Briton Hill wins Joburg Open in playoff against local favourites
Hill putted in for a par on the second extra hole and then watched as Kruyswijk missed a short put to hand him the title.
"It was a fantastic day and then a cherry on top," said Hill, after a final-round 62 saw him bound up the leaderboard and go into the clubhouse in the lead as the last pairings came in.
Kruyswijk birdied the 17th to join Hill on 14 under par and a spectacular put from overnight leader Norris on the 18th also earned him a place in the playoff.
Norris had a four-shot lead going into the last round but fell two off the pace midway through the back nine, before recovering to sink birdies on the last two holes and get into the playoff.
Kruyswijk carded 66 in his final round, but it was Hill who blitzed through the field with the best round of the tournament for a four-round total of 266.
The 30-year-oild Scot started the last day eight shots behind the leader but 10 birdies helped him into the playoff before he clinched his second title on the DP World Tour after the Cazzo Classic in 2021.

If you already have a William Hill account, check out more free bets from the UK's best betting sites, reviewed by our experts 7.45 Chelmsford – Class 4 Handicap (1m; Racing TV) DIXIELAND BLUES won a useful novice contest over this trip on the all-weather at Southwell in April. This Simon and Ed Crisford-trained runner was unplaced under those same conditions on his most recent start, but that wasn't a bad run in a decent handicap and he shaped as though he may just have needed the outing, his first since being gelded. The selection is a half-brother to the same stable's Group 2 winner Jadoomi and still has some potential. 8.45 Chelmsford – Class 6 handicap (1m 2f; Racing TV) NIGHT TARA hasn't shown much in three starts at 7f and 1m, but she should be suited by this step up in trip and has been found a really weak race off a lowly mark for her handicap debut. Sir Mark Prescott's runner is a half-sister to Scarlett O'Hara, who won a 1m 4f maiden and has been placed over 1m 6f in Group 3 company. Former top jockey, 33, hailed as superhero after saving child from drowning ‘moments before going under'
The former jockey insists he did nothing extraordinary HEROIC ACT Former top jockey, 33, hailed as superhero after saving child from drowning 'moments before going under' Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) A FORMER jockey has been hailed as a "superhero" after saving a child from drowning. George Chaloner, an ex-jockey who rode well over 200 winners on the Flat before his career was ended by injury at age of 25 in 2017, was holidaying in Filey in North Yorkshire last weekend. The 33-year-old spotted a youngster - described as being eight or nine years old - out at sea who had been swept out by the strong currents. Chaloner swam out to sea to save them alongside another rescuer, recalling how the lad was "about to go under". He told RacingPost: "We went on holiday to Filey with the kids. We were at the end of Filey Bay, Reighton Sands, with the boys all day. We were just about ready to go and there were some shouts of 'help' from the sea. "Everyone stopped and looked but no-one went down. After ten or 15 seconds, I went down with another tall lad. A woman at the side of the sea said 'those kids are drowning, I can't swim'. "The kids were playing in the breakers but the tide had come in and pushed them into a pool and they'd got out of their depth. I couldn't touch the floor there. "There were two girls who were shouting 'my brother, my brother!' and pointing to a little lad about 15 or 20 feet away. "He was eight or nine and when I got to him he was being pulled out by the rip tide, on his last legs and about to go under. "I got him and swam him halfway back where someone had come out with a half-bodyboard and we got him on that and brought him back." The incident would not have been publicly known were it not for his partner, Daisy Jones, who shared a Facebook post and praise him as a "real-life superhero". Match of the Day host Gabby Logan cheers on jockey daughter, Lois, as she makes racing debut at Goodwood However, humble Chaloner insisted he had not done anything extraordinary, saying of his "hero" label: "I don't know about that. "You just hope that if it was one of your kids, somebody else would do it for them." Chaloner, graduate from the National Horseracing College recalled how lifeguard training when he was young helped him cope in the strong currents, despite having not swum properly in years. He added: "The kids were fine but they were jiggered and so was I. "I'm not as fit as I used to be and I'd legged it from the top of the beach, swum out about 50 feet and brought the lad back in. I was ready for a cup of tea! "It turned out two women we had seen were the kids' mothers, but they were deaf and didn't hear them shouting; they just saw them splashing about and didn't know they were in trouble." Chaloner's biggest win as a jockey came in the Wokingham Handicap and Northumberland Plate in 2014. The retired jockey now works as a stud manager at Cliff Stud, and will be in York next week as he serves the horseman there. He said: "I work closely with the vets and doctors and monitor the horses from the stableyard, to the pre-parade ring and so on and if there's any bother I'm the first one on the scene."

The SPFL star who was 'signed and sealed' for Rangers transfer this summer and why it collapsed
He held talks with the Light Blues in January before the deal stalled Kevin Thomson claims Josh Mulligan had agreed a move to Rangers earlier this summer. But the switch collapsed after a change of ownership and recruitment at Ibrox. Mulligan, 22, was a standout for Dundee last season and attracted interest from the Light Blues in January. Gers already struck a pre-contract agreement with Dens Park teammate Lyall Cameron and were weighing up a double swoop. But the Ibrox outfit decided to pause their transfer business as the club rubberstamped the appointments of sporting director Kevin Thelwell and head of recruitment Dan Purdy. Hibs then quickly moved to the front of the queue and completed a major coup by luring the versatile star to Easter Road. Mulligan has hit the ground running in Leith and ex-Rangers and Hibs ace Thomson reckons the uncapped Scot will make the Hibees a fortune one day down the line. Thomson told Open Goal: "He's a machine. He was signed and sealed to go to Ibrox. It was all agreed, I heard. All agreed. "I think it was just the change in recruitment and ownership that stalled it a wee bit. "I don't know if it was to the degree where he was just about pen to paper. "He covers so many different positions. He probably doesn't like the word, but he's like that utility type player who can cover so many different types of positions. "Great age, physical specimen. He'll be one who can hopefully get the Hibees a few quid. Kieron Bowie will become a good asset for the club as well."
