Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in Tuesday crash near Brookside
According to the Kansas City Police Department, just before 9:45 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Gregory Boulevard and Wornall Road on reports of a crash.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle was driving south on Wornall when they ran through a red light.

At the same time, the driver of an Infinity G35, who had a green light, was driving west on Gregory and entered the intersection.
According to KCPD, the motorcyclist hit the front end of the Infinity, forcing them off the motorcycle.
Emergency responders took the motorcyclist to a hospital, where they are currently suffering from life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Infinity was uninjured in the crash.
KCPD is still investigating the cause of the crash.

Woman dies after shooting in Kansas City's Old Northeast: KCPD
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A woman is dead after a shooting in Kansas City's Old Northeast neighborhood Wednesday night. The Kansas City Police Department says officers responded to the area on Morrell Avenue, east of South Jackson Avenue, on a reported shooting around 8 p.m. When those officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds in front of a house. One person injured in Kansas City shooting near 99th, Holmes KCPD called for EMS, which arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. According to police, the shooting occurred as the woman was in front of the residence when an interaction with an unknown suspect took place, leading to shots being fired. KCPD says the suspect left in an unknown direction. Investigators identified the victim on Thursday morning as 42-year-old Braisen Cain. This is the 99th homicide in KCMO this year. Auburn TE Hollis Davidson III suspended after drug arrest
Auburn suspended freshman tight end Hollis Davidson III following his felony drug arrest this summer, according to the Montgomery Advertiser. Davidson was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 controlled substance on July 28 stemming from a June 19 incident in Peachtree City, Ga., per police records obtained by the newspaper. Officers found Davidson loitering near a golf cart outside a closed business and discovered loose marijuana and a THC vape pen. After testing on the pen, he was officially arrested on July 28 and released the following day on $5,000 bail. Davidson had been participating in Auburn's preseason activities before being "suspended for a violation of team rules," according to a statement from a school spokesperson. The 6-foot-5, 238-pound Davidson was a four-star recruit for coach Hugh Freeze in his 2025 class.
