Russia claims 110 Ukrainian drones downed across multiple regions

Details: According to the Russian Ministry of Defence, 16 drones were downed over Tula Oblast, 14 over Bryansk and Kaluga oblasts, 13 over Moscow and Tver oblasts, 10 over Belgorod and Kursk oblasts, eight over Oryol Oblast, two over Smolensk Oblast and one each over Lipetsk, Nizhny Novgorod and Novgorod oblasts.
Seven drones were reportedly intercepted over annexed Crimea.

North Korea leader Kim praises 'heroic' troops in Russia, state media says
SEOUL (Reuters) -North Korean leader Kim Jong Un praised "heroic" North Korean troops who fought for Russia in the war against Ukraine, in a meeting with officers of the army's overseas operation, state media KCNA said on Thursday. Kim "highly appreciated their feats of leading the combat units of our armed forces, which participated in the operations to liberate the Kursk Region of the Russian Federation, to victory," KCNA reported. North Korea has dispatched more than 10,000 troops to support Russia's war in Ukraine and is believed to be planning another deployment, according to a South Korean intelligence assessment. Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the strategic partnership treaty in June last year, which includes a mutual defence pact. Ahead of Putin's meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, Kim spoke to Putin by telephone and reaffirmed full support for Moscow. Earlier, Kim paid tribute to North Korean soldiers killed during the war with Ukraine, covering their coffins with flags and resting both of his hands on them in a rare public display. "Ours is a heroic army ... Our army has fully demonstrated its unique qualities. Rubio Takes on Tricky Task of Drafting Security Guarantees for Ukraine
There was a time when Marco Rubio regarded President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia as a 'gangster,' a 'war criminal' and a 'thug.' By his own admission, Mr. Rubio, now President Trump's secretary of state and national security adviser, has since undergone a transformation on foreign policy. Once quick to criticize the wing of the Republican Party skeptical of foreign interventions and those who would seek accommodation with Russia, Mr. Rubio began adapting to Mr. Trump's views years ago. He is now helping steer the administration through fitful negotiations with the Kremlin to bring an end to the bloody assault on Ukraine begun by Mr. Putin. Mr. Trump has now delegated to Mr. Rubio an especially tricky job: negotiating with European leaders to produce proposed security guarantees for Ukraine. It is perhaps the highest-profile role Mr. Rubio has taken on. It will require him to balance Mr. Trump's insistence that no American troops be stationed in Ukraine against the need to reassure President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine that his country will have backup should Mr. Putin violate any peace deal and attack again. Mr. Rubio will have to persuade the Europeans that the mercurial Mr. Trump will stick to his commitment to help them defend Ukraine without doing so under the banner of NATO. And even though Mr. Trump asserted recently that Mr. Putin had accepted Ukraine's need for security guarantees, Mr. Putin's foreign minister said on Wednesday that Russia would insist on being part of any security plan for Ukraine, making the process of creating a proposal that could lead to a peace deal that much more fraught.
