Govt. paying great attention to developing national industry
He highlighted the government's efforts to stimulate industrial production through improving the business environment, simplifying procedures to support both local and foreign investors, encouraging innovation and technology in the industrial sector, and implementing an investment plan to strengthen domestic manufacturing across various sectors.
The prime minister made the remarks during a meeting he held on Monday, August 4th, 2025, to review the efforts being made to support the localization of industries in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel al-Wazir, Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah al-Din, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Public Business Sector Mohamed Shimi, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el Khatib, as well as some officials from the ministries and authorities concerned.
The meeting discussed various efforts and measures taken to support industry and overcome the challenges it faces, Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed al-Homosany said.
It also reviewed efforts to provide a fully integrated industrial environment that helps boost production efficiency, achieve the highest quality standards, and enhance competitiveness according to relevant global standards, the spokesman added.
The meeting touched on ongoing efforts to strengthen the national industry in pursuit of economic development, self-sufficiency, and reducing dependency on imports, in line with Egypt's 2030 National Industrial Strategy, he noted.

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has directed setting of the opening date of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) for 1 November. In a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly directed all ministries and relevant bodies to complete all arrangements to ensure the full readiness of the GEM for its grand opening on the set date. The GEM's grand opening was slated for 3 July, but the government postponed the event on 21 June after the outbreak of war between Israel and Iran. PM Madbouly emphasized that the GEM's opening would be an exceptional international event to be added to a rich series of distinguished national events linked to modern Egyptian history. The Grand Egyptian Museum represents a global cultural, civilizational, and touristic landmark that highlights the greatness of Egyptian heritage across its various eras and attracts visitors from all over the world. Built on 500,000 square metres, the GEM, with its trapezoidal architectural design and distinguished external walls, offers an enormous panoramic view of the Giza Plateau. It houses objects from ancient Egypt, spanning from prehistory to the early Roman period. Among the objects on display will be the unique treasures of the boy king Tutankhamun, some of which will see the light of day for the first time. Egypt to inaugurate Grand Egyptian Museum on 1 November
Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced on Wednesday that President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi has approved 1 November as the official date for the complete opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Speaking at the start of the weekly Cabinet meeting, held at its headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Madbouly instructed all relevant ministries and authorities to finalise preparations to ensure the museum and its surrounding area are fully ready. He stressed that the opening must be presented in a manner befitting its cultural and historical significance. The premier said preparations are underway to make the event exceptional, adding another milestone to Egypt's record of landmark national occasions. The inauguration is expected to draw distinguished international guests and feature a series of accompanying cultural events. Located near the Giza Pyramids, the GEM will be the largest archaeological museum in the world, spanning 490,000 square metres with panoramic pyramid views. Designed by Irish firm Heneghan Peng Architects, it will display over 100,000 artefacts from Egypt's ancient history—including the complete Tutankhamun collection, exhibited together for the first time since its discovery in 1922—alongside monumental treasures such as the 3,200-year-old statue of Ramses II. The museum also features advanced conservation laboratories, expansive exhibition halls, educational facilities, and visitor amenities. It is envisioned as a global cultural landmark that will boost Egypt's tourism industry, complement the Giza Plateau, and position the country as a premier hub for archaeology and heritage preservation. During the meeting, Madbouly also reviewed recent presidential activities, including President Al-Sisi's reception of Vietnamese President Luong Cuong on Tuesday. The two leaders agreed to elevate bilateral relations to a comprehensive partnership, with enhanced cooperation in agriculture, manufacturing, trade, and investment, supported by both governments and the private sector. In a separate matter, following the ratification of amendments to the Old Rent Law, Madbouly instructed the concerned ministers to begin immediate implementation of the law's provisions. He affirmed the state's commitment to supporting tenants, providing alternative housing, and personally monitoring the matter on a regular basis.

CAIRO, Aug 5 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly affirmed that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's meeting with Vietnamese President Luong Cuong reflects Egypt's keenness to strengthen relations and expand cooperation with Vietnam. Madbouly welcomed the agreement between the two countries' leaderships to elevate relations to a comprehensive partnership, spanning all areas of cooperation, particularly agriculture, manufacturing, trade, and investment. He also praised the signing of two Memorandums of Understanding on local and economic development. The prime minister made the remarks during his meeting with the Vietnamese president and his accompanying high-level delegation at the Cabinet headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
