Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah / Nottingham Forest
Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah has signed a two-year contract with Nottingham Forest Women. The Ghanaian international joins from the London City Lionesses, where she played last season in the FA Women's Championship.
A free agent since last May, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah arrives at Nottingham Forest to continue her career. The 29-year-old forward was officially unveiled by the club on August 12 after putting pen to paper on a two-season deal. Having previously played for Everton and Aston Villa, Boye-Hlorkah featured for the London City Lionesses over the past two campaigns (2023-2025), helping the team earn promotion to the FA Women's Super League.
On the international stage, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah represented England at youth level before switching allegiance to Ghana in 2023. She took part in the recent 2024 Africa Women's Cup of Nations, held in July 2025, where the Black Queens secured a third-place finish.
"I am thrilled to join the club and play alongside this group of players. The team had an incredible season last year. History is being made here and I am grateful to be able to help build something special within the club," Boye-Hlorkah said during her unveiling.

All right, so please give us your top four in the Premier League this season. No shock. I'm gonna go with Liverpool to win again. Look, I understand that going back to back is extremely difficult, but when they've brought in the type of players that they have, I think it's to go after multiple. Titles this season. There are some challenges. I still think they're the best side top to bottom in the Premier League, so I'm going for Liverpool to win. Even though they lost the Community Shield. I mean, that's, I mean, it's not great, let me ask you a question. It's a stupid trophy anyway, right? I mean, and now if they would have won, I would have been like, oh, it's a glorious trophy. It's a very important one, but they lost, so we can say it's a stupid trophy. That was almost. Wake-up call in my opinion. Uh, to go real quick through the other top four. So I'm going to Liverpool to win. Chelsea second, Man City third, Arsenal fourth. Those are my top four. Chelsea, I think, is going to have a fantastic season. I think they will, they will be fighting, um, for the Premier League. I think they will be fighting, uh, by the end of the season, even maybe in the Champions League as well. I, I think it's has a very deep side. That has so many options, and I feel like they're ready to make the next step. Man City, they're gonna come back and have a great season. I don't think it's gonna be as bad as they were last year. They will win something this year. Not sure what they'll win, but I do think that Pep's not gonna let this go down the drain, down the toilet again, and I think that they have had enough signings that have come in to kind of replace some of the players that have that have out that have left the club, like Jack Grealish and some others as well. Uh, and I think Arsenal. You know, I think a lot of people are picking Arsenal to win the Premier League, and I'm just asking, um, have they done enough? Is Victor D Joker is the guy who's going to finally score 25 goals in a season for Arsenal? You know, the last guy who scored 25 goals in a season for Arsenal? Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. That's how long. That it's been without a 25-goalscorer in a season. I don't know if Victor Join is going to be that guy. If he is, then I may be wrong about my prediction. But as of now, I still don't think that they've done enough to push them forward and be a better team than Liverpool or even Chelsea with how deep they are now. Close

Louis Rees-Zammit signs with Bristol Bears on return to rugby

BRISTOL, England (AP) — Wales winger Louis Rees-Zammit signed with Bristol Bears on Thursday in a resumption of his rugby career after an 18-month spell in American football. The 24-year-old Rees-Zammit announced two weeks ago that ' it's time to come home ' after spending all of last season on the practice squad of the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars. 'Bristol Bears was the obvious choice for me,' he said in the team's announcement. 'The style of rugby the team play — all about entertaining the fans and growing the game — perfectly aligns to how I want to play and how I express myself on and off the field.' Rees-Zammit had left English rugby club Gloucester in early 2024 to join the NFL's international player pathway program. He spent five months working as a running back with the Kansas City Chiefs before switching to receiver with the Jaguars, but he never made an active roster. In rugby union, Rees-Zammit has scored 14 tries in 32 test appearances for Wales and was selected on the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa in 2021. Rees-Zammit was considered one of the world's most exciting rugby players before leaving to chase an NFL dream. He plans to pick up where he left off. 'I want to get fans out of their seats, create exciting moments and help people fall in the love with the game,' he said. "I'm excited to return to rugby at a club that demands those values. I'm looking forward to working with my teammates, Pat Lam and the coaches and all the backroom team to bring success to the Bears.' ___ AP rugby:

Callum Hudson-Odoi close to agreeing new contract with Nottingham Forest

Callum Hudson-Odoi is close to agreeing a new contract with Nottingham Forest. His original contract with the club was a three-year deal and is set to expire next summer. Hudson-Odoi, 24, came through Chelsea's academy and made 126 senior appearances before leaving for Forest in 2023, the summer after a year-long loan at Bayer Leverkusen. Advertisement The winger has made 70 appearances, registering 13 goals and six assists, over two seasons at the Midlands club. Last season he played 36 matches in all competitions despite picking up a couple of injuries. Forest have experienced multiple changes to their attacking players this summer. They lost wingers Antony Elanga and Ramon Sosa to Newcastle United and Palmeiras respectively. This has been partially balanced by the signing of Dan Ndoye from Bologna for £35million ($47.5m). The Athletic reported on Thursday that Forest are in the process of agreeing a deal with Ipswich Town for Omari Hutchinson, who also came through Chelsea's academy. A deal has been agreed, however, for Manchester City's James McAtee, per The Athletic. Hudson-Odoi appeared at multiple age-group levels of England's national set-up before making his senior debut in 2019. He has been capped three times but the last of which was in November 2019.
