a strategic push for Polygon to reclaim its position at the forefront of Web3," the team wrote in a press release shared with CoinDesk — Marguax Nijkerk Read more. ETHEREUM FOUNDATION'S NEW TREASURY POLICY: The Ethereum Foundation published an updated treasury policy, outlining a series of new plans around token sales, fiat purchases and transparency practices designed to ensure the organization's "long-term agency, sustainability, and legitimacy." The EF, a Swiss non-profit, plays a central role in the Ethereum blockchain ecosystem. In addition to employing researchers, builders and community liaisons, the foundation was granted a large trove of ether (ETH) tokens at Ethereum's genesis which it uses to fund its operations and support other projects in the ecosystem. In a blog post, the foundation stated it plans to annually designate 15% of its treasury to operational expenses ("opex"), with a 2.5-year buffer kept at all times in its reserves. "We intend to reduce annual opex roughly linearly over the next five years, ending at a long-term 5% baseline," the foundation wrote. BITCOIN CORE 30 TO INCREASE OP_RETURN DATA LIMIT: The developers of Bitcoin Core, the primary open-source software for connecting the blockchain behind the world's largest cryptocurrency, said October's version 30 release will increase the default limit for OP_RETURN data transactions from the current 80 bytes to nearly 4MB, a limit imposed by Bitcoin's block size. The proposal for the change, which was confirmed in an update on GitHub, had sparked debate within the Bitcoin community. Critics argued that removing the limit could encourage increased embedding of arbitrary data, potentially leading to network spam and a shift from bitcoin's primary function as a financial tool. — Sam Reynolds Read more. Texas Longhorns Top NIL Earners in 2025

Texas Longhorns Top NIL Earners in 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The University of Texas is one of the most notable colleges in the country. Its athletic program appears to be at an all-time high with several sports competing on the biggest stages in the SEC. The Texas football program in particular is one of the biggest brands in the nation. In 2024, the Longhorns football program generated $204.7 million in revenue. Advertisement Many football players are benefitting from Texas' brand recently. According to On3's NIL Valuations, three football players are making more than a million dollars and six others surpass $500,000. To no surprise, quarterback phenom Arch Manning takes the No. 1 spot. Manning currently has the highest NIL Valuation of any collegiate athlete at $6.8 million. The next closest valuation is Miami quarterback Carson Beck at $4.3 million. Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning takes the field before his team's College Football Playoff game against the Clemson Tigers at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium on Dec. 21, Miron-Imagn Images Texas wide receiver Ryan Wingo and pass rusher Colin Simmons have the second highest NIL Valuation on the football team at $1.5 million each. True freshman defensive lineman Justus Terry is next on the list at $825,000. Advertisement Anthony Hill ($717,000), Malik Muhammad ($707,000), Trevor Goosby ($699,000), Jack Endries ($576,000) and Tre Wisner ($553,000) round out the other group of Texas football players with NIL Valuations over $500,000. Just missing the cut is All-American safety Michael Taaffe at $468,000. Taaffe will likely surpass the $500,000 mark this season as one of Texas' primary leaders and one of the top returning safeties in the nation. With the recent success of Texas reaching the College Football Playoff semifinal the past two seasons, it seems to be money well spent. Massive Cloudflare outage takes down major apps — Google, Discord, Spotify, YouTube hit

Massive Cloudflare outage takes down major apps — Google, Discord, Spotify, YouTube hit originally appeared on TheStreet. A Google Cloud outage at Cloudflare led to several leading applications, such as Google, Discord, Spotify, Twitch, Firebase, Cursor, etc. partially shutting down. As per DownDetector, many major platforms including YouTube, Google, Gmail, Discord, Snapchat, Google Maps, Rocket League, and were affected by the Cloudflare outage. The spike in outages began around 12:30 PM UTC and escalated rapidly across multiple regions. PlayStation Network, Fortnite, Xbox Live, and Call of Duty servers have all reportedly crashed. YouTube is partially working, but glitchy. ChatGPT is online, but reports of 'slow servers' and 'no network' issues are pouring in. While this isn't directly a crypto-specific outage, it's hitting the same infrastructure many exchanges, bots, and analytics tools rely on. However, Discord going down impacted the crypto community as it heavily relies on the instant messaging app for latest news surrounding coin prices, listings, mergers and acquisitions, etc. Meanwhile, X continued to offer the latest crypto commentary. The social media platform, owned by Elon Musk, likely avoided the outage due to its shift to on-premises infrastructure. As per Grok, X has reduced dependency on cloud services through dedicated data centres, saving it from the outage. The AI crypto app, Alva, reassured the crypto community that there is no market disruption yet as there is no reported spike in on-chain chatter and trader sentiment. No crypto exchange took the hit today but a Cloudflare outage back on June 21, 2022 disrupted exchanges such as FTX, Bitfinex, and OKX, raising concerns about the reliability of centralized platforms. A Cloudflare representative told TheStreet Roundtable, "A limited number of services at Cloudflare use Google Cloud and were impacted. We expect them to come back shortly. The core Cloudflare services were not impacted."
