National Museum of Egyptian Civilization Hosts Launch of 5th Global 'Hope Giver' Campaign
The Grand Theater at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Fustat welcomed an uplifting event this week with the launch of the fifth edition of the international humanitarian campaign 'Hope Giver.'
The campaign, which continues to spread messages of positivity and resilience from the heart of Egyptian civilization to the world, was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by NMEC and the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority. It also received support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Key partners in this year's edition included EgyptAir, Baheya Hospital for Breast Cancer, ElNas Hospital for Cardiology, and charitable organizations such as Ghabbour Foundation and Jannat El-Kholoud.
The campaign is part of Egypt's broader strategy to promote tourism and cultural diplomacy by supporting meaningful international initiatives and integrating people of determination (persons with disabilities) into the heart of public life. NMEC's support reflects its ongoing commitment to promoting its cultural and social role through hosting artistic and humanitarian events.
During the ceremony, Dr. El-Tayeb Abbas, Executive Director of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization Authority, welcomed the attendees, expressing his pride in hosting such a global event. He emphasized the museum's mission to uphold the noble human values embedded in ancient Egyptian civilization and its efforts to foster inclusivity, awareness, and national identity among people with special needs.
He noted that the 'Hope Giver' campaign represents an inspiring global initiative, with volunteers from over 23 countries working to instill hope in patients worldwide. The campaign reflects Egypt's growing contribution to humanitarian causes and international solidarity.
A documentary was screened during the event showcasing the personal journey of tennis champion and campaign founder Captain Anwar El-Kamouny, who battled cancer and used his recovery to inspire others. The event also highlighted Egypt's achievements in supporting sports and people of determination.
The celebration concluded with musical and theatrical performances by children, creating an atmosphere of joy and optimism. Egyptian actress Safaa Abu El-Saud joined the children in a special performance that captivated the audience.
The event drew significant official and public attention, including the attendance of Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities for Tourism Affairs Youmna El-Bahar, former Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram, UNICEF representative and Grand Ball President Ambassador Delia Grace, campaign founder Anwar El-Kamouny, several foreign ambassadors, public figures, and celebrities.
