Bad Bunny Shares Cryptic Instagram Message as Tourists in Puerto Rico Go Viral for Allegedly Killing Endangered Coquís
Some tourists went viral on Reddit after bragging about silencing Puerto Rico's iconic coquí frogs
The post sparked backlash, with Puerto Ricans calling the act disrespectful to the island's culture and wildlife
Bad Bunny responded on Instagram, amplifying the coquí's croak as a subtle but powerful defense of his home, Puerto RicoBad Bunny is once again using his platform to speak out for Puerto Rico, this time not just through his lyrics but through his actions and love for the island.
On Wednesday, May 28, the global superstar, whose real name is Benito Martínez Ocasio, shared a cryptic message on Instagram Stories, which many took as a response to a growing controversy about the coquí, Puerto Rico's iconic little frog with the big voice.
As per mitú, Bad Bunny posted a black screen with a drawn-out version of his song 'Qué Le Pasó a Hawaii' from his latest album Debi Tirar Mas Fotos, that featured the croak of the coquí turned way up.
It all started when a Reddit post on the r/PuertoRicoTravel subreddit went viral. A tourist at a restaurant in Condado was reportedly overheard bragging about spraying something at their Airbnb to quiet the coquís. The coquís' nightly song is considered one of the island's most cherished and recognizable sounds.
Puerto Rican content creators quickly pushed back, calling the move disrespectful to both local culture and native wildlife. Many locals called out the harmful action in the comments, writing: 'If you don't like the coquí, maybe Puerto Rico isn't the place for you.'
Beyond being annoying to a few tourists, this issue touches on something much more serious. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, 'Any person that injures, captures, or kills a Coquí guajón destroy its eggs, and/or modify its critical habitat is subject to penalties under Federal law.'
Though the Coquí guajón is one species, the common coquí is found everywhere on the island. Nonetheless, their protection matters to both conservationists and island residents.
For Bad Bunny, his Story wasn't just about frogs: It was about respect for the island, its culture and the people who live there.
He's been sounding that alarm for a while now with Debi Tirar Mas Fotos, specifically his song 'Qué Le Pasó a Hawaii,' which warns against Puerto Rico following in Hawaii's footsteps with over-tourism and outside investments that in his eyes, have chipped away at Puerto Rico's identity.
In the song, he sings, 'They want to take the river and the beach away from me ... They want my neighborhood and my grandma gone.' Throughout the track, the coquí's croak echoes briefly in the background. Alongside the album, he released a short film, which was a visual love letter to Puerto Rico.

It features 'Toad Concho,' a frog mascot that's part playful character and part symbol for the island's vulnerable wildlife. Like the song, the film reinforces what's at stake.
For many Puerto Ricans, the coquí isn't just a frog; it's home. And with one simple Instagram post, Bad Bunny managed to remind the world of that.

Woman Takes a Pregnancy Test—First Place She Goes Leaves Internet in Tears
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. An emotional Instagram reel has captured a pivotal moment in two women's friendship. The clip shows Emma Walz waiting on her best friend to answer the door to deliver the news of her positive pregnant test—only 45 minutes after receiving it herself. The best part? Walz's best friend has a new baby of her own, meaning the friends can finally mother alongside each other after a dream they thought was gone. Walz, 23, spoke to Newsweek about the touching announcement and what she is most looking forward to as she and her best friend, Liv, grow as parents together. Photos from Emma Walz's Instagram video of her telling her best friend she's pregnant. Photos from Emma Walz's Instagram video of her telling her best friend she's pregnant. @mrsemmawalz/Instagram "Telling my best friend I'm pregnant (the only one who knew I was a day late)," Walz captioned the reel. "We were engaged together, got married within a few months of each other, and then she got pregnant. And it wasn't time for Josh and I to even start trying months later, she's holding her son, and it's finally time for us to be in the same season again." Speaking further about her journey, Walz said she and her husband had waited for years to have a positive pregnancy test—but not because of fertility issues. The couple got married at 19 and "knew it wasn't wise to have babies yet, as much as [they] wanted them." The bond between Walz and her best friend, Liv, has been strong for years. The two met at nursing school, and they are now emergency room and intensive care unit nurses at the same hospital—but timing differences in life milestones meant they weren't walking in lockstep anymore. "Our seasons separated when she got pregnant in May 2024 with her son," Walz said. "I was the first person she told after her husband. I was so excited, but really struggled with grief surrounding it not being time for my husband and I to start trying yet. Liv and I always wanted to have babies at the same time, and we realized that wasn't going to happen." Despite the bittersweet feelings, Walz and her husband waited for the right time. Finally, in March of 2025, they got pregnant. 'The Honor of My Life' Once she received the news, Walz knew she couldn't wait to tell her best friend that their shared dream was finally happening. "Liv was the only one who knew I was a day late for my period. I knew that when I tested, if I didn't immediately drive to her, it would never be a surprise," she said. "So, we drove immediately to her home and told her 45 minutes after I found out myself. I think that video shows the relief between both of us that it was finally time to be in the same season." Walz also expressed gratitude for Liv's support during her waiting period, saying she has been "gracious" while celebrating her own pregnancy while holding Walz's grief in waiting. "Grieving my wait for motherhood, despite being the one still choosing to use contraception was bizarre," Walz admitted. "The sacrifice of waiting was for this baby and their future, but it didn't change how bad I still wanted this time to come sooner." Now, the friends' shared dream of motherhood alongside each other is coming true—and they couldn't be more excited. "We get to raise our babies side by side," Walz concluded. "I was in her delivery suite, and she'll be in mine. It's the honor of my life to love and be loved so well."

Doctor gets to the 'meat' of a long and healthy life
Dr. Gabrielle Lyon is on a mission to bring attention to the importance of strength. The "health of skeletal muscle" is the "focal point" of health and wellness, Dr. Lyon said during an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital. Dr. Lyon is a board-certified physician and bestselling author of "Forever Strong," and she promotes the importance of a high-protein diet and resistance training through social media and on her podcast, "The Dr. Gabrielle Lyon Show." Dr. Lyon is a fellowship-trained physician, and did additional education on nutrition when she completed a post-doc at Washington University in Saint Louis, "a combined nutritional science with geriatric training." Doctor Rejects Vanity Fair's Protein-maga Connection, Saying Health 'Doesn't Have A Political Belief' Dr. Lyon explained that she was frustrated with the misinformation online, especially around protein, which sparked her mission. "I opened up my Instagram and there were individuals talking about how red meat was causing cancer and killing the planet. And as someone who has studied protein metabolism for years and also worked as a physician at the bedside of individuals and in nursing homes, I knew that the message that they were giving was... It's a matter of life or death." Read On The Fox News App As a result, she felt a "responsibility" to start her medical podcast, "The Dr. Gabrielle Lyon Show," where she discusses a variety of health topics with experts. "My desire is to have transparent conversations with world-class experts. Who are actually doing the job of moving the science. They are not influencers. They are qualified professionals and that's what we need to hear more of," Dr. Lyon said. Dr. Lyon argued that there is a "global mistrust" of healthcare providers and science, and she hopes to improve that through the conversations she has on her podcast. "We have to bring it back to the science," Dr. Lyon said of the importance of having experts on her show. "Here are a lot of good scientists and there is a lot of good science. People just have to learn how to integrate that and understand it." Protein-packed American-grown Rice Alternative Has Twice The Amount As Quinoa Dr. Lyon believes strength is the key to longevity. "If you want to live long, be strong. If you want to die early, plan on being weak," she said. Dr. Lyon describes muscle as "the organ of longevity," and to maintain muscle, it must be trained through resistance training. "We don't have an obesity problem. What we really have is a muscle problem," Dr. Lyon claimed. Additionally, she said that muscle is not a luxury but rather a responsibility, and concluded that the way we age is "up to us." How to improve your chances of living to 100? The secret is being strong, according to Dr. Lyon. "Weakness kills," she said. "Both physical and mental weakness." Vanessa Kirby is pregnant with her first child
Vanessa Kirby is pregnant. The 38-year-old actress revealed that she is expecting her first child as she showed off a baby bump during a photocall for her new movie 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' at the Comic Con Experience Mexico on Saturday (31.05.25). Vanessa is said to have got engaged to her partner Paul Rabil last December after he popped the question after two years of dating, according to the New York Post's Page Six column. The pair were first spotted together in New York City in October 2022 and made their romance Instagram official the following year. Paul, the President of the Premier Lacrosse League, captioned a carousel of Instagram images: "from the very minute we first met in des moines, around the world and back, life is far better, more purposeful and more beautiful with you (sic)' Before finding love with Paul, Vanessa dated actor Callum Turner for four years but revealed that she chose to keep the relationship private as people weren't interested in the details. 'The Crown' actress said in 2018: "I keep my relationship super private. "He is just completely wonderful and he's my best friend, so that's ... I guess you can either choose to talk about it or not. If you talk about it, it becomes interesting to people, but if you don't, then it's not." Vanessa portrayed Princess Margaret in the first two seasons of the Netflix drama about the British royal family but feared that she was "finished" after playing a part that seemed over-the-top in comparison to Claire Foy's Queen Elizabeth. She told The Times newspaper: "Claire is the master of subtlety and I'd be sitting across from her in those scenes with tears coming out, smoking cigarettes, my nose running and I'm shouting in her face. "And I remember thinking, 'Oh my God. This could be the most pantomime thing I've ever done. I'm going to be finished after this.'" However, she has since embarked on a career in blockbuster movies - such as 'Mission: Impossible - Fallout' - and explained that she is drawn to playing "strange" characters. Kirby said: "Strange. That's the biggest compliment you could give me: strange. I just love playing strange; the stranger the better.'
