Ed Sheeran reveals why he's private about his kids
Ed Sheeran is "very, very private" about his children.
The 34-year-old British pop star admits that it's difficult to raise a family while living in the public eye.
Sheeran - who has daughters Lyra, four, and Jupiter, two, with his wife Cherry Seaborn - said on The Louis Theroux Podcast he was "very, very private about my children's image".
"I can't take them to zoos or parks or anything really without someone trying to film them".
"There are times where the normal parts of life I kind of mourn for and wish I could push my kid on a swing in a public park and it not be weird, you know?"
Sheeran pointed out that his kids "have not signed up" to the pitfalls of fame and success.
"People go, well that's the trade-off. But my kids have not signed up to that."
Despite his best efforts, Sheeran admits that it's impossible to shield his children from fame all the time.
The award-wining star prefers to take commercial flights because of environmental concerns but he conceded that it can lead to problems.
"We're flying back on Ryanair from a gig in Italy last year but all of my fans who'd been at the gig were flying back!
"I like the environment, I like trees. I'd find it hard to justify. No one's perfect. When we're doing intense promo trips, there will be the odd time (taking a private jet)."
Sheeran believes his music career peaked with his Divide album back in 2017. But he's actually feels much happier now.
"I'm kind of coasting now. I don't know if I'll ever get back up there again but (when I had) that level of fame, that was my unhappiest (time).
"I'm much happier with the balance I've got now."

Stormzy says his acting debut is ‘all about joy, spirit and fearless energy of youth'
Stormzy has said his acting debut is 'all about the joy, spirit and fearless energy of youth'. The 31-year-old British rapper has just launched his new production company, #Merky Films, and the performer – real name Michael Omari – will be taking the leading role in Big Man, a 24-minute short film and the first project from his new company. He said in a statement quoted by Variety: 'I hope you love our first project, Big Man, as much as we loved making it. 'For me, it's all about the joy, spirit and fearless energy of youth – that feeling like life is one big adventure and the world's your playground. 'I hope it inspires you to dream bigger, live louder, and hold on to that unapologetic energy that comes with being young.' The film, directed by Academy Award-winner Aneil Karia, tells the fictional story of Tenzman, a former rap star facing an uncertain chapter in his life. It is set for release on YouTube at 8pm on Wednesday 18 June, and was made in association with Apple. Stormzy's new venture builds on the expanding #Merky brand, which already includes #Merky Books, #Merky FC and the #Merky Foundation. Merky Films aims to increase access to television and film for Afro-Caribbean and other underrepresented communities. Its stated mission is to champion new voices by creating projects that 'connect communities, celebrate culture and inspire meaningful change'. A development deal is already in place with Netflix to create multiple projects, including a 'powerful drama series' and a 'seminal biopic', with additional talks ongoing with other film companies. Speaking about the launch of #Merky Films, Stormzy added: 'I always say: music is my first love, but film is my second. #Merky Films is something I've been dreaming about for ages – a space for powerful British stories and a solid home for fresh, unexpected art. It's a natural next step for everything we do at #Merky – sharing our stories, spotlighting important voices and making room for those who deserve to be seen and heard.' He also expressed hope the company will help elevate new talent, adding: 'We always like to give that opportunity before the world latches on and catches up. 'I definitely, in 30 or 40 years' time, want to see whoever wins the best director of the year at the Oscars to say that the first thing they directed was for #Merky Films.' Future projects from the production house will include documentaries, animations and mockumentaries.

Courtney Love has 'friend with benefits'
Courtney Love has a "friend with benefits". The 60-year-old Hole frontwoman - whose late husband, Kurt Cobain, took his own life in 1994 - has a famous lover but their relationship doesn't appear to be serious. She is quoted by the Daily Mail newspaper's Eden Confidential column as saying: "I'm a libertine, and the person that I most do my romantic c*** with is also a libertine, so we are really more friends with benefits." However, Courtney declined to name her mystery partner. She said: "I don't like talking about them because there's jealousy around that person." The Doll Parts hitmaker revealed in March she was seeking British citizenship after making a permanent move to the UK over fears about the impact of Donald Trump's second term as US president. She told an audience at the Royal Geographical Society in the UK: 'I'm really glad I'm here. It's so great to live here. I'm finally getting my British citizenship in six months. I get to be a citizen. I'm applying, man! Can't get rid of me!' The audience applauded, with led to Courtney elaborating on her concerns regarding the Republican administration in the States. She added: 'In terms of Trump and particularly this group… it's like emperor-core. Like, (they're) wearing million-dollar watches. 'Emperor-core is going on at Mar-a-Lago. It's frightening now. It's like cyanide now.' The rocker - who has 32-year-old daughter Frances Bean Cobain with late husband Kurt - admitted several years ago that her long-term plan was to settle down in London. Courtney told the Evening Standard in 2017 about her plan to move to the capital: 'I know what neighbourhood I'm going to end up in, and I know that I want to be on the Thames. 'I subscribe to this magazine called 'Country Life,' which is just real-estate porn and fox hunting. It's amazing.'
