This actor smoked 200 cigarettes, became an alcoholic, ate chicken, got addicted to bad habits because..., he is...
Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is known for his calm and simple lifestyle, never used to consume alcohol or eat meat. But he was not always like this; later he made changes in his lifestyle. You'll be shocked to know that Big B was once a chain smoker, and was a big fan of non-vegetarian diet? Yes, you read that right, and it's the Amitabh Bachchan we are talking about. Let's uncover the past of Bollywood's legendary actor.
In an old interview with India Today in 1980, Amitabh Bachchan opened up about his past that he was a chain-smoker and an alcoholic and even a non-vegetarian. He revealed that the reason for getting away from these habits was not religious belief but the practical struggle to find vegetarian food while travelling abroad. Interestingly, Amitabh revealed that both his wife Jaya Bachchan and his mother Teji love meat and it never bothered him.
He had said, 'I don't smoke, drink, or eat meat. It is not a religious matter, but it is just a matter of taste. In our family, my father is a vegetarian and my mother is not. Similarly, Jaya eats non-veg and I don't. I used to eat meat… In fact, I used to drink and smoke too, but now I have given up all that.' Big B further said, 'In Calcutta I used to smoke 200 cigarettes a day – yes, that's right, 200, but then I quit it after coming to Bombay. I also used to drink alcohol, like anything, whatever we could get our hands on, but a few years ago I decided that I don't really need it. My habits don't give me any problems, except when I am shooting abroad. Then, it becomes difficult to get vegetarian food.' Amitabh revealed his short-tempered nature
In the same interview, Amitabh Bachchan openly talked about his non-violent nature, but he admitted that he was a bit angry in his younger days. 'I don't think I am a violent person myself. Nor do I lose my temper often.' He said, 'Of course, I was involved in some fights in my college days, but that's all. Violence on screen is very unrealistic. It should be spectacular, and people accept it as such.' If we talk about the work front, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the pan-India Kalki 2898 AD, and after this, he appeared in South cinema in Rajinikanth's Vettaiyaan.

‘If you want to raid his house, 4 am is a good time': Riteish Deshmukh believes Akshay Kumar's early morning habit to be his best asset
During the promotions of his latest release, Raid 2, Riteish Deshmukh indulged in a fun, rapid-fire conversation. The interviewee asked him what he would like to raid from the houses of his fellow industry peers, and the Bollywood actor's answers were both sharp and witty. When it comes to his Raid 2 co-star Ajay Devgan's house, Deshmukh said one can find all sorts of medicines and a cure for every ailment in his house. So, according to him, 'you will be raiding a lot of good medical advice'. If you raid Shah Rukh Khan's house, he has a wonderful library, hence 'you will be raiding a lot of wisdom', and when it comes to Salman Khan's house, 'goodness, positivity, and food' was the actor's reply. 'The entire family is so welcoming — right from Salman bhai to Salim uncle to Arpita to everyone,' he told India Today. Coming to his former co-star Akshay Kumar, Deshmukh said: 'If you want to raid Akshay's house, 4 in the morning is a good time. I mean, whoever is raiding will get raided, because he will put everyone on exercise.' Kumar has repeatedly expressed his dedication to fitness in interviews and media appearances. In a video that went viral a few weeks ago, the Sarfira actor told podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia: 'I won't put pressure on myself at the cost of my health. I think the man who is healthy is the wealthiest. In reality, this is what every person would like to be.' A post shared by Akshay Kumar (@akshaykumar) In fact, his Singh is Kinng co-actor Manoj Pahwa shared his experience working with him, elaborating on his strict schedule: 'At 7.45 pm sharp, his trainer used to come with his food. Around 8.30 pm, he used to leave as he is used to sleeping at 9.15-9.30 pm. He gets up at 4 am to work out for 2-2.5 hours. It's not easy. It was a learning experience for me,' he had revealed. Akshay Kumar's commitment to health and wellness reiterates the importance of taking care of oneself, said Spoorthi S, fitness expert at Cult, adding that being a fitter version of yourself is the most valuable gift you can give yourself. 'If you start eating and exercising right, you will cultivate habits you can sustain in the long run and also prevent many conditions that tend to creep up on you as you age,' she said. According to her, there are three facets that one should keep in mind in this regard: Strength training: As you start to age, your muscles tend to atrophy (break down) and bones tend to get weak and brittle. 'Performing any resistance training helps you to build muscle and improve bone density. Lifting weights for at least three days a week can help you build stronger muscles, improve joint health, and prevent injuries,' said Spoorthi. Prioritise mindfulness: Focus on stress-relieving methods and quality sleep so your body gets adequate recovery. Cultivate healthy lifestyle habits: Don't stop enjoying your favourite foods, or go on extreme diets. Simple habits like prioritising protein, including fruits or vegetables in all meals, minimising processed foods and alcohol, and eating mindfully without distractions, can help you focus on choosing a healthier path in terms of eating. India's most expensive film was rejected by Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan got the lead role, the film became superhit, earned Rs…, lead actress was…
Every year, Bollywood produces a variety of films, each with its budget and cast. While filmmakers research industry trends and what consumers want, forecasting whether a film will be a success or a flop at the box office remains a difficult task. Today, we'll look at the story of a classic film from 1980. Interestingly, it was originally planned with a different cast but ran into various production issues before making it to the big screen. Let's find out about the film. The Action-Thriller Film… Here we're talking about Shaan , a film directed by Ramesh Sippy and scripted by Salim-Javed , following the success of the mega blockbuster Sholay . Ramesh Sippy was eager to replicate the success of Sholay with Shaan. Sunil Dutt , on the other hand, played the role that was originally offered to Sanjeev Kumar , Bindiya Goswami, to Hema Malini and Shashi Kapoor , to Dharmendra . Shaan was reportedly rejected by the original Sholay cast, which did not include Amitabh Bachchan , due to scheduling conflicts and some creative differences. The Box-Office Reception and Multi-Starrer Cast Of Shaan Shaan, released in December 1980, became the most expensive Indian film created up to that point. Sunil Dutt, Shashi Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha , Raakhee Gulzar, Parveen Babi, Bindiya Goswami, Mazhar Khan, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda played the crucial parts. Shaan had an average box office performance upon its initial release, but did well in reruns. Shaan, which was produced on a budget of Rs 4.2 crores , reportedly grossed Rs 12.5 crores at the box office. Amitabh Bachchan, along with Bindiya Goswami, rose to prominence as a result of their performances in the film. However, things took a dramatic turn for Bindiya when she decided to take a break from performing after getting divorced from her unsuccessful marriage with actor Vinod Mehra and she later eloped with film director JP Dutta because their families were not ready for their romance. This action-thriller was not able to magnify its success factor just like Shaan but due to its intriguing storyline and soothing music tracks this film earned cult status for the masses.
