Ariana Grande 'devastated' as she announces heartbreaking family death
Pop icon Ariana Grande and her family have announced the death of the Wicked star's beloved grandmother. Marjorie Grande, known affectionately known as 'Nonna' to Ariana and her brother Frankie Grande, was 99-years-old. Announcing the sad news on her Instagram Stories this evening, Ariana, 31, reposted a statement from her mother, Joan Grande, announcing Marjorie's death. "We are devastated to share that the beloved matriarch of our family has passed away," read the statement signed by Ariana and her family. "Marjorie (Nonna) Grande passed away peacefully in her home and was surrounded by family and loved ones for every moment of her last few weeks. We thank you for your love, support, and for respecting our privacy as we grieve and celebrate her beautiful, extraordinary life." The Thank U, Next hitmaker found herself fielding an uncomfortable question about her grandmother on the red carpet at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, where her role as Glinda in Wicked earned her a nod for best female actor in a supporting role.
