GOAL! The Candystripes hit the net! St.Patrick's Athletic 0 – Derry City 1

29' First yellow card of the game is shown to John Mountney who slid in dangerously in a duel for possession with ex-Bohs man Danny Grant.

25' CLOSE! Better from Stephen Bradley's side as Byrne whips in a second free-kick which is put behind for a corner by John Mountney. Bohs defend the corner well - Mountney picks up the ball from Dayle Rooney on the counter and narrowly fires over the crossbar. Ed McGinty was at full stretch there!
22' Shamrock Rovers finally get an attacking platform with a free on the right-hand side. Jack Byrne crosses it in, but it's deep and James Clarke is back there to snuff out the danger.
Dan McDonnell provides the tactical update from Dalymount Park:
Bohs have definitely arrived to this game with a solid gameplan. A basic part of a match report is listing the formation of the teams but there's an extremely fluid look to this Bohs set-up.
They are effectively playing without a recognised striker and there's a rotation between Rooney, Ross Tierney, James Clarke and sometimes Adam McDonnell in terms of who is most advanced.
It can be a back five without the ball but a back four on it. Dawson Devoy is the one constant in a central midfield role but otherwise there's a lot of movement.
17' Alan Reynolds' men are suffocating Rovers! They've already taken 6 shots on goal and earned themselves 3 corners thus far. The wind is definitely playing a factor, but Bohs look really sharp.
Dawson Devoy fires over from outside the box as Ed McGinty goes down - perhaps just a bit of game management from the Hoops goalkeeper here!

13' It's been all Bohemians so far as James Clarke continues to cause havoc. The 24-year-old manages to scuff a shot towards goal, but McGinty smothered it with little difficulty.

Dan McDonnell notes the effects of the weather in Dalyer this evening:
There's a decent wind helping Bohemians here and they have been relentless in the early minutes here.
Ross Tierney has twice threatened since the breakthrough goal. Real intensity and energy and Rovers look to be rattled - a complete contrast from their demeanour in recent weeks.

Interim boss Joey O'Brien coy on Shelbourne future
Shelbourne interim head coach Joey O'Brien refused to be drawn on whether or not he would want the position on a full-time basis following Monday's 2-2 draw with Waterford at the RSC. O'Brien had been Damien Duff's number two at Tolka Park ever since the latter's appointment in late 2021, but was thrust into the main position after Duff's shock resignation on Sunday that rocked the League of Ireland. Duff has since been linked with a coaching job at Premier League side Brentford should Keith Andrews be appointed. O'Brien had little time to prepare his side for their visit to Waterford but was pleased with what he saw. However when asked afterwards if its a role he would like to continue in long term, he was non-committal. "(I was) shocked and stunned as much as the whole football club was," he said. "There was a job to do, we get paid, and we're the luckiest people in the world for the jobs that we have. "This is part of the game. I've spoken to the lads about it over the last few weeks because I've been a professional footballer and the demands and the stuff you have to put on, I think that has been misquoted in the press, stuff being said as a bad thing. It's not a bad thing. "When you're a professional footballer you are the luckiest player in the world, but you have to demand performances, demand your own standards, how you live, it's a constant. "I spoke to them yesterday, that this is the other side of professional football, something unexpected can happen like that. What do you do? The only thing you do is you get paid by the football club to perform, and that's your job. I felt that all of them stood up tonight and put in a performance." The timing of Duff's dramatic departure from the holders caught everyone by surprise, especially with a looming Champions League clash with Irish League kingpins Linfield just weeks away, but O'Brien paid tribute to what he had achieved at the club. "It was a shock for everyone at the football club, myself included. "Listen, from a personal point of view I absolutely loved the manager and he'll always be my manager. We had some great times and he built this really and the success we've had over the last few years, I don't think it would have been possible without him." On the performance in trying circumstances, O'Brien was more than happy but felt they should have been coming home with three points rather than one with Daniel Kelly being denied by the crossbar in the final play. "I told them, 'this is our job. This football club is going to be here well after all of us are gone and it was here well before all of us. Go out and put in a performance for yourself, for the man next to you and for the football club.' "I thought they all did that, I thought some of the individual performances were disappointing thing of the whole day is the lads didn't get the three points that I think they really deserved but it probably sums up our season." Waterford boss John Coleman was in no doubt that his side were second best all evening, and he said he was responsible for a lot of that. "I said to our lads in there, all credit for not throwing the towel in. "We got very disjointed in the second half and I've got to take the blame for that because I've made two positional changes, shoving players here, there and everywhere when we haven't really prepared for that."

Shelbourne begin life after Damien Duff with a draw as Harry Wood brace salvages a point against Waterford in thriller

And he could have been celebrating seven minutes into added time. O'Brien proclaimed in his post-match interview that it was a 'mad 24 hours' and that the players were 'shocked' by Duff's departure early on Sunday morning, but that his players were 'paid professionals', and it was Daniel Kelly who nearly won him his first game in the hotseat only to rattle the bar. The post-Duff era was only three minutes old when the champions struck the front. The madness continued five minutes later as Shels gifted their hosts an equalising goal. McMullan's long clearance was touched back to Kameron Ledwidge but his header to stopper Conor Kearns fell short before Grant Horton nipped in between defender and keeper to finish to an empty net. Paddy Barrett got his clearance all wrong and Conan Noonan's effort was parried by Kearns but striker Amond was on hand to finish the rebound from close range. Sixty seconds later though, interim chief O'Brien was celebrating after Mark Coyle made a lung-bursting run towards goal. Daniels rescues point for relegation-threatened Cork City with 96th-minute goal
Cork City 1 Drogheda United 1 Stephen Barry reports from Turner's Cross DJENAIRO DANIELS RESCUED a 96th-minute point for relegation-threatened Cork City as Drogheda United failed to hold out at Turner's Cross. But Seani Maguire headed over from four yards in the eighth added minute as Ger Nash's side couldn't snap their 10-game winless streak. Sligo Rovers' win saw them fall four points away from the relegation play-off berth in front of 1,815 fans. A week since their expulsion from the Uefa Conference League was confirmed, Drogs hoped to rebuild their European dreams with back-to-back wins. But Shane Farrell's fantastic free-kick wasn't enough as they dropped to third. Earlier on Monday, City announced the signing of Rory Feely from Crawley Town for an undisclosed fee. Like Colchester United recruit Fiacre Kelleher, the ex-Bohs defender will be available to play from the start of July. That duo are urgently required as City failed again to keep a first clean sheet of the season. Nash made four changes from Friday's 4-1 defeat to Shamrock Rovers. He recalled captain Charlie Lyons, Maguire, Seán Murray, and Matthew Kiernan, who recently completed his Leaving Cert. Advertisement Cathal O'Sullivan, Evan McLaughlin, Malik Dijksteel, and Josh Fitzpatrick dropped to the centre-back George Cooper pulled up injured in the opening stages as Aaron Harper-Bailey deputised. City mirrored Drogs' 3-5-2 formation and started in spirited fashion. But it was the visitors celebrating in the 12th minute. Milan Mbeng wasn't happy as referee Alan Patchell penalised him for fouling Ryan Brennan under a dropping ball. Shane Farrell stepped up and unleashed a sublime 25-yard curler over the wall, which clipped off the post on its way to the net. City are quickly becoming the 24-year-old's favourite opposition as both his goals this season have come against the Leesiders. That would be Drogs' only shot of the half. In their customary style, Doherty's side were happy to soak up pressure as City held 74% of possession. Daniels had a header in front of goal, but didn't connect properly. Greg Bolger's corners led to a couple more aerial attempts. Darragh Crowley couldn't turn the ball back towards the target, while Lyons didn't threaten with his effort. In between, Crowley's brilliant floated pass over the cover found Maguire, who guided his looping header wide. Nash called on O'Sullivan at half-time in an attack-minded move. The teenage talent fired high and wide with his first attempt. City continued to struggle to translate control into shots on target. From a botched Drogheda clearance, Maguire got the ball stuck in his feet, and Daniels couldn't generate power on the eventual header. When a defensive mix-up handed Drogs a counter-attack opportunity, Kitt Nelson raced back to foil Douglas James-Taylor. The No.10 got another bite of the cherry moments later from Freddie Anderson's poor touch. Tein Troost reacted sharply to save his defender's blushes by parrying over the crossbar. O'Sullivan had a pair of shots blocked before teeing up Rio Shipston, who sidefooted over with the best chance of the half. Shipston's quality cross invited a Maguire header straight at Luke Dennison. It looked like City had run out of time until Fitzpatrick's cross was met by Daniels' bullet header for his fifth goal of the season. Then, Mbeng fizzed a ball across for Maguire, who diverted over the bar. CORK CITY: Tein Troost; Darragh Crowley (Cathal O'Sullivan 46), Freddie Anderson, Charlie Lyons; Milan Mbeng, Seán Murray (Rio Shipston 64), Kitt Nelson (Malik Dijksteel 77), Greg Bolger (Evan McLaughlin 68), Matthew Kiernan (Josh Fitzpatrick 68); Seani Maguire, Djenairo Daniels. DROGHEDA UNITED: Luke Dennison; George Cooper (Aaron Harper-Bailey 8), Conor Keeley, Andrew Quinn; Owen Lambe, Ryan Brennan (Darragh Markey 67), Shane Farrell, Luke Heeney, Conor Kane; Douglas James-Taylor, Warren Davis (Thomas Oluwa 78). Referee: Alan Patchell (Dublin).
