Esteemed SBS presenter Karla Grant gets tattoo to prove her love to Married At First Sight star boyfriend Nasser Sultan - but all is not what it seems

Daily Mail11-05-2025

Nasser Sultan 's romance with Karla Grant is going from strength to strength.
The Married At First Sight star and his SBS journalist love headed to a tattoo parlour to immortalise their romance in ink.
The reality star bragged that his girlfriend was showing him 'love' by getting 'In Nasser We Trust' tattooed up her forearm.
'If you ever find someone like this one, don't ever let her go' Nasser said in the clips which were posted to Instagram.
However when Karla showed off the tattoo , it featured the names of her three children instead.
'I've been stitched up!' Nasser wrote, before joking, 'You're dumped!' as the two left the parlour.
Nasser proudly debuted his blossoming romance with the esteemed journalist in recent months.
The unlikely couple looked absolutely smitten as they stepped out together just weeks ago.
In photos taken at Sydney 's NIDA Theatre, the lovebirds made a dazzling entrance as they strutted hand-in-hand down the red carpet.
Karla, 60, stunned in a flowing, tie-dye silk maxi dress in shades of coral and white, which featured a plunging neckline and flared sleeves.
She paired the striking look with clear-strap stilettos, wore her honey-blonde locks in glamorous loose waves, and opted for a soft, glowing makeup look featuring glossy nude lips and bronzed cheeks.
Meanwhile, Nasser, 56, looked every inch the proud boyfriend, flashing a wide grin as he rocked a short-sleeve powder blue shirt, slim black trousers, and matching black shoes.
He accessorised with a chunky gold watch, bracelet, and a pendant necklace.
The couple couldn't keep their hands off each other as they posed together in front of a giant white throne chair and the event's sponsor wall.
In one playful moment, Karla was even seen sitting on Nasser's lap, laughing as he wrapped a protective arm around her waist.
Their affectionate display comes after Daily Mail Australia revealed in February that Nasser and Karla had been quietly dating for several months after reconnecting at a party last year.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia Nasser said, 'We've known each other for four years, to be honest. Then we just reconnected at a party and fell in love.
'That was it. It was like love at first sight - just not Married At First Sight!'
Gushing about his girlfriend, Nasser added, 'She's gentle, smart, elegant, very well-educated, respected in the industry. And she's not fake. And she's not on Instagram.'
Indeed, while Nasser has often courted publicity since starring on MAFS back in 2018, Karla is renowned for her serious work as a presenter and producer for SBS's Indigenous current affairs program, Living Black, and largely shuns the spotlight.
The romance between the Walkley Award-winning journalist and the self-confessed reality TV 'troublemaker' may seem unexpected, but Karla herself said it best in a rare public statement:
'Nasser is one of a kind. He's attentive, caring and thoughtful and I see how he is with those who are closest to him. He's always helping his friends.'
She continued, 'Our union was very unexpected, but it is growing into something very special.'
The relationship marks a fresh chapter for Karla, who was previously married to journalist and broadcaster Stan Grant for 16 years before they split in 2000.
Stan famously left Karla for his Seven Network colleague Tracey Holmes, leading to one of the biggest media scandals of the decade.
Meanwhile, Nasser has continued to make headlines in his own right over the years - from pulling cheeky publicity stunts to faking romances for tabloid attention.
But insiders say his romance with Karla is '100 per cent genuine' and not just another ploy for the cameras.
The fact that Nasser, a man who once said, 'write whatever you want about me so long as you write about me,' has kept their relationship low-key until now, speaks volumes.
'I credit her for making me calm. I'm still a troublemaker - don't worry about that' he said.
'And yeah, it's just blown me away, seriously, how this whole thing's happened'.

Controversial family's reality show AXED after being slated by critics and sparking swathes of viewer complaints

A controversial family's reality show has been cancelled after being slated by critics and sparking swathes of viewer complaints. Meet The Rees-Moggs, which hit our screens on Discovery+ in December last year, follows the life of British politician Jacob Rees-Moggs, wife Helena and their kids Mary, Peter, Thomas, Anselm, Alfred and Sixtus. After just one series, it has been confirmed that the show won't be returning. A TV insider told The Sun: 'Although the critics seemed to lap up the ridiculousness of the show, it didn't quite get the response from audiences they had hoped for. 'Though it was easy to see how the series could run and run, the feeling among the execs was this should be a one-off capturing of a moment in time, namely the last general election.' MailOnline has contacted Discovery+ for comment. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. The show's IMDB synopsis reads: 'Unprecedented access to Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg, and his extraordinary family as he fights for his political life and fails to keep his seat. 'Can the Rees-Moggs cope with life in the political wilderness?' Many rushed to the website to share their thoughts on the programme, with admitting that they are not a fan of it. 'Can't believe I watched all five episodes.' 'Why??' 'I'd much rather watch someone fold their socks and gently pick their nasal hair then this rubbish.' Meanwhile others were actually a fan of the series. 'Brilliant!' Controversial family's reality show AXED after being slated by critics and sparking swathes of viewer complaints 'I absolutely loved this. I don't agree with Jacob on everything but I found him endearing and quirky.' Jacob started his investment portfolio at the age of ten, dragged his life-long nanny around with him on political campaigns and has even been dubbed a 'sex god' by Made in Chelsea 's Georgia Toffolo. Former Conservative MP for North East Somerset, husband and father-of-six Sir Jacob Rees-Mogg clearly thought his life was interesting enough to warrant a Kardashian-esque TV series documenting it. But critics who suffered through the show on Discovery+ have dubbed it 'boring, vapid and unfair on the kids' and said even those who want to 'hate-watch' will be 'disappointed'. However, among the storm of disapproval there are some cheers for the GB News presenter's wife and heir to a £45million fortune, Helena. The Independent's Nick Hilton said the show entered 'murkier ethical grounds' when it showed Rees-Mogg's sons, Anselm, 12, Alfred, 8, and Sixtus, 7, shouting 'Vote Conservative!' down a megaphone and dressing up in black tie to eat birthday cake. He asked if the children, 'innocent of their own privilege still', would come to 'regret their part in propagandising for the silver spoon brigade' and said he feels it's 'not fair' on them as 'non-consenting participants'. Nick rounded up his review by writing: 'Those expecting a hate-watch will be disappointed; those expecting a political hagiography will find it vapid.' Meanwhile, Rachel Cook from The New Statesman, who attended the press screening, said she 'found it hard to laugh' along with other journalists at parts that were clearly meant to be funny. Explaining her 'stony face', she said: 'This TV show, however risible it may be, is nevertheless still a reward for Rees-Mogg's role in the huge and multifarious political failures of the last decade, as well as for his facile, not to say toxic, contribution to the public discourse.' Over at The Standard, Martin Robson said the 'fairly humdrum world we are given access to' is 'very different to The Kardashians'. He called the show 'a pushover' and 'a disappointment' for its focus on 'showing Rees-Mogg as a classic British twit' instead of 'digging into what makes him one of the country's most controversial politicians'. Martin criticised the show's lack of 'teeth', 'access' and 'drama', labelling the politician as 'just not that interesting'. The first episode commences with Jacob Rees-Mogg declaring: 'I think this will be a different kettle of fish to The Kardashians.' But The Telegraph's Anita Singh disagrees, writing: 'The longer you watch, the more you realise that he has more in common with Kim Kardashian than he would admit. 'Both thrive on attention and publicity, and their image is carefully cultivated: a sex bomb in Kardashian's case, an eccentric toff in Rees-Mogg's.' Elsewhere, Chloe Govan from The Express said the politician is 'possibly' out of touch but called it 'compelling viewing' otherwise. The series was set to document Rees-Mogg and family during the lead up to an Autumn election but former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak called it on early, leaving them scraping the barrel for content The family were left scraping the barrel for content after their father lost his seat to Labour MP Dan Norris whilst stood next to a man in a baked bean balaclava from the Monster Raving Loony Party. The shows opening statement asked: 'How will the family adjust to life after politics?' To which Scott Bryan over at Yahoo! News said: 'I can't know for sure, but has this been a question that anyone has asked? Is anyone being kept up at night wondering how the former Conservative MP for North East Somerset and his family will adjust to a life after politics?' After watching the first two episodes, Scott described the show as 'completely and utterly, indescribably boring'. The Guardian's Lucy Mangan called Rees-Mogg 'an absolute berk' for signing up to do the reality show but said her 'obsession with Jacob's wife runs deep' and that she had 'pledged allegiance' to her by the end. The Daily Mail's Jane Fryer shared the same sentiment for Helena, calling her 'funny and surprisingly straightforward for someone whose mother has five Van Dycks and two Stubbs paintings'. Jane said the 'genius' of the show was 'getting the kids involved' and admitted that it is 'strangely addictive'.

Love Island star Anton Danyluk takes brutal dig at villa ex as he reveals why he's still single

LOVE Island star Anton Danyluk has taken a brutal dig at his villa ex, while revealing why he's single. In a new post, the 30-year-old reality star explained why he wasn't currently in a relationship, and shared a string of images. 5 5 He penned: 'Still single… 'Yes, I went on Love Island. Twice. No, I didn't find love. And no, I'm not crying about it — I'm too busy building an empire and smashing PBs. Anton then revealed he's single due to working on himself and his career, and shared a photo with ex Belle Hassan, writing over the top: 'Any time I've dated, they've needed more attention than I can give. 'They didn't understand the mission. They weren't truly supportive of my journey.' Anton had shared a photo with his arm around ex Belle and wrote the caption over the top. And fans were horrified, as one person wrote: 'Why put that caption with pictures of two girls like that's really creepy strange energy.' A second penned: 'How did anton turn from a likeable character to someone who I think is quite strange?' And a third echoed: 'Not cool using the photo of the girls.' Anton went on to write in his caption: 'Truth is, I could be in a relationship… Love Island star strips off completely But right now, I'd rather date someone who doesn't get jealous of my routine, my goals, or my air fryer. 'Because let's be honest — your partner is your biggest investment. (And if they don't lift you up like Rachel & Sharon did for each other during my last challenge… then babe, it's a no from me.)' The online coach became single again after his relationship with ITV co-star Georgia Harrison, 29, fizzled out in April last year. Georgia and Anton's post-split swipes Just a day after their split was revealed and a source blamed it on the 400 miles between them, Anton shared a quote that said: "If someone truly loves you, distance is not a problem. "It's just the power of making love grow each day." While travelling with his mum in Pisa, Italy, Anton appeared to be looking for the positives in the relationship breakdown. Sharing snaps by the Leaning Tower of Pisa, he wrote: "When things appear to be falling over, step back and see the beauty in it." Most brutally of all, Anton voiced his regret at ever taking part in All Stars. He told fans: "I hated every minute of it. Part of me wishes I had never done it again just because 'cause it kind of ruined my Love Island experience. There were times I just questioned what am I actually doing." Meanwhile, Georgia took to Instagram to share a montage about 'marrying her best friend'. The video showed a couple messing around together, with clips of them singing at a concert, splashing about in a swimming pool and dancing together. The caption said: "Proof you should marry your best friend." Georgia then said: "If it ain't this I don't want it," with laughing emojis, suggesting her latest romance most certainly wasn't that. Days after the relationship ended, Georgia shared a tongue-in-cheek video on TikTok showing her desperately trying to escape any reference to it. Georgia nervously looked over her shoulder and ran through the complex as she was 'chased' by the question "Are you still together?" He said: I've been on a few dates but nothing's really come to anything if I'm honest. "It's always difficult dating in the public eye as you never really know people's true intentions. "When it comes, it comes, but there's nothing in the pipeline just yet." Telly fave Anton shot to fame on the 2019 series of the hit dating show. He hooked up with stunning make-up artist Belle Hassan but called off their romance months later. The fitness expert, from Airdrie, Lanarkshire, was involved with stunning personal trainer Dom Blunska but split just weeks before Anton jetted off to South Africa in January for a second shot at love. And now the businessman has revealed he's 'putting all of his eggs in one basket' as he puts love on the back burner to concentrate on his career. The Love Island star said: "When it comes it comes, but nothing in the pipeline just yet. "You know me, I'm always focused on business and working away. "I've got my online coaching business and my fitness app - they're both absolutely flying at the minute.' 5

Forgotten Married At First Sight groom reemerges for the first time in years after his TV bride Belinda Vickers announced real-life engagement

Former Married At First Sight groom Patrick Dwyer has resurfaced with a striking new look after retreating from the spotlight for years. The reality star, who appeared on season eight of the hit Channel Nine dating show in 2021, was spotted on Instagram this week looking barely recognisable as he enjoyed a summer holiday in the UK. Taking to his Stories on Thursday, the personal trainer shared a sunburnt selfie alongside the caption: 'Of course I would get burnt in the UK.' Fans were quick to notice that Patrick, who once sported a geeky hairstyle and shy demeanour on the show, looks worlds away from his MAFS persona. He now has more rugged style, sporting a short quiff and well-groomed facial hair. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. His surprise return to social media comes after his TV bride Belinda Vickers made headlines by announcing her real-life engagement to wealthy businessman Hayden Burbank. Patrick and Belinda were a quirky fan favourite during their time on MAFS. Viewers still remember one of the more memorable scenes from Intimacy Week where Patrick prepared a bubble bath to help build a physical connection with his shy bride. What started as a romantic gesture quickly turned awkward when Patrick began massaging Belinda's feet in the tub. 'Maybe I'll give you a little foot massage,' he said as he rubbed her toes, before complimenting her pedicure: 'Oh, I love your feet. Very clean, I like the little pink toenails you've got on you.' Following his stint on the show, Patrick quietly faded from the public eye, switching his social media accounts to private and steering clear of reality TV circles. But he didn't disappear without making a few changes – including a dramatic $28,000 dental makeover courtesy of celebrity dentist Dr Deepan Duraisamy, better known as Dr Dee. Patrick received 12 of the dentist's famous Picasso Porcelain Veneers and told Daily Mail Australia at the time, 'I didn't realise how bad my teeth were until I saw them on TV.' Meanwhile, Belinda told Daily Mail Australia that she will be walking down the aisle for real next year with wealthy businessman Hayden Burbank He opted for a natural-looking set of teeth to suit his new image, and before-and-after photos showed just how much the transformation boosted his confidence. Meanwhile, Belinda told Daily Mail Australia that she will be walking down the aisle for real next year. The couple celebrated their engagement at a lavish party in Melbourne back in April. They both shared a series of photos to social media as they danced and posed with friends and family at the private party. Guests were treated to an array of cocktails while violinists played music at the lavish home. The pair announced their engagement back in February last year, telling Daily Mail Australia that Hayden's unique Valentine's Day proposal included a treasure hunt at the Botanical Gardens. Hayden, who is the former owner of swanky Melbourne hotspot Morris Jones, added his proposal caught the attention of the public, who burst into applause after Belinda said yes and accepted his dazzling engagement ring.
