Watch: Cyclist ends up in canal in row over 'not slowing down' - but who had right of way?
A row has broken out after a cyclist claimed she was pushed off her bike into a canal by a walker. Klaudia Mitura was cycling next to the canal on her usual morning commute when she came across a couple walking their dog. Footage from the cyclist's bike camera shows Klaudia braking in front of the couple as one of them appears to shout for her to "slow down". The 34-year-old can be heard protesting that they have a dog, but the man angrily retorts "yeah but you're on a f**king bike". He then calls her a "f***king idiot" before pushing her in the water. Klaudia, who cannot swim, said her feet were strapped on the bike pedals making it hard for her to get out - leaving her fearing she would "drown". The mum-of-two said she stepped on a rock and remained in the canal for five minutes until a passer-by spotted her and helped her out. Klaudia said the good Samaritan helped her call the police as her phone was damaged from being underwater and officers attended the scene. However the man has since spoken to the Manchester Evening News where he insisted he had not pushed her. Instead he told the publication she fell in after clipping him with her handlebar. Klaudia, a machine operator, told how she thought she could die and claimed the couple did not look back to check if she was okay after pushing her in. Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were investigating the incident but that no arrests have been made. Klaudia, who is from Poland but lives in Manchester, said: "I was on my way to work, I cycle every day this way. "As you can see in the video I was trying to pass the couple. He did not want to move out of the way. "When he passed me, he just pushed me in the water. They were gone, and didn't turn their heads to see if I'm alive or not. "I was strapped to the pedals of the bike so it was really hard to get out. I was thinking of how to get out, no one was there so I was in the water for about five minutes before someone took me out. "A man was walking down the canal and I asked him to help me out and he called the police because my mobile was broken. "I was very scared because I can't swim, I stood on a stone. I thought I would drown. "I don't know what I would do if no one had walked past me. They didn't look back to see if I'm okay or if I'm drowning. "He refused to move out of the way, I didn't do anything, I just wanted to pass him and go my way." Klaudia shared the video of the July 19 incident on TikTok where it gathered more than 600,000 views. She said: "It's good I had the camera because the police can find him." She said she had been put off cycling to work by the incident. she added: "I need help with my mental health. I'm on my own with that, I'm traumatised. It's the first time anything like this has happened. "Cycling was my main means of transport. I'm physically OK but mentally it's really bad. I need to be strong because I have two kids so I can't show them that something is wrong with me." However speaking to the MEN the man who claimed to be the person in the video said: "I was out with my girlfriend who's 26 weeks pregnant. We were walking down the canal, as you do. "A lady came down at a ridiculous speed. I thought she was going to hit my missus and my dog. I thought my family was in danger. "She's carried on to ride towards me. Then she's clipped me with the handle bars and she's gone into the canal. I didn't push her." Commenters have given their views on the incident while also claiming cyclists do not have right of way. One commenter said: "The cyclist stopped. There was room for both." Another added: "Cyclists don't have priority over people walking. Yet then expect everyone to move out their way." A third said: "Shared path with people having right of way."

Mom reveals awful way she found out about designer daughter's death
The mom of an fashion designer, who was found dead at a Hamptons yacht club this week, said her other daughter was 'crying and shaking' as she broke the news to her. Ireland-born Martha Nolan-O'Slatarra's body was found at Montauk Yacht Club, New York, on Tuesday - triggering an investigation into her death. 'I don't know what happened to my daughter,' Elma Nolan, she said days after Martha, 33, was tragically found dead. She said that her youngest daughter and Martha's sister, Jacqui, broke the horrifying news to her, saying she 'arrived on Tuesday night and she was crying and shaking.' 'She said, "I have terrible news. Martha's dead,"' Elma recalled to the Irish Independent. Investigators have not yet said how Martha died aboard a luxury yacht. No arrests have been made. Although detectives said that Nolan-O'Slatarra's body did not show signs of violence, they have not yet ruled out foul play. The 33-year-old moved to Manhattan from the small village of Carlow, Ireland in 2018, and founded fashion swimwear label East x East. Her heartbroken mom said the tragedy came as her daughter was planning a trip home to visit her family in Carlow. Recalling her last phone call with her daughter, Elma said that they briefly discussed Martha's travel plans for her vacation home to Ireland. 'She wanted to know if I would be around to pick her up,' she said. 'It was a very quick call because she is so busy. But that's the last time we spoke.' She said she has been waiting for answers over what happened to Martha, who was found unconscious aboard the docked yacht around midnight Tuesday before being declared dead at the scene. One boater at the scene described the ship as a 'party boat' and told Daily Mail she heard screams when the woman's body was found. Many in the wealthy enclave have now been left reeling as questions remain about what may have happened to the Manhattan resident, whom locals described to the New York Post as 'well-known in the community'. 'She was very friendly, always smiling,' one local said. 'There's going to be a lot of conversation out of this.' Another regular at the Yacht Club claimed Nolan-O'Slatarra's boyfriend owns the boat - which is registered in Long Beach, New York - and told Daily Mail that whenever she saw the boat owner he would be 'drunk and always messed up.' As Nolan-O'Slattara fell unconscious Monday night, she said, the boat owner was seen running outside naked screaming 'that's my girlfriend' as he tried to get help from other boaters. The fashion designer lived a ritzy lifestyle in New York City before her untimely death, and often shared pictures of herself enjoying private jets and living it up with her glamorous pals. On her TikTok account, Nolan-O'Slatarra was seen with her friends taking a Falcon jet to Nashville for a concert in 2021, with the designer highlighting her '#milehighclub' and '#privatejet' life in the captions. Last October, she shared a video of herself and a male companion drinking bubbly as they flew over a sunny, rural looking area. She captioned the short clip: 'Heli on up.' Nolan-O'Slattara also shared a TikTok clip of herself with the same man sitting in a luxurious convertible car as it drove through picturesque countryside. She grew up in the small town of Carlow, Ireland, roughly 55 miles outside of Dublin. She left home at 16 after her parents sent her to the highly regarded Institute of Education, a private secondary school in Dublin. In an interview with the Irish Independent last year, Nolan-O'Slatarra said she 'loved' her new life in New York City. 'I was the small town girl who needed to get out to achieve her big dreams,' she said, highlighting how she was 'money driven', 'business driven' and 'always knew I wanted to be successful'. After secondary school, she attended University College Dublin where she studied the fundamentals of business as an undergraduate and later earned a master's degree in digital marketing. Once she completed her degrees, Nolan-O'Slatarra interviewed for graduate scheme positions at major companies, including Deloitte and Ernst & Young, but said she was told it would be nine months before she would be informed of a hiring decision. The entrepreneur was looking for a 'change' in the interim and ended up in the US in 2015 after her dad bought her a one-way ticket to New York City, the newspaper reports. Although she only intended to be in the city for nine months, Nolan-O'Slatarra got a job at fintech start-up Street Diligence, a company that worked with what she described as 'top-tier hedge funds'. She claimed the firm's CEO offered to pursue visa sponsorship after she successfully landed investment bank Jefferies as a client. She left Street Diligence after two years, bouncing around at multiple companies before starting her firm Brand Growth Consultants in 2021. She launched several companies that same year, including her direct-to-consumer Amazon brand Duper and her resort wear line East x East, her LinkedIn page reveals. East x East had a brand shoot in Mallorca, Spain in 2023. Just weeks ago, Nolan-O'Slatarra celebrated the grand opening of the brand's popup shop at Gurney's Montauk Resort and Seawater Spa. 'Goals Achieved,' she wrote on a video shared of the shack housing her bikinis and beach wear shared on TikTok on July 1 as she encouraged the public to come visit. Nolan-O'Slatarra was also appointed director of operations at K4 Capital Management, an investment management firm, in June last year.

Woman's chin left to rot after 'horror botched surgery' at famous celebrity clinic
Gabriela Pereira, 29, was arrested by police last week after performing the laser chin surgery at Tonya Beauty in Orlando on April 16, 2024 A woman's chin was left to rot after laser surgery was allegedly performed without a medical licence. Gabriela Pereira, 29, was arrested by police last week after performing the horror surgery at Tonya Beauty in Orlando on April 16, 2024. During the procedure, the patient was allegedly burned by the laser after it was sitting too long on her chin, causing necrosis and painful blistering. The patient is said to have returned to the clinic eight times in an attempt to correct the botched procedure. It comes after a British man's final row with daughter-in-law before 'trying to drown her abroad.' According to investigators, patient Kelly Coelho had visited the spa multiple times to receive botox but could not afford the £700 laser treatment. Pereira allegedly offered to do the procedure on the hotel cleaner for free in exchange for posting pictures of her results on the Tonyabeauty Instagram account, which has more than four million followers. "Pereira provided the services in exchange for (the patient) allowing Tonya Beauty to use her photos online as a model," the affidavit says. The suspect posed as a technician with a medical licence, according to police. "Tonya Beauty is a very popular clinic among Brazilians, with a lot of actresses and singers coming from Brazil to get procedures done," the affidavit says. "They are very popular on social media, including Instagram, and are known to have gained the trust of Brazilians for cosmetic procedures in the United States." An arrest warrant for Pereira was filed on July 29. She faces nine counts of practicing medicine without a license, nine counts of practicing a health care profession without a valid license, and two counts of dispensing medical drugs without a licence. "You go there trusting that they're going to do what you contacted them for and do a good job," Coelho's lawyer Felipe Mavromatis told Koco News. Tonya Beauty hit back on its Instagram page and insisted it had all necessary licences . "With over 10 years of experience in the market, we have built a solid reputation based on trust, professionalism, and excellence in advanced aesthetics," the post said. Tonya Beauty has been approached by The Mirror for comment. It comes after a botched surgery in New York saw a young mum die after she was operated on by a fake doctor. María Paz Peñaloza visited Felipe Hoyos-Foronda, 37, from New York, on March 28 to remove her butt implants after he reportedly posed as a plastic surgeon on TikTok. The 31-year-old visited the so-called clinic for the £1,400 procedure when Hoyos-Foronda, who claimed to be a certified doctor from Colombia, administered lidocaine to Peñaloza through a syringe. Within minutes of being injected with the local anaesthetic to numb the area, María suffered a cardiac arrest. She was rushed to the hospital but died two weeks later after her life support was turned off as she had "no brain activity", her heartbroken family said.
