Over two million vehicles daily expected on PLUS highways for Aidiladha
In a statement on Friday, PLUS announced that to distribute traffic and prevent vehicles from congesting specific locations on the highways, the company has provided the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule through the PLUS app to help users plan their journeys well in advance
"PLUS urges the public to plan and schedule their travel itineraries earlier based on the MyPLUS-TTA recommendations, especially for trips back to their hometowns from the Klang Valley between June 5 and 7, as well as trips back to the Klang Valley between June 8 and 10 after the Aidiladha holiday," the statement read.
PLUS said highway users can obtain the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule by downloading and accessing the PLUS app to choose the most optimal travel times for journeys on the PLUS highways and the East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2) between June 5 and 10.
According to PLUS, the MyPLUS-TTA initiative is part of PLUS's efforts to enhance the comfort of highway users during festive seasons based on data and travel patterns from previous festive seasons.
For a smooth traffic flow in conjunction with the holiday, PLUS will activate the Smart Lane at 30 focal points identifiable by Green Flashing Lights and special signboards. This lane is only for light, private and passenger vehicles, with a recommended speed limit of around 60kph.
PLUS also reminds users to follow on-site personnel's instructions at these locations as well as not to use the emergency lanes at other locations where there are no Smart Lane routes to avoid legal action.
From June 5 to 9, there will be no lane closures for maintenance works, except in cases of emergencies, accidents and critical repairs.
Meanwhile, PLUS is also taking several other steps to further facilitate the movement of the public during the festive season, including additional preparations at toll plazas and Rest and Service areas (R&R).
Among the initiatives implemented are providing 26 additional toilet cabin units at rest stops and selected toll plazas to enhance the comfort of highway users, complementing the existing toilet facilities at those locations.
PLUS also requests the public's cooperation to plan their journeys well and to use the public facilities provided, such as restrooms and prayer rooms at toll plazas and nearby R&R areas.
The public can obtain traffic information and plan their journeys through the PLUS app, PUTRI, Virtual Assistant - PUTRI, X@plustrafik, electronic signboards (VMS) at selected locations, while for emergency assistance, contact PLUSLine 1800-88-0000 or LPT2Line 1800-88-0220. - Bernama

No toll for motorcyclists, says Malaysian Highway Authority
The Malaysian Highway Authority has denied any plan to impose a toll on motorcycles. PETALING JAYA : Motorcyclists will continue to be exempted from paying toll, says the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM). Responding to a viral post on social media account yesterday, it confirmed the claim was false, Bernama reported. The post claimed motorcyclists would begin paying tolls this October. LLM warned that such misinformation could unnecessarily alarm motorcyclists and harm the reputation of the government, the works ministry, LLM and the affected highway concessionaires. LLM said PLUS Malaysia Berhad is at present only testing an open toll system using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. 'If these tests prove successful, the system will be rolled out in stages across highways operated by PLUS Malaysia Berhad,' it said. The new system is expected to improve traffic flow, make it more convenient for motorists and reduce congestion at toll plazas. LLM urged the public to rely only on official updates from the relevant authorities.

Highway authority denies claim that motorcyclists need to pay tolls from Oct 2025
THE Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) has denied a viral social media post claiming that motorcyclists will have to pay tolls from October 2025, calling it false and misleading. The post, titled 'Motorcyclists Can Experience Paying Tolls Starting October 2025', was uploaded on Aug 9, 2025, by the account ebidmotor across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. In a statement, LLM said the post contained 'inaccurate information that could have misled highway users, particularly motorcyclists' and 'has harmed the reputations of the Government, the Works Ministry, LLM and the concessionaires involved.' LLM explained that PLUS Malaysia Berhad is currently testing an open toll system using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. 'If the test is successful, implementation will be carried out in stages on highways operated by PLUS Malaysia Berhad. The main objective of this system is to streamline traffic flow, enhance user comfort, and reduce congestion at toll plazas,' it said. 'There are no changes to the categories of vehicles subject to tolls at this time, including motorcyclists. Therefore, the post uploaded by ebidmotor is untrue, misleading, and can cause unnecessary concern among motorcyclists,' it added. LLM urged the public not to believe or spread unverified claims and instead 'refer to official sources and statements verified by the authorities.' —Aug 10, 2025 Main image: Malay Mail
