Actor Hugh Jackman is no stranger to the theatre and musicals, both on the big screen and on stage. He is starring in an off-Broadway production of Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes. The play is written by Hannah Moscovitch and explores the complexities of power, consent, and narrative control in the wake of the #MeToo movement. Hugh plays the role of Jon, a college professor who becomes entangled with a student. It premiered at the Minetta Lane Theatre in New York (USA) on April 28 and will run till June 18.
The actor made his Broadway debut with a play titled Good Night, and Good Luck on Thursday, April 3 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City. It's directed by David Crome and stars Clark Gregg, Glenn Fleshler, Carter Hudson and Ilana Glazer. The actor who usually proudly flaunts his silver hair has dyed it even though 'my wife is going to hate it because nothing makes you look older than when an older guy dyes his hair,' he said, adding, 'My kids are going to just laugh at me nonstop." This play is a stage adaptation of the 2005 movie about CBS news journalist Edward R. Murrow's legendary 1954 exposé on Senator Joseph McCarthy.

The Marvel actor, who shot to fame as the mischievous Norse God Loki, had reunited with his Marvel universe costar Hayley Atwell. The duo can be seen at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London, dancing and singing their hearts out for director Jamie Lloyd's production of Shakespeare's romcom, Much Ado About Nothing. The 44-year-old is playing Benedick, but this isn't his first time playing a Shakespearean role as he essayed Coriolanus on stage in 2014, and Prince Hal in BBC's adaptation of The Hollow Crown. He said, 'If I had good fortune, I'd love to play Shakespeare for the rest of my life. I really love doing it. The plays are so deep, and they contain such wisdom about being alive.'

The actor is playing the lead in Othello, a remake of the Shakespeare play. 'It's the most excited I've been this century,' Washington said, adding, 'Seriously. I haven't been this excited about anything I've done as I am about this.' The plot revolves around Othello, a military commander who is convinced his wife has been unfaithful by his ensign, Iago.
The actor takes the stage as Iago, an ambitious lieutenant and masterful manipulator in Shakespearean play Othello. He stars alongside actor Denzel Washington, who is in the titular role. The play has been reimagined in modern with two soldiers who suffer from PTSD. The production at the Barrymore Theatre is now Broadway's top-grossing play of all time, generating $2.8 million with eight preview performances.

Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell discover a new world in trailer for The Big Bold Beautiful Journey. Watch

Sony Pictures has just released the trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, featuring stars Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell in the lead roles. The narrative has the two protagonists go through a series of doors that take them to a particular memory from their lives. Kogonada, known for films like Columbus (2017), After Yang (2021), and the series Pachinko (2022), will be at the helm of the project. The trailer starts with Sarah (Margot) and David (Colin) at a wedding, which both are attending alone, and two lonely people joining the celebration of a marriage seems to be a good starting point for their relationship as characters. Soon after the wedding, David is seen driving, and his GPS assistant asks him, 'David, would you like to go on a big, bold, beautiful journey?' to which he answers, 'Yes.' He then picks up Sarah, and the two of them begin this journey, knowing nothing of what lies ahead of them. Watch | Chris Hemsworth talks about legacy of Thor and his return in Marvel's Avengers Doomsday They start going through different doors together, soon realising that these are gateways to past memories. David makes a visit to his high school on the same day he got rejected by a girl he loved, while Sarah visits her mother from when she was sick and has since then passed away. The trailer seems to suggest that the doors don't take them to some random memories but take them to times which made an impact on their lives. Although, later on, David says, 'I want to go back to a time when I thought everything would work out for me,' so it's unclear whether they can control their destinations. A Big Bold Beautiful Journey seems to revolve around the theme of companionship and choosing to be happy in one's life. Although the film allows them to go into their past and maybe learn from it, David's last dialogue in the trailer is about accepting one's reality and sharing it with someone. He says, 'No matter who you are in your life, you just need someone to share it with.' Apart from Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell, the cast of the film also includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Hamish Linklater, Billy Magnussen, Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith and Yuvi Hecth.

World's most expensive film costs $1 billion, paid $250M in cast fees; may flop even if it out-earns Jurassic Park, LOTR

When James Cameron was making Titanic in the mid-1990s, reports of its extravagant budget had taken Hollywood by surprise. The film cost $200 million to make, and millions more were spent on its publicity and marketing. It took a windfall at the box office to ensure that Titanic did not sink (pun intended). So, imagine a film that is costing its makers several times more, and has a $250-million budget for cast salaries alone. The new most expensive film ever made is a gargantuan project that may put infrastructural undertakings to shame. Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) upcoming crossover event film Avengers: Doomsday will soon have the title of the world's most expensive film. Collider recently reported that Marvel has spent $8 million on its pre-production alone, more than thrice what was spent on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which eventually cost $388 million. Forbes also reported that the per-week production cost of Doomsday is twice as much as Quantumania, which has led to experts predicting that the film could cost Marvel Studios anything between $500-600 million. This is much higher than the production cost of Star Wars Episode IX, which currently holds the record with a production cost of $447 million. A post shared by Marvel Studios (@marvelstudios) But these are just the film's production costs. Marvel will spend millions of dollars more on marketing and publicity. Various reports have estimated that the two Avengers films—Doomsday and Secret Wars—could cost Disney and Marvel $1 billion each. Until Secret Wars begins production, this makes Avengers: Doomsday the most expensive movie ever. The cost of Avengers: Doomsday includes a heady dose of VFX, but is ballooned by its exorbitant cast. As many as 35 A-listers are to appear in the film in roles of varying lengths. Variety reported that cast salaries alone can cross $250 million for the film. If Doomsday does touch the landing cost of $1 billion as predicted, it needs to be a massive success at the box office just to be profitable. After including the distribution costs, the film would need to earn substantially more than $1 billion to break even. This means even if Doomsday earns more than blockbusters like Jurassic Park ($912 million) and the Lord of the Rings films (average gross of $987 million for the three films), it may end up being a box office failure. Directed by the Russo Brothers, Doomsday will be the fifth Avengers film and the 39th film in the MCU overall. The film features an ensemble cast including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, Wyatt Russell, Tenoch Huerta Mejía, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Kelsey Grammer, Lewis Pullman, Danny Ramirez, Joseph Quinn, David Harbour, Winston Duke, Hannah John-Kamen, Tom Hiddleston, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, Channing Tatum, Pedro Pascal, and Robert Downey Jr. It will feature the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the X-Men team up to face Doctor Doom (Downey). The film is slated for release on December 18, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU.
