Kelly Osbourne Speaks Out After Dad Ozzy's Death, Pays Tribute with Poignant Lyrics: 'I Lost the Best Friend I Ever Had'

Kelly shared a line from the Black Sabbath song "Changes," which she and Ozzy released as a duet in 2003
Kelly Osbourne is remembering her father, Ozzy Osbourne, with an emotional tribute that calls back to a special father-daughter moment.
Two days after Ozzy died at age 76, Kelly shared lyrics from the Black Sabbath song "Changes," which she and Ozzy recorded as a duet together in 2003, to her Instagram Stories.
"I feel unhappy I am so sad," Kelly, 40, wrote on Thursday, July 24. "I lost the best friend I ever had 💔"
"Changes," which Ozzy co-wrote with his bandmates, was first released by Black Sabbath in 1972. In 2003, he and Kelly recorded a version as a duet with revised lyrics that reflected on their bond. The song was a No. 1 hit in the U.K., and they became just the second father-daughter pair to top the charts, after Frank and Nancy Sinatra in 1967.
Ozzy's family announced his death with a statement signed by Kelly, her mother Sharon, her brothers Louis and Jack, and her sister Aimee.
'It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," the statement read. "He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time."
The English singer and songwriter, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice — as a member of Black Sabbath and as a solo artist — was known for his rock star status, which earned him the nickname 'The Prince of Darkness.'
But outside of his music career, he was just as well known for his love for family.
In 2002, Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack, now 39, became TV sensations with their Emmy-winning MTV reality series The Osbournes.
Their ups and downs, quirky moments and close bond played out on camera.
Ozzy had a total of six children: Jessica and Louis with ex Thelma Riley, as well as son Elliot, whom he adopted from a previous relationship. Ozzy and Sharon, who were married for more than 40 years, also shared daughters Aimee and Kelly, and son Jack.
Ozzy revealed in 2020 that he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and while the progressive neurodegenerative disorder affected his mobility, he was still present for one of Kelly's biggest moments, which came just weeks before his death.
Slipknot keyboardist Sid Wilson proposed to Kelly during Ozzy's final concert with Black Sabbath at England's Villa Park on July 5.
A video of the moment shared to Instagram showed Wilson, 48, backstage with his longtime love and her parents, telling her, "Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world," before Ozzy jokingly interjected, "F--- off, you're not marrying my daughter."
Kelly and Wilson welcomed their son Sidney in 2022.
She told PEOPLE in May 2024 that she lived with her parents during her pregnancy while Wilson toured with Slipknot.
"I did everything with him for a whole nine months," she said. "It was more than nine months because I moved back in with my parents when I was pregnant because Sid was on tour and I didn't want to be by myself."

Kelly called the time with her family an "amazing experience," adding, "I'd never give that back for anything."
This past May, Kelly told PEOPLE her 2-year-old was 'best friends' with his grandfather.
"Oh my God, they're best friends," she said of her toddler and her dad while at the 32nd Annual Race to Erase MS Gala. "So, favorite time of the day is nighttime because [Sidney] leaves me and gets in bed with my mom and dad because I'm staying in their house right now while my house is getting ready."
"And he goes and gets in bed with them and they have cartoon time together and it is the sweetest thing ever ..., " she added.

Jason Momoa's Wild Move At Ozzy Osbourne Show Was 'Not On Our 2025 Bingo Card'

's long-awaited "Back To The Beginning" concert was already destined to be one for the books, a historic final performance by Black Sabbath with their legendary frontman, but no one expected to steal the show in the most rock 'n' roll way possible. Held at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, the star-studded event marked the first time in 20 years that the original Black Sabbath lineup reunited on stage. With over 40,000 fans packed into the stadium, including the one and only Jason Momoa, the night roared to life with headbanging classics like 'War Pigs,' 'Iron Man,' and 'Paranoid.' Jason Momoa Sparks Fan Mayhem At Ozzy Osbourne's Final Show 'It's so good to be on this f-cking stage, you have no idea,' Ozzy declared as he dramatically rose from under the stage on a winged throne. 'Let the madness begin!' And madness did begin, especially once Momoa, serving as the event's master of ceremonies, went full metalhead during the festivities. In a moment that has since gone viral, the "Aquaman" and "Game of Thrones" star shocked fans by leaving the VIP section, climbing over the barricade, and diving headfirst into the crowd during Pantera's performance of 'Cowboys From Hell.' Not content to just blend in, Momoa ignited a circle pit, thrashing alongside fans and sparking chaos (the good kind) that only added to the energy of the night. Fans Lose It Over Momoa's Metal Mayhem Social media exploded with footage of the actor's wild move, with fans praising his authenticity and fearless energy. 'Moshing with Jason Momoa was not on my bingo card!' one user exclaimed. Another wrote, 'He is the coolest dude on the planet. Name one other celebrity as big as him who would do this... No one. Helps that he is a monster lol.' 'Looks like he single-handedly started the pit. There wasn't much movement before he arrived,' a fan observed, while another joked, 'Meanwhile, his bodyguard is regretting life's choices. Lol.' The comments kept rolling in, with praise like 'Legend,' 'Dope AF,' and 'Jason Momoa is the man. Goes straight to the pit to get busy at the Pantera show. Let's go!! Love this dude.' Jason Momoa Joins The Rock Legends While Momoa brought major energy, the celebration also boasted jaw-dropping performances from rock legends like , of , Guns N' Roses, Slayer, and Ronnie Wood of the . But it was the original Black Sabbath lineup and Osbourne's triumphant return that gave fans chills. After a strobing montage of his decades-spanning career, Osbourne took the stage with raw energy and visible emotion, asking the crowd, 'Have you had a good day today?' before launching into the chilling organ intro of 'Mr. Crowley.' The show reached an emotional peak with 'Mama I'm Coming Home,' during which the metal icon appeared visibly moved, his voice trembling as he stood on the stage where it all began more than 50 years ago. Ozzy Osbourne Bids Final Farewell The 76-year-old metal icon has battled through years of health challenges, including multiple spinal surgeries and a Parkinson's disease diagnosis. On his SiriusXM radio show earlier this year, Osbourne reflected on his journey, saying, 'I can't walk, but you know what I was thinking over the holidays? For all my complaining, I'm still alive.' In confirming that this would truly be his final live performance, Osbourne told The Guardian, 'I'd love to say 'never say never', but after the last six years or so … it is time. I don't want to die in a hotel room somewhere. I want to spend the rest of my life with my family.' Metal Icons Honor Black Sabbath In Emotional, Full-Circle Tribute At Ozzy's Final Show It wasn't just Ozzy who was feeling it. The entire lineup of heavy metal royalty, including Mastodon, Anthrax, and Lamb of God, honored Black Sabbath's legacy. Lamb of God brought an early standout moment with a fiery cover of 'Children of the Grave' that stirred a massive circle pit on the pitch. As the sun set, Guns N' Roses kept the momentum high with a cover of 'Sabbath Bloody Sabbath,' seamlessly launching into their own 'Welcome to the Jungle.' But the night's most heartfelt tribute came from Metallica's James Hetfield, who looked out across the massive crowd and said, 'Without Sabbath, there would be no Metallica. Thank you boys for giving us a purpose in life.' Moments like that made the sold-out bash feel like more than just a concert. It was a full-circle celebration of metal's roots, legacy, and future. And Jason Momoa's spontaneous pit dive may not have been on the schedule, but it became one of the most talked-about moments of the night. Solve the daily Crossword

Katy Perry May Be Moving on With a Politician Weeks After Claims Orlando Bloom Had a ‘Wandering Eye' While They Were Together

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom just recently broke up, and yet the two seem to be going their separate ways for real. Considering the two broke up before, for a while, and got back together, there was a certain level of interest in whether this was really definitive. But Bloom attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding solo and partied it up, and now it seems Perry might also be moving on, and with a surprising name. The singer and former Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, are reportedly hanging out. According to People, Trudeau and Perry stepped out for a meal together in Montréal on Monday, July 28. The two were seen eating at restaurant Le Violon, where they met with the chef during dinner and headed to the kitchen after their meal to thank the staff. More from StyleCaster Justin Trudeau & Katy Perry's Rumored Romance Just Took Another Step Forward After Reports Orlando Bloom Had a 'Wandering Eye' During Their Relationship Jennifer Aniston Subtly Shut Down Rumors She'd 'Jump at the Chance' to Date Orlando Bloom After Claims He's Been 'Drooling Over Her' For Years Related: See who else Katy Perry has dated TMZ reports the two enjoyed cocktails and several dishes, including one that featured lobster. Sounds very date-ish. Like Perry, Trudeau is recently separated. In August of 2023, he and his wife Sophie Grégoire announced they were splitting after 18 years of marriage. The couple shares 3 kids, Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11. In an Instagram post published in both English and French at the time, Trudeau wrote: 'Hi everyone, Sophie and I would like to share the fact that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we have made the decision to separate. As always, we remain a close family with deep love and respect for each other and for everything we have built and will continue to build. For the well-being of our children, we ask that you respect our and their privacy. Thank you.' Katy's breakup with Bloom has been even more public. There were reports that the negative reception of Perry's latest album, 143, was a big reason for the couple's unhappiness. 'Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,' People reported. 'It made her very stressed. Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.' Other sources indicated Bloom didn't exactly love Katy Perry's Blue Origin space flight, with a source telling the Daily Mail. 'He told her the whole thing looked ridiculous. He said it was cringeworthy. Embarrassing. This was in the middle of a fight, and it hurt her feelings.' That, plus reports of Bloom having a 'wandering eye' and checking out other women, after an old photo showed him doing just that with Kim Kardashian while Perry was next to him, might have been the end of their relationship. Page Six's source even said about the two, 'It's over. They are waiting till her tour is over before they split.' Ironically, the two didn't even make it to the end of Perry's tour before they announced their split. However, everyone has been taking it with a grain of salt. Another source told Us Weekly, 'It's true they're spending time apart. Their friends don't know if they are permanently split…The first time they broke up it was about two years after they got together. It's happened a few times, but they've always worked it out before.' If there's something that could prevent an eventual reunion, it might just be a new relationship. We'll just have to wait and see if Perry and Trudeau continue to hang out. Yungblud Remembers His Last Meeting With 'Hero' Ozzy Osbourne

For the prince of darkness, you sure brought all the light to the world. A smile and a voice both sinister and like a warm hug alike, teaching the world that it is beautiful to live outside of the box. To see and accept each other for who we truly are. You have been my North Star for everything for as long as I can remember, from when I felt misunderstood as a child to the way people thought I was just a little 'too much' or 'strange' throughout my life and career. What you did, who you were and how you supported me and countless others provided an avenue to run down when the world would turn its nose up. I didn't think you would leave so soon. The last time we met, you were so full of life and that iconic laugh man—a cackle that filled up every room. But as it is written with legends, they seem to know things that we don't. You will be in every single note I sing and with me every single time I walk on stage. Your cross I wear around my neck is the most precious thing I own. You asked me if there was anything you could do for me once and as I said then and as I will say now the music was enough. You started it for all of us. I promise you I will try my best and make it my life's journey to keep the spirit alive - the spirit that you started and taught me. I will give it my best shot. To sing 'Changes' for you at an event surrounded by legends inspired by you to a crowd that loved you was truly my life's greatest honor and I will play this song every night for the rest of my life. You're my hero in every regard. I'm absolutely broken. I sit here now on a flight from Tampa, Florida to London listening to 'Dreamer' trying to understand the fact that I now live in a world where there is no Ozzy Osbourne. I look for you in the clouds. I hope to see you up here 'avin a drink with Randy. You will live forever in my heart. I will never forget you.
