TRACE was a lousy opening guess, leaving me with 342 words and zero yellow or green boxes. LIONS, on the other hand, was far from lousy. I had 1 green box, two yellow boxes and just one word remaining: LOUSY for the win! Huzzah!
Huzzahs turn to ash in my mouth the moment I see the Bot's score, and now I'm feeling lousy alright. Somehow the lucky, evil, nefarious Wordle Bot guessed in just two today! Talk about luck (or cheating, I'm just sayin'). I get 1 point for guessing in three and -1 for losing to the Bot. 0 for me. The Bot gets 2 points for guessing in two and 1 for beating me. 3 points! The gap wides significantly as we push into the second half of August:

The word lousy comes from Middle English lousi, meaning 'infested with lice.' It derives from lous (plural of louse), with the adjectival suffix -y. Originally, it was used literally to describe someone or something crawling with lice. When it comes to his fitness journey, Kane Brown is making major changes. On Friday, the "Miles On It" crooner, 31, took to Instagram to share jaw-dropping before and after photos of his changing physique. "From April- August and we just getting started!" "From April 1st on the (left) until today (right) I've been super dedicated to fitness and health. I would love others to come on this journey with me," Brown wrote in his caption on Instagram next to a muscle and 100 emojis. "Such motivation, I needed this reminder of what discipline and consistency looks like. What are some of your biggest tips? As I start my fitness journey to getting in the best shape of my life," one fan inquired. The country star isn't the only musician dedicated to making physical transformations. Jelly Roll revealed that he has dropped 200 pounds as he continues his weight-loss journey. In a video shared on X by the Tennessee Titans, the 40-year-old country star shared his latest health milestone while giving a motivational speech to the NFL team. The Nashville native is a big Titans fan and the team's head coach, Brian Callahan, invited him to speak to the players at their training camp before they hit the road for their pre-season games. During his surprise appearance at a team meeting, Jelly Roll told the Titans, "I can't get on the field," but joked that he was getting "close." "I lost 200 pounds. I told Coach I'm getting a contract if I lose another 50," the "Save Me" singer said to applause from the players and staff. During a May interview with Fox News Digital, Jelly Roll revealed the biggest challenge he faced in his battle to lose weight. "Food, man," Jelly Roll said at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards. Jelly Roll explained that his weight loss wasn't just about his fitness, but a constant struggle with his relationship with food. "If you're really battling obesity, you got to start at the dinner table, man. The walking's great, all the other stuff's great, but you got to fight that addiction at the dinner table," he said. Ice Cube's Latest Movie Gets Rare 0% Score on Rotten Tomatoes
Prime Video's Ice Cube-starring War of the Worlds remake (finally) debuted its Rotten Tomatoes score nearly a week after the film was quietly released onto the streamer. Unsurprisingly, the micro-budget 'screenlife' version of H.G. Wells' classic novel has earned a drudging from critics and audiences alike. Currently, 2025's War of the Worlds sits at the lowest of the low: a zero percent critical consensus on RT. The adaptation, which is shown completely through cell phone footage and computer monitors in the style of Searching (2018) or Host (2020), is one of about two dozen films which have notched the dubious score. War of the Worlds sits alongside such unloved creations as Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol (1987); Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever (2002); The Ridiculous 6 (2015); and John Travolta's Gotti (2018). War of the Worlds is only the second film of the year to score a zero percent, the other being the Sylvester Stallone/Scott Eastwood vehicle Alarum. What are critics saying about War of the Worlds (2025)? Well, clearly nothing nice. In fact, this new War of the Worlds has recieved some of the most vitriolic reviews since Gotti. Reviews aren't just negative; they're dire. Men's Journal's review called War of the Worlds 'by far the worst screenlife movie to date,' one which closely resembles 'those Z-grade monster invasion flicks that used to pop up on Mystery Science Theater stars Ice Cube, but one could argue that the chair on which he sits for the film's entire length is both more pivotal to the plot and a more compelling performer.'Decider's Marshall Daffer wrote: This limp, lifeless take on Wells' War of the Worlds feels shoehorned into the 'screen movie' format just to harvest clicks from the recognizable name.' 'It is silly, shoddy and features far too much of rapper-turned-leading man Ice Cube staring at a computer screen while looking as if he's working through a reasonably urgent digestive ailment, opined Ed Power in the Daily Telegraph. Variety's Peter Debruge lamented the rampant product placement in the film, which goes so far as to have Amazon deliveries save the day. 'Even with a Prime subscription, you have to sit through two minutes of ads to watch 90 more of what amounts to a feature-length commercial for all things Amazon.' In one of the most damning and accurate assessments of the disastrous picture, Paul Mount Starburst wrote: 'War of the Worlds is a torturous, endless 90 minutes of glitchy video clips, military stock footage, glad-to-be-doing-something actors running through the street waving a camera in front of their faces and pretending to be scared.' Sharon Stone isn't afraid to play the villain, and she revealed that she has a 'bit of a moral code' when it comes to portraying evil characters in projects. 'I feel like if you play a villain, if I play a villain, I want … to go full villain. I don't believe in playing a villain like, 'She's bad, but hey,'' Stone said during the Wednesday episode of Late Night With Seth Meyers, noting that many bad guys are often redeemed at the end of movies. 'Because villains, real villains, really fuck up your life.' Her character in the action film, which hits theaters on Aug. 15, is the mastermind behind a bootlegging operation. Another upcoming project that Stone has in the works is season 3 of Euphoria. Her casting in the highly-anticipated season was announced in February, though her role is currently a secret. 'There is little more exciting than going to work with this team of thrilling talent,' she said in a statement about her casting. 'From the genius of Sam Levinson to the raw sophistication of this profoundly moving cast and tight crew. I am honored to be Euphoric.' Stone joined cast members including Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Maude Apatow, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane and Colman Domingo for the upcoming season. The actress has been friends with Dane, who plays Cal Jacobs, for a long time, and she recently revealed that she was by his side when he auditioned for the hit HBO show years ago. 'Eric and I have been friends for a long time. A long time,' Stone told Entertainment Tonight at the Nobody 2 premiere. 'And I actually was like his support staff when he was trying to get the job on Euphoria. So he would come over to my house and give me gluten-free cookies and we'd sit and discuss it because he really wanted that job.' She added that it meant 'the world to me that he got that job' before he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which he announced in April. ALS, which is commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a 'nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time,' according to the Mayo Clinic. There is currently no cure for the disease.
