Sky Sports in talks with TV star Roman Kemp to be part of football coverage after seven presenters left in huge shake up

SKY SPORTS are in talks with TV host Roman Kemp over a role within their football coverage, reports claim.
It comes two weeks after Sky confirmed the departures of seven senior reporters as part of a major redundancy programme.

Long-serving presenter Rob Wotton announced his exit after 30 years in a tearful farewell live on air in May.
But Sky bosses have remained tight-lipped about the changes.
And now The Mail have sensationally claimed that Kemp, 32, is in line for a shock hosting role on a new footie show at Sky.
The son of former Spandau Ballet star Martin, Kemp is a presenter on BBC flagship programme The One Show.
The big-time Arsenal fan was linked with a role on Match of the Day when it emerged that Gary Lineker would quit at the end of the season.
The Mail reports that Sky have entered discussions with Kemp as part of their ongoing bid to attract new audiences.
Kemp has a huge online following and is popular with a younger audience thanks to a long stint hosting the Breakfast Show on Capital FM.
Sky made a series of redundancies as part of a restructure in May.

The cull impacted seven reporters and presenters, amid a desire to make the station more agile and "better equipped to serve audiences".
Fellow presenters Teddy Draper and Jasper Taylor will leave this summer, along with senior reporters Jeremy Langdon and Melissa Reddy and Fadumo Olow.
Senior Football Reporter Reddy was a new recruit three years ago, but has covered most of the biggest stories in the Premier League.
Sky insist the changes are not primarily a cost-cutting measure.

Belgian club Leuven dismiss former Wales manager Coleman

June 12 (Reuters) - Former Wales manager Chris Coleman has been fired by OH Leuven six months after joining them, the Belgian club said. The former Wales defender was appointed in December by Leuven, whose owners also control Leicester City, and he led them to an 11th-place finish, enough to qualify for playoffs for a potential spot in European club competition next season. "In those playoffs, the performances remained below expectations. That is why the club is now opting for change with a view to next season and is ending the collaboration with Coleman," Leuven said in a statement. Coleman, 55, took Wales to the European Championship semi-finals in 2016. He also managed English clubs Fulham, Sunderland and Coventry City, and Spain's Real Sociedad.

What are the aims of Cherries academy?

Following the release of a behind-the-scenes documentary focused on the Bournemouth academy, Cherries academy manager Sam Gisborne spoke to BBC Radio Solent about the youth setup at the club: "It's in a really good spot. Last season was our second season as a category two academy and we want to get to a point where we are a category one academy."Our mission is 'affect the 25' where every year we want to be affecting the 25-man squad that is involved in the Premier League. Our long-term vision is to develop our first team-captains."There is no standing still in the academy - we are in a really good spot but we still have a long way to go."Listen to the full interview with Sam Gisborne on BBC Sounds

Reid 30 years on: 'I had to find £700 from somewhere'

Former Sunderland manager Peter Reid - who twice won the Black Cats promotion into the Premier League - has been looking back on taking charge of the club 30 years ex-Everton and Manchester City player took the reigns in March 1995 with Sunderland battling relegation in the second tier, but with seven games of the season remaining, Reid oversaw just the one loss and managed to keep them to BBC Radio Newcastle in a special episode, Reid recalled: "They were great games, the Sheffield United one was a very important one and I always thank Craig [Russell] for coming on as a sub and getting the winner," Reid said."To be fair, the crowd played their part and obviously the players, the players were magnificent. I think we went to Derby and beat them as well which was a fantastic result."After the Sheffield United game, I remember going to the chairman and saying 'listen I need to get something for the players so give me £500 to take them out' and the bill came to about £1200 so I had to find £700 from somewhere."So I was fining the lads for mis-passing the ball in training and everything and once I got the £700 I told them 'it's over now lads' and I told them the story and they took it all in the spirit that it was meant."
