Real Madrid Contact Liverpool Over PSG Transfer Target Amid Uncertain Future
Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté hasn't yet agreed to a contract extension with the Reds, sparking transfer rumors linking him to PSG and Real Madrid. According to Diario AS, Real Madrid are interested in signing Konaté this summer but only if Liverpool lowers their asking price. The Spanish club is reportedly willing to offer between €20 million and €25 million, while Liverpool want at least €50 million. Real Madrid aren't planning to meet that valuation, especially since Konaté has made it clear he wants to join them. They're happy to wait until 2026, when he could move on a free transfer. Earlier reports from Foot Mercato revealed Konaté has been offered to several top clubs, including Real Madrid, PSG, and Barcelona, potentially paving the way for a move after his contract ends. Real Madrid keen on PSG transfer targetL'Equipe reports that Real Madrid has reached out to Liverpool to see if there's an offer that could convince them to sell Ibrahim Konaté this summer. However, the Reds are still hoping to extend his contract. Recently, TalkSPORT's Alex Crook reports that Konaté has been holding off on signing a new deal with Liverpool due to dissatisfaction with the salary being offered. The report notes that Liverpool have a reputation for being tough negotiators, so if Konaté wants to stay, he may need to scale back his demands. Moreover, Liverpool could be facing the reality of losing Konaté, and Defensa Central reports that Liverpool manager Arne Slot has asked the club to pursue Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi if Konaté joins Real Madrid. Guehi, like Konaté, is under contract until June 2026 and is reportedly not planning to renew. Moreover, the report claims that Guehi would be open to moving to Anfield, and Liverpool would use Konaté's potential sale fee to fund the deal. Real Madrid view Konaté as a key addition to strengthen their defense for the 2025-2026 season.

Paul Pogba hammers Manchester United over Marcus Rashford exit call
Barcelona are looking to imminently confirm the arrival of Marcus Rashford after clinching a loan agreement with Manchester United. As the saga continues to roll on in the UK and Spain the latest update indicates Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign Rashford from United, with the 27-year-old attacker landing in Catalonia as part of a season-long loan with an option to buy, believed to be in the region of €30-35m. Barcelona increased their focus on bringing in Rashford in the last week following a mixed summer in the the transfer market. Rashford will act as cover for Raphinha on the left of Barcelona's attack, after the club had previously chased deals for Nico Williams and Luis Diaz. He is expected to fly into Catalonia and complete his medical before signing all appropriate documents over the coming days to seal the finalities of the switch. Hansi Flick is hopeful he can include Rashford in his squad for their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea but that remains uncertain at this stage. Image via Alex Livesey / Getty Images Despite their ongoing financial issues, Barcelona are willing to bankroll a move for Rashford, and reports from The Times claim they will cover his full £325,000 a week wages as part of the loan. A move away from Manchester has looked certain since the start of the summer but former United teammate Paul Pogba has waded in to support Rashford. Pogba has recently returned to football following a ban, joining AS Monaco, and the Frenchman believes the Red Devils treatment of Rashford has been unfair throughout. 'This is a crazy situation. But, I'm happy for him because they took away his number in Manchester,' he said. 'Manchester United are losing a great player. Unlucky for them. 'It's great for Barcelona to be honest. I'm not even talking about United, because they've bought a few new players and the new manager wants to do his thing I guess. '
