It's the first weekend of April which, as the adage goes, promises rain showers — and that means one thing only for us: an excuse to settle in and binge something new.
This weekend, April 5-6, we have quite the exciting lineup, from two extremely popular TV shows coming to an end to the premiere of a few new ones that span a wide range of topics from a cancer patient finding her sexual awakening to a group of adults with autism finding love.
If you're looking for something to do with your kids this weekend, a Jack Black-led family-friendly movie is hitting theaters as well — and if your child is into video games, it'll especially be a hit!
And there's more! Here's a list of the 10 best new movies and shows to watch this weekend and where to stream them.
Aptly titled, Black is indeed leading a Minecraft movie — and it is spot-on in bringing the cube animation to life (including square-headed pandas and sheep!).
By his side are Jason Momoa and Wednesday's Emma Myers as they navigate the terrain already well-known to lovers of the popular video game.

I'm sorry to those of us who have been using our Sunday nights to escape from our dreary, wintery lives the past two months and escape into a world of glamour and opulence on the sunny coast of Thailand — that's all coming to an end this weekend.
The 90-minute season 3 finale of The White Lotus is coming April 6, and the creators are teasing it'll be bigger than ever — they've even gone to the utmost lengths to keep it a secret, including writing six fake endings lest one get spoiled.
"We kind of distributed fake endings to people just in case someone leaked anything, and then we could say there's different fake endings," executive producer David Bernad told PEOPLE.
'And then when we shot the ending scene, it's a locked down set,' he continued. 'So no one really has access to what we were shooting and there would be no non-White Lotus participants ever seeing what we're doing.'

Now, as Heuermann awaits his day in court, Netflix's Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer takes a closer look at the case — and the controversial DNA evidence that led them to their suspect.

Move over Meredith and Derek, there's a new ER love story commanding the small screen. Grey's Anatomy may have hit its 20th anniversary last month, but that doesn't mean there isn't room for one more medical drama (with messy romances) — and Netflix wants in.
Pulse follows young ER doctor Danny Simms (Willa Fitzgerald) as she's promoted to chief resident among the fallout of her relationship with the previous chief, Xander Phillips (Colin Woodell). When a hurricane hits the Miami hospital they work at, her skills — professionally and socially — are put to the test.

Another fan-favorite show is coming to an end — and it might be permanent. The Yellowstone prequel will air its season 2 finale on April 6, but a third season has yet to be announced.
This finale even has The White Lotus beat with a two-hour runtime, but Brandon Sklenar, who plays lead Spencer Dutton, assured PEOPLE it is worth every minute.
"I mean, I couldn't even prep it because it would just make me so emotional reading it," he said. "Even thinking about it, I get emotional."

After a successful first season, Survival of the Thickest is back with season 2 and Michelle Buteau's Mavis is back and funnier than ever as she navigates being a single 30-something trying to build a plus size fashion brand from the bottom up.
With a fun cast (hello, reality stars Peppermint and Garcelle Beauvais!), the show promises to be just as funny and empowering as its first season.

Kevin Bacon is back in another action movie — but this one has a supernatural twist because he's already dead. Now, he's a bounty hunter hunting demons in Prime Video's The Bondsman.
The action star may be used to the gore as a veteran of the horror genre, but even he gets spooked out by his own projects.
"Every once in a while, if you've just been living in a certain headspace, it'll start to take its toll on you," Bacon told PEOPLE of whether he gets nightmares after filming. "It's funny you say that because last night my dreams were starting to get pretty intense and scary, and every once in a while it just catches up with you."

Two London crime families are at war in this mob drama starring Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren as the patriarch and matriarch of the Harrigans. Stuck in the middle is Tom Hardy's character, who is a bounty hunter (a recurring theme this week I suppose!) ready to fight for his own power.

Nobody Wants This cast announce release date for season two
Kristen Bell and Adam Brody have confirmed season two of Nobody Wants This will drop later this year. Loosely inspired by creator Erin Foster's own experiences, the hit Netflix show follows agnostic podcaster Joanne (Bell) as she starts a relationship with an unconventional rabbi named Noah (Brody). The show was renewed for a second series shortly after it premiered via the streamer last September, and on Sunday, the cast revealed the new episodes will drop on 23 October. The news was shared by Bell, Brody, and fellow actors Justine Lupe, Timothy Simons, and Jackie Tohn at Netflix's FYSEE LA Emmy Event. In addition, producers posted a video online in which the actors are seen celebrating the release date by asking a Magic 8 Ball questions regarding the "scoop" on the second season. Bell begins by asking, "Will the Matzah Ballers (fictional basketball team) make the playoffs?" to which she gets the response: "Try again, loser." The cast also questions whether there will be "another iconic kiss this season," referring to a memorable scene between Bell and Brody's characters in the second episode, and if Joanne's sister Morgan, as played by Lupe, will "find love". To conclude, Bell asks the Magic 8 Ball what's coming in October, to which she gets the response: "Ask a rabbi". "And the rabbi says: season two! Your favourite show and mine, Nobody Wants This," adds Brody. In a recent interview for Netflix's Queue magazine, the former star of The O.C. recalled how the entire cast of Nobody Wants This instantly bonded. "We just enjoy each other so much," he gushed. "I know these are early days, but we're not young kids. We're stable. And I would imagine if we go a long time, we'll still feel that way. I just really, really, really like everyone."

Sydney Sweeney has become more 'guarded'
Sydney Sweeney has become more "guarded" since shooting to fame. The 27-year-old actress has been working in show business since she was a teenager but her fame has increased over the last few years after she landed a high profile role in TV series 'Euphoria' and went on to star in 'The White Lotus', rom-com 'Anyone but You' and Marvel movie 'Madame Web' - and Sydney admits being well-known is difficult because she had "no idea" how much she valued her privacy until she lost it. She told The Times newspaper: "I've always been guarded. Definitely more so now. You let a few people in who you trust ... "A lot is gone, like privacy. Which is huge. You don't realise how much that means until you lose it. I see all the time: 'Oh, they sold themselves, they knew what they were signing up for.' But 18-year-old me had no idea what she was signing up for." Sydney went on to admit it is women who give her "the hardest time", insisting she has to work hard to be taken seriously in her work. She explained: "I have to be like, I want to be in the room, I want to sit in every single meeting and want to be involved in every decision, I want to be taken seriously as a producer. "I'm very direct, I'm very blunt ... To be honest, actually, I always find that it's the women who give me the hardest time ... "I see it all the time [in auditions] where they don't think I am right for [a role] because they watched [her character] Cassie in 'Euphoria'. "Especially because Cassie was such a sexualised character - that puts a wall up for people. I feel like I'm constantly having to be like, no, no, I'm an actor, I'm supposed to be different characters." It comes after Sydney - who now has her own production company, Fifty-Fifty Films - admitted the entertainment industry is tough, but she continues to be fascinated by it. She told Empire: "This industry is so fascinating. There are so many chats, pieces and moves to make, and I find that really exhilarating. "It's constantly changing. I love acting, but being able to step outside of that and then see how everything comes together, and understand what every crew member needs and what it takes to get a project from imagination to conception ... "When people see it in the theatres or on screen, it's been a really long, hard process, but I love it."
