Part of Interstate 894 will be closed this weekend. Here's what to know
Sections of Interstate 894 will be closed June 6-9 and June 13-16 as the Wisconsin Department of Transportation continues its roadwork on the highway.
Here's a look at the I-894 road closures, according to WisDOT:
Westbound I-94 is scheduled to close from the Mitchell Interchange to the Hale Interchange for final paving operations from 11 p.m. June 6 through 5:30 a.m. June 9.
Eastbound lanes will remain open. The I-894 westbound exit ramp to Loomis Road closed starting at 9 p.m. June 5.
Eastbound I-894 is scheduled to close from the Hale Interchange to the Mitchell Interchange for paving from 11 p.m. June 13 to 5:30 a.m. June 16. Westbound lanes will remain open. The I-894 eastbound exit ramp to Loomis Road will close at 9 p.m. June 12.
If there's poor weather, the closure of I-894 westbound will be rescheduled to June 13 to 16 and the closure of I-894 eastbound will be rescheduled to July 18 to 21.
WisDOT is urging drivers to use I-41, I-43 and I-94 to bypass the closures. For the most up-to-date road conditions, visit 511wi.gov.

5 questions for Wisconsin racing in 2025: How much sprint car racing is too much?
Before the calendar flipped, we looked ahead to five questions to be answered – or at least addressed – during the 2025 Wisconsin racing season. One involves an incredible and ambituous stretch of sprint car racing at its highest levels with Kyle Larson's High Limit series June 3-4 and the World of Outlaws June 6-7-8. Not only did the World of Outlaws grace Wisconsin with eight races in 2025, it dropped three of them alongside the previously announced two-night Badger State debut for Kyle Larson's High Limit Racing. Five events in six nights are an abundance for sprint car fans. High Limit is set to race June 3 at 141 Speedway in Maribel and June 4 at Red Cedar Speedway in Menomonie to start this unofficial Wisconsin sprint week. The Outlaws events fall on June 6 at the Plymouth Dirt Track, June 7 at Beaver Dam Raceway (the traditional $20,000-to-win Jim 'JB' Boyd Memorial) and June 8 at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie. Advertisement There's one conflict across the timespan, Red Cedar on the night of an Outlaws' stop in Jackson, Minnesota. Will any High Limit teams use their proximity and free weekend to cross over and give fans a bigger treat? How many Wisconsin drivers might partake? Hale Interchange construction in Milwaukee County to begin week of May 27
Work is scheduled to begin the week of May 27 on a multi-year road construction project through the Hale Interchange in Milwaukee County. The work will take place along I-41/43/894 between Lincoln Avenue and 84th Street, according to a statement from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. The project is expected to cost about $22.3 million. The work is scheduled to be completed in late 2026. Work will include: Resurfacing and patching along the interstate between Lincoln Avenue and 84th Street. Repairing multiple bridges within the Hale Interchange. Repairing the parking lot at the Hales Corners Park and Ride. Replacing guardrails and curb ramps. Upgrading signals and lights. Two-way traffic on the interstate will continue during construction, with resurfacing work taking place primarily overnight. Work on bridges will cause ramp closures for about 45 days: Starting in mid-summer, the northbound to eastbound system ramp will close. Starting in late summer, the westbound to southbound system ramp will close. At night, full closures of the freeway, lanes and ramps are expected.
