After Turkey drones failed in Operation Sindoor, Erdagon makes biggest deal with India's friend... to deliver 48 fighter jets by...
Even after failure of its drones in the recent Operation Sindoor, Turkey has signed a defence deal with the world's largest Muslim country. Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Instagram announced to give 48 KAAN fighter jets to Indonesia. This is Turkey's first combat aircraft, which flew for the first time last year.
Biggest defense deal in Turkey's history
Turkey compares its fighter jet to US' F-16 jet. Regarding this deal, Erdogan said that Indonesia's local capabilities will also be used in the production of this fighter jet. He said that this agreement will prove beneficial for Turkey and Indonesia. This is a $10 billion agreement which is one of the biggest defense contracts in Turkey's history.
KAAN fighter jet took off last year
Regarding this deal, Erdogan said, 'I wish continued success to all the companies to whom we have given every kind of support to further strengthen our defense industry.' This aircraft, built by Turkiye Aerospace Industries (TAI), took its first flight last year at a speed of 230 knots and 8000 feet.
This defense deal is a big deal for Turkey because last month India had exposed its weapons to the world under Operation Sindoor. Under Operation Sindoor, India had entered Pakistan and destroyed terrorist hideouts. In response to which Pakistan had made an unsuccessful attempt to attack Indian military bases using Turkey's drones.
China had offered J-10 fighter jet
India destroyed all the Turkish drones in the sky, after which Erdogan's defense industries were exposed to the world. Indonesia has also bought Rafale jets from France before this. Earlier, Indonesia's retired Air Marshal Doni Irmawan Taufanto claimed that China has offered them J-10 fighter jets. He said that China has offered us not only J-10 fighter jets but also weapons and warships.

Sivankutty to hold talks with Kerala CM on revised school hours

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A day after the Samsatha Kerala Jem-Iyyathul Ulama voiced its opposition to the government's move to increase high school class timings by half an hour, General Education Minister V Sivankutty on Thursday said he will hold discussions with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the matter. Maintaining that the government was not stubborn on the issue, Sivankutty said the decision had been taken for the benefit of students. The class hours, he said, were extended by 15 minutes each in the morning and afternoon sessions to ensure 220 instructional days as directed by the court. 'What is the big deal if students get 30 minutes of additional classes,' asked Sivankutty. He said extra-curricular activities also warrant increasing the working hours in schools. The Right to Education Act and state education rules have stipulated minimum instructional days that need to be strictly followed,' he said. Samastha, an association of eminent Sunni scholars, had expressed concern that the revised schedule would affect lakhs of Muslim students attending madrasas.

Cabinet Berths…Aspirants with followers knock at PCC chief's doors in protest

Hyderabad: Aspirants and their followers who failed to get cabinet berths made a beeline to register their protest with PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud on Thursday. Leaders from Munnuru Kapu, Yadav and Golla Kuruma communities, who were hopeful of getting representation in Cabinet, were not properly represented. Followers of Govt Whips Beerla Ilaiah, Aadi Srinivas demanded that they be given opportunity in Cabinet from the remaining three positions. Following his meeting with Mahesh Goud, Beerla Ilaiah briefed the media at Gandhi Bhavan. He emphasised that social justice was possible only with the Congress and reminded that under United Andhra Pradesh, Golla and Kuruma communities were always represented in the Cabinet. He said that currently there are 22 lakh Yadavs and 6 lakh Kurumas in Telangana. Ilaiah demanded from the PCC that Gollas and Kurumas be given cabinet berths, a position of government advisor, an MLC, five corporation chairman posts, five commission members, a working president, three vice presidents, eight general secretaries and five DCC presidents in the party. They expressed their grievance that though justice was done to the BCs, injustice was done to the Gollas and Kurumas. He praised CM Revanth Reddy for giving priority to BC, SC and ST in government and party posts. He reminded the PCC chief that had assured that he would definitely provide opportunities to Gollas and Kurumas in the upcoming party posts. Meanwhile, Munnur Kapu leaders demanded that Aadi Srinivas be given a ministry post from the three unfulfilled Cabinet berths. Representatives of different associations of Munnuru Kapu and Aadi Srinivas's constituency, Vemulawada also visited Gandhi Bhavan and held meetings with Mahesh Kumar Goud. The leaders reminded PCC president about their contribution to Telangana's struggle and later bringing to power the Congress in 2023. Similarly, Muslim leaders expressed dissatisfaction over the State leadership's failure to accommodate a Muslim face in cabinet. However, they hoped that in the near future at least there will be one Minister from the Muslim community who will also handle Minority Welfare.
