The Gold is set to wrap up its second series in just a matter of hours. After a two year break it returned for a globe-trotting outing featuring plenty of exotic locations.
As the Brink's-Mat task force attempts to track down the other half of the stolen gold, the investigation takes them to locations like Costa Rica, Tortola, Tenerife and the Isle of Man. Ahead of the finale, a disappointing verdict has been delivered on the show's future - find out more.
Hugh Bonneville has returned to once again lead the cast of the hit BBC drama - which is based on a true story. He has been joined by plenty of returning faces as well as lots of new ones as the scope of the investigation expands across the world.

1 . Series 2 - Firle, Sussex
This picturesque village in Southern England was used during filming for The Gold series two. Pictured here during the Queen's Jubilee back in 2022. It is located between Eastbourne and Brighton and is known for Firle Place - an estate dating back over 500 years. 2 . Series 2 - Hastings, Sussex
Despite parts of the show being set on the Isle of Man - particularly involving the new character of Douglas Baxter - the film crews used a bit of movie magic and actually filmed the scenes in Hastings. It is one of a few locations in the county used in series 2. Another of the Sussex locations used for The Gold series 2, St Leonards-on-Sea (as its full title goes) has had plenty of past experiences of being used in movies and TV. 4 . Series 2 - Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain
The show featured many globe trotting locations in series 2 - from the Canary Islands and mainland Spain to Costa Rica and the United States. However the majority of these scenes were actually filmed in the same place - Tenerife. Versatile locations across the island were used for stand-ins for the many exotic locales. The BBC are yet to announce exactly when the show will be back on air, however fans can look forward to Strictly Come Dancing waltzing it's way back onto screens this autumn. They have revealed that returning this year will be Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Carlos Gu, Gorka Márquez, Johannes Radebe, Jowita Przystał, Kai Widdrington, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Lauren Oakley, Luba Mushtuk, Michelle Tsiakkas, Nadiya Bychkova, Nancy Xu, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Vito Coppola and last year's winner Dianne Buswell. There will also be two brand new professional dancers joining the team, who will be revealed closer to the return of the show. Houser via Getty Images ) Theme park staff stopped a British man who allegedly staged a fake wedding with a nine year-old girl. The ceremony was seen by huge crowds under the iconic castle at Disneyland Paris. The 22 year-old is man was said to have played the role of the "groom" in strange event at dawn on June 21 beneath thepark's Sleeping Beauty castle. He told police that the "wedding" was staged for a social media video. Disneyland Paris staff reportedly intervened and alerted authorities when spotted a nine year-old Ukrainian child dressed as a bride. The can be booked outside public visiting hours, and the organisers are said to have reserved it for what they claimed would be an authentic wedding ceremony, reported Yorkshire Live .and the Express. Footage obtained by French broadcaster BFM TV showed around 100 guests seated before the ceremony began while a female violin trio performed in front of a flower-adorned stage, the Times reported. The event is said to have cost the organiser €130,000 (£111,229). Alexandre Verney, assistant prosecutor for the Seine-et-Marne département, said: "Four people were arrested and questioned: the groom, who was believed to be the organiser of the event and is presumed to be British and aged 22; the mother of the child, a 41-year-old Ukrainian woman; and two Latvian nationals aged 55 and 24. "It wasn't a wedding but a staged wedding that was to be filmed with a hundred extras. They privatised Disneyland, claiming that it was a real marriage." Article continues below The mother and the older Latvian were released after the child was medically examinaned, which showed no signs of abuse or restraint, it was reported. But the British man and the other Latvian were stopped for questioning over potential money laundering and fraud offences, said the prosecutor's office. Disney thanked its staff for halting the peculiar proceedings. A witness told Le Parisien: "We were not informed at any point that it was about a film shoot. We all believed we were going to be part of a wedding. Everyone was shocked. No one saw this coming. Disneyland handles things very well. They immediately cancelled when they realised that the bride was a child. We were appalled by that."

Sad and lonely man created AI images of child abuse using photos of celebrities Mark Barnfield, 43, later told police he used the AI images, which depicted children as young as two years old, to 'train himself' not to have a sexual interest in children (Image: Getty Images ) A "sad and lonely" man spent hours a day on his computer generating AI images depicting child abuse by using photographs of real celebrities. He would use the photographs to create graphic images depicting children as young as two years old being sexually abused by adults. Mark Barnfield, 43, of Barry, was arrested after police officers attended his home on February 28 after intelligence was received regarding indecent images of children. He told the officers he had been creating AI images of celebrities and said "I don't give a f*** on the computer, it's my mindset." A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday heard an ASUS laptop was seized and forensically examined. For the latest court reports sign up to our crime newsletter. A total of 332 category A images were discovered, as well as 91 category B images, 1,014 category C images and four prohibited images. Prosecutor Abigail Jackson said none of the images depicted real children but were created using AI. The images were so realistic, they were legally categorised as photographs. The children depicted in the images were between two and 14 years old, with the most serious showing female children being vaginally and anally penetrated by adult men. Article continues below Examination of Barnfield's browsing history showed he had been searching for terms including "porn kids incest" and searching for celebrities including actress Emma Stone, using AI to make them appear younger. When the defendant was interviewed, he told officers he created the images himself having "got bored of pornography". He denied having a sexual interest in children and created the AI images to "train himself not to have such an interest". Barnfield, of Spires Walk, later pleaded guilty to three counts of making indecent images of children, and one count of possessing prohibited images of children. The court heard he has four previous convictions, none of which are relevant to the current charges. In mitigation, Andrew Taylor said his client's mother has multiple sclerosis and should he be sent to prison, it would be left for his full-time employed sister to care for her. The barrister described the defendant as a "sad, lonely and vulnerable individual" who "became obsessed" by pornography and making AI images. Sentencing, Judge Daniel Williams said he recognised no real children were depicted in the AI Images, but added: "This activity can only fuel the disgusting abuse of such children involved in these images". Barnfield was sentenced to a two-year community order and was fined £500. Article continues below He was also made subject to a rehabilitation activity requirement of 25 days, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years and sex offender notification requirements for five years.
