BLACKPINK is reportedly preparing to release a mini album in November, but their agency, YG Entertainment, neither confirmed nor denied the claim.
BLACKPINK has been thrilling fans with their ongoing world tour. Now, there's a buzz that Lisa, Jisoo, Rose and Jennie might surprise everyone with a new music album before the year ends. According to a source from the South Korean music industry, the group is reportedly preparing to release a mini album in November.
For the new album, the members have reportedly completed the cover photoshoot and are expected to wrap up recording in the next two months. While fans are excited, nothing has been confirmed yet. Their agency, YG Entertainment, neither confirmed nor denied the claim, but simply stated they will share updates later.
BLACKPINK's Possible November Comeback And Agency's Response
My Daily was the first outlet to break the news about the girl group's comeback album. A source close to the group said, 'BLACKPINK needs to release an album within the year. The original goal was to release it in October, but the schedule has changed. They plan to release it in November and possibly perform on music shows."
However, BLACKPINK's agency, YG Entertainment, quickly dismissed the claim. A spokesperson told Newsen, 'We will announce it later through an official promotion."
Celebrating Nine Years
If BLACKPINK's rumoured November comeback happens, it would mark their first album release since Born Pink in 2022. This year holds special significance for the group as they celebrate their ninth anniversary. Ahead of the milestone, they dropped the single JUMP on July 11, which topped major music charts in South Korea and internationally.
Currently, BLACKPINK is on their DEADLINE world tour, which kicked off at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in South Korea. They have completed the North American leg, performing in cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and New York. This week, they will take the stage in London, before continuing the tour in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Hong Kong between October and December.
Since their last album in 2022, all four BLACKPINK members, Jennie, Rose, Lisa and Jisoo released their music. Lisa made her acting debut in season three of The White Lotus. Jisoo played the lead role in the zombie comedy series, Newtopia, before making her film debut in Omniscient Reader: The Prophet.

Music Box Films acquires rights to Petra Volpe's Late Shift, Switzerland's official Oscar entry

Music Box Films has locked in North American rights to Late Shift, Petra Volpe's tense hospital-set drama that Switzerland just announced as its official entry for the Oscars' international feature race. According to Variety, the deal comes as the film continues a strong run in Europe, where it is already sold in more than 50 territories through sales outfit TrustNordisk. Still from Late Shift trailer(YouTube/Madman Films) Leonie Benesch - fresh off acclaim for The Teachers' Lounge - leads the film as Floria, a surgical ward nurse fighting to keep patients safe during an understaffed, high-pressure shift. What starts as a routine day unravels into an urgent, ticking-clock ordeal. Volpe wrote and directed, with Reto Schaerli and Lukas Hobi producing for Zodiac Pictures. Strong festival run Late Shift bowed at the Berlin Film Festival in February, drawing critical praise and racking up more than 650,000 admissions across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The movie's mix of procedural realism and human warmth has made it accessible to audiences well beyond its Swiss roots. Brian Andreotti, head of acquisitions at Music Box, called it 'a grounded thriller that is readily relatable to anyone who spends their working day on their feet.' He added that Benesch's performance 'drives home the dignity and strength of nurses everywhere," reports Variety. Late Night Host Jimmy Kimmel Gets Italian Citizenship, Says US Under Trump ‘Worse Than...'

Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel opens the door to a possible exit from the US, while urging voters to keep an open mind about Trump. Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has revealed that he obtained Italian citizenship this year, partly as an exit option amid growing concerns about President Donald Trump's administration. Speaking on The Sarah Silverman Podcast, Kimmel said the political situation in the US was 'as bad as you thought it was gonna be," adding, 'It's so much worse; it's just unbelievable. I feel like it's probably even worse than he would like it to be." Kimmel's move follows a trend among celebrities such as Rosie O'Donnell and Ellen DeGeneres, who left the country after Trump defeated Kamala Harris in last year's presidential election. O'Donnell, a frequent Trump critic, recently told Variety she had no plans to return to the US anytime soon, citing concerns for her child's safety and the political climate. Kimmel regularly targets Trump in his late-night monologues, which has led to Trump publicly threatening the cancellation of Jimmy Kimmel Live. Trump claimed it would be the next show to go after CBS cancelled Stephen Colbert's The Late Show. Responding on air, Kimmel said: 'I'm hearing you're next. Or maybe it's just another wonderful secret," referencing a Wall Street Journal report about a letter Trump sent to Jeffrey Epstein in 2003. On the podcast, Kimmel also addressed the backlash faced by those who change their minds about Trump. Responding to criticism directed at figures like Joe Rogan for questioning Trump's policies, Kimmel said the door must remain open for voters reconsidering their positions. 'Now you see these clips of Joe Rogan saying, 'Why is he doing this? Why are you deporting people?' And people go, 'Fuck you! You supported him.' I don't buy into that," Kimmel said. 'The door has to stay open. If you want to change your mind, that's so hard to do. If you want to admit you were wrong, that is so hard and so rare to do. You are welcome [to do so]." While Kimmel remains committed to hosting his late-night show on ABC, his Italian citizenship gives him a possible way out, joining a number of celebrities who have considered or made moves abroad due to their concerns about Trump's presidency. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's.
