Is Texas A&M's star running back being overlooked on the national stage?
After losing to the Gamecocks, Texas A&M finished 8-5, including the season-finale loss to rival Texas in the first matchup in more than a decade. While the offseason negativity among the fan base has slowly dissipated, the national focus on the Aggies' star-studded roster is bizarre. Still, in a world where Arch Manning is now Texas's starting quarterback, it's hard to share the spotlight.
Outside of starting quarterback Marcel Reed needing to improve in the pocket, the return of Le'Veon Moss in the backfield, paired with Amari Daniels, Reuben Owens, and EJ Smith all returning, Texas A&M's running game could be the best unit in the SEC, starting, and ending with Moss staying healthy throughout the year.
On Tuesday, On3 host J.D. PicKell described his confusion regarding the lack of Moss's national coverage after averaging over six yards per carry before his injury during the 2024 season, racking up 765 yards and ten touchdowns before his injury.
"Le'Veon Moss is the best running back that averaged six yards per carry before he got hurt, that is getting zero love in the preseason" PicKell stated. "I think you can probably bet Tennessee to lead the conference in rushing based on how they've run the ball the last couple of years, but if you're not betting Tennessee, I might bet Texas A&M will lead the conference in rushing."
PicKell went on to note that OC Collin Klein's offense is now better suited to Marcel Reed's skill set compared to last season, and how that will impact the offense in 2025.
"Marcel Reed now have the offense built to his skill set, which it wasn't this time last year, built for Conner Weigman last year where they adjusted on the fly, and Collin Klein, who was a mobile quarterback back when he played, so he's calling plays similar to his skillset in Marcel Reed."
Suppose Texas A&M's running game finds its footing, combined with Marcel Reed's ability to run the ball and make plays out of structure in the passing game. In that case, I expect the Aggies to be one of the top offenses in the SEC and one of the most formidable opponents to prepare for on a weekly basis.

Super Bowl champion Bryan Braman dies at age of 38 after cancer diagnosis
Bryan Braman, who helped the Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl in the 2017 season, has died at the age of 38. Braman's agent said the linebacker, who also played for the Houston Texans, had died on Thursday. He is survived by his two children, aged 11 and eight. According to a GoFundMe page set up to help Braman with his medical expenses, he was diagnosed with cancer in February. The page had raised $88,000 and many of his former teammates had given donations, including JJ Watt, who contributed $10,000. Qualified NFL players are eligible for health insurance for five years after they retire. Braman's final season came in 2017, with the Super Bowl his last ever professional game. Braman joined the Texans in 2011 as an undrafted free agent after stints with Long Beach City College, Idaho and West Texas A&M in college. He soon established himself on special teams and was known for his punt blocking ability. Once such highlight came with the Eagles, whom he joined in 2014, during their Super Bowl run when he blocked a punt by the Atlanta Falcons in a tight 15-10 win in the divisional round. He recorded one tackle in the Super Bowl itself as the Eagles beat the New England Patriots 41-33 to win their first NFL championship since the 1960 season.

Double-ACL injury or not, this Cowboy is sleeper at the TE position for 2025
The Dallas Cowboys are pretty set at the tight end position in 2025. Their top three spots are essentially written in ink with Jake Ferguson, Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford all but certain to claim active spots on the final 53-man roster. There's a temptation to name Spann-Ford the sleeper of the TE room, but his buzz has been so active, and the hype has been so prevalent, he's become the furthest thing from a sleeper. Spann-Ford is expected to earn similar snaps to Schoonmaker and there's hope he'll eventually compete for TE1 someday in the not-too-distant future. He's too good of a prospect and too forefront on the minds of Cowboys Nation to be a sleeper. No, the sleeper is a player Cowboys fans know but might have forgotten. He's a player who's flashed playmaking ability in the past but injuries and circumstances have always gotten in the way of opportunity. He's a player, who even now, could shine in training camp and force the Cowboys to go four-deep at the TE position in 2025. It's John Stephens, Jr. At 6-foot-5, 221-pounds, Stephens is the leanest TE on the Dallas roster. A converted receiver, Stephens displays pass catching ability the others do not on this roster. It's those plays downfield that's allowed the 25-year-old to stand out in previous training camps and it's what earned him a place on the team just one season ago. Unfortunately for Stephens, his 2024 season came to an abrupt end after he suffered a torn ACL in practice late October. It's the same knee and same injury as a year before and may even delay the start to his 2025 campaign as a result. If anyone has earned sleeper status, it's Stephens. Fellow TE Princton Fant has the inside track on TE4 if such a roster spot is made. And new undrafted rookie free agents Rivaldo Fairweather and Tyler Neville have the years of controllability working in their favor. But it's Stephens who makes the plays downfield others don't. It's Stephens who already has a relationship with Dak Prescott and it's Stephens who Brian Schottenheimer is most familiar. Stephens may never be a do-everything every down TE but he's a situational weapon who's able to shine downfield as a pass catcher. If he can get a clean bill of health and be a full participant in training camp, he's the sleeper to watch from the TE position in 2025 You can follow Reid on X @ReidDHanson and be sure to follow Cowboys Wire on Facebook to join in on the conversation with fellow fans!

Nebraska linebacker ranked as one of the Big Ten's best
Nebraska football linebacker Marques Watson-Trent was named one of the top-graded linebackers in the Big Ten, according to Pro Football Focus. Trent comes to Nebraska after putting together a productive three years at Georgia Southern. He was the 2024 Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year and recorded three seasons of 100-plus tackles. The 2024 season was just another instance of his production. He tallied 120 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and one pass breakup. This was similar to his production overall. At Georgia Southern, he recorded 365 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, six sacks, two interceptions, and six forced fumbles. Pro Football Focus had him with an 80.9 grade. This was second to Oregon's Bryce Boettcher. It will be fascinating to see what he will be able to do in the Huskers' defense. There is no doubt that he is an explosive defender and a consistent playmaker.
