Heisman winner predicts Georgia to lose three regular season games in 2025
Heisman winner predicts Georgia to lose three regular season games in 2025
Former Alabama Crimson Tide running back and FOX Sports college football analyst Mark Ingram is not high on the Georgia Bulldogs entering the 2025 college football season. Ingram thinks that Georgia will have a disappointing season.
"We own the Dawgs!" said Ingram on "The Triple Option" podcast after predicting that Georgia would lose their first game of the season at home against Alabama. The podcast features former Florida and Ohio State coach Urban Meyer and fellow FOX college football analyst Rob Stone. Ingram also went on to predict that Georgia will lose to the Texas Longhorns and Florida Gators. Georgia's 2025 win total is set at 9 and 1/2 wins and Ingram, who won the Heisman in 2009, is taking the under.
If Georgia wins just nine games, then the Bulldogs would be unlikely to advance to the SEC championship (three conference losses) or the College Football Playoff. The only team with three losses to make the 2024-2025 playoff was the Clemson Tigers, but Clemson won the ACC championship, so they received an automatic playoff berth.
Ingram thinks there's a possibility Georgia will win one of three games against Alabama, Florida or Texas, but with Georgia breaking in a new starting quarterback in Gunner Stockton he is not as optimistic for the Bulldogs' 2025 season.

ESPN's College GameDay announces Week 1 location: Where Nick Saban, Lee Corso will be
ESPN's College GameDay announces Week 1 location: Where Nick Saban, Lee Corso will be ESPN's 'College GameDay' has announced where Nick Saban and crew will be during Week 1 of the 2025 college football season for Lee Corso's grand sendoff. Given that Corso announced his retirement back in April, it's not much of a surprise where the legendary fixture on fall Saturdays will make his final headgear selection. Saban, host Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee will accompany Corso to Columbus, Ohio, for the Aug. 30 matchup between Texas and Ohio State. Corso's first headgear selection while on location with 'GameDay' was at Ohio Stadium on Oct. 5, 1996. He donned the Brutus Buckeye headgear before Ohio State defeated Penn State, 38-7, in a top five matchup. Texas and the defending champion Buckeyes are all but certain to be ranked in the top five in the preseason polls entering the 2025 season. The Texas vs. Ohio State clash was chosen by 'GameDay' over Doak Campbell Stadium for Alabama's season opener at Florida State (2:30 p.m. CT, ABC). Corso played for the Seminoles from 1953-56. Clemson vs. LSU at Clemson Memorial Stadium was another destination some thought ESPN might choose since Texas-Ohio State will be airing on Fox. According to ESPN, Corso is 286-144 overall in his 430 headgear selections. He's worn the Brutus Buckeye headgear 45 times in those selections, followed by the Big Al headgear 38 times while picking Alabama. Ohio State has hosted 'GameDay' 26 times overall, the most of any school. Alabama is second on the list, having hosted 19 times. For Saban, who won a Sports Emmy for his work as an analyst on 'GameDay,' it will mark the beginning of his second full season with the ESPN crew. ESPN names Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass one of the top 25 plays in football since 2000
One of the more famous plays in the history of Nebraska football was recently named one of college football's greatest moments of the last two decades. ESPN ranked college football's top 25 plays since 2000, and at No. 21 on the list was "Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass" from the Huskers' 20-10 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners on Oct. 27, 2001. Eight ESPN writers and two editors nominated fifty-one plays, and that list was whittled down to 25 plays. The eight writers then ranked the moments from 1 to 25, with 25 points awarded for the top play, 24 for second place, and so on, until play No. 25. Advertisement With the No. 3-ranked Cornhuskers leading the No. 2-ranked Sooners 13-10 in the fourth quarter and the ball at its own 37-yard line, head coach Frank Solich called Black 41 Flash Reverse Pass. ESPN described the play in detail. "His heroics mostly came from running the option, but on this play against Oklahoma, Crouch handed off the ball, peeled out into the flat and up the field as a receiver. The original ball carrier, Thunder Collins, handed it to Mike Stuntz on a reverse, and he hit Crouch sprinting down the sideline for a 63-yard touchdown." Nebraska would go on to win the game 20-10, and Eric Crouch would win the Heisman Trophy in one of the closest votes in the award's history. Crouch beat Florida sophomore quarterback Rex Grossman 770 points to 708 votes. Crouch's 770 points are the fewest by a Heisman winner since Terry Baker won the award in 1962 with 707 points. Joining Crouch and Grossman at the Downtown Athletic Club that year were Miami quarterback Ken Dorsey and Oregon quarterback Joey Harrington. Advertisement Watch the famous play below. Lindy's Sports ranks Florida inside preseason top 15, Lagway a top-10 QB
Lindy's Sports ranks Florida inside preseason top 15, Lagway a top-10 QB With the college sports world shifting its attention back to football as the summer gets underway, Florida remains a preseason top-25 program, largely thanks to the hype that follows sophomore quarterback DJ Lagway. A week ago, Lindy's Sports released its highly respected preseason edition, and the Gators check in at No. 15 with a clear path to the College Football Playoff. While SEC bias might be a real thing with national media coverage of college sports, Florida's top-ranked strength of schedule and strong finish to the 2024 campaign warrant this kind of preseason rankings. Lagway is indeed one of the top signal callers in his class, and the Orange and Blue pulled off several upset wins with him under center as a relatively inexperienced true freshman. Lindy's has him ranked No. 7 among college quarterbacks entering the season, behind players such as Carson Beck (Miami), Arch Manning (Texas), and Garrett Nussmeier (LSU). The Gators will have plenty of chances to prove they belong inside the top 15, too. Lindy's ranked the three teams listed above are inside the top 10, and they're all on Florida's schedule. After starting the season with home games against LIU and South Florida, UF heads to Baton Rouge and Miami Gardens to face No. 5 LSU and No. 10 Miami in back-to-back weeks. Then it's back to The Swamp against top-ranked Texas, featuring Manning and Co. Texas A&M and Mississippi State are both outside the top 25, with the latter being the lowest-ranked SEC team at No. 84 out of 136 teams. No. 9 Georgia is next on Florida's schedule, followed by road games at Kentucky and No. 19 Ole Miss. Neither Tennessee nor Florida State is ranked inside Lindy's preseason top 25, but a lot can change between now and November.
