On Saturday night, Lalangosta shared several videos on her Instagram Story, partying at Ikon New York, a lounge located on Sherman Avenue in Manhattan. According to social media reports, she worked there as a waitress and was well-loved by patrons.
Ikon New York confirmed her passing in a heartfelt Instagram post:
'Today we lost our shining star Ariiela Lalangosta. Our hearts are broken. Your joy, your humility, and the way you treated everyone with so much care always made you stand out. Thank you for giving so much love and support to our home, which also became yours. To Ariela's family, we are here for anything you need. We still can't believe it… you were our smile, our happiness. We love you and we will miss you forever."
The post did not disclose details about the manner of death.

Rapper 6ix9ine, also known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, shared multiple photos and videos of Lalangosta on Instagram Story.

Govt girls' school teacher accused of misconduct by Class 9 students in Gurgaon
Gurgaon: Allegations of inappropriate behaviour against a postgraduate teacher (PGT) have surfaced at a govt girls' school in the city. At least three Class 9 students of the senior secondary school have accused the PGT (music), who also served as a class in-charge, of repeated misconduct. The teacher allegedly made late-night phone calls to students. He also sent Instagram messages and passed suggestive remarks in class. Following the complaints, the school immediately recorded the allegations in its Pocso register, convened a committee including the principal, senior lecturers and a Pocso member, and called guardians for a meeting. The accused teacher was asked to submit a written explanation. In an apology letter dated Aug 13, the teacher admitted that complaints had been raised against him by Class 9 students, expressed regret and promised not to repeat such behaviour. He also noted that he was under no pressure while writing the apology. Subsequently, the school changed the class in-charge for one of the students. On Aug 18, however, the principal escalated the matter to the DEO, forwarding copies of student complaints, screenshots of Instagram chats, parents' statements and the teacher's apology. The DEO told TOI, "The matter was brought to my knowledge. The school has reported to the BEO today. Needful strict action would be initiated. No compromise. I have asked the BEO to call the principal for the report of the Pocso committee. Counselling of students would be ensured." "The teacher has also been asked to report to the office so that students feel normal," the DEO further said. Parents, meanwhile, expressed anger over the school's handling of the matter particularly the refusal to share a copy of the apology letter. "They did not give it to us. They said school matters will remain in school. They should have given it to us so that if anything happens tomorrow, we can raise an objection later," one parent said, adding that she was illiterate and had relied on her son to write what was dictated during the meeting. "My daughter goes to school to study, not for anything else. If such a thing happens again, the school will be held accountable," the parent added.
