Woolworths has responded to rumours about a little known daily habit in every store across Australia.
Each day at 3:02 p.m., every store of the supermarket giant nationwide plays the song Pump It Up by Endoor.
Speaking to Yahoo News Australia, a spokesperson for Woolworths said it's something they've had going on in stores for some time.
They explained the reasoning behind the song is to let the team know to get ready for the afterschool rush, to make sure shelves are stocked, the store is tidy, and that the store will be busy with shoppers.

Elvis Costello may be done with new music: 'Let somebody else make records'

It's been some 50 years since Elvis Costello first made the trip across the pond from London to New York. And the bespectacled singer-songwriter behind such classics as 'Alison,' 'Pump It Up,' and 'Veronica' returned to his early days playing smaller rooms in the city at the Soho Sessions loft space on Tuesday night. After performing in the intimate setting at the private event before a star-studded crowd — including Whoopi Goldberg, Tracy Morgan, Susan Sarandon, Liev Schreiber, tennis great John McEnroe and supermodel Paulina Porizkova — Costello reflected on his first New York show. Dave Doobinin 10 Elvis Costello played one of his first New York shows at the Palladium in 1978. Redferns 'I don't think the place I played first was very much bigger than this, if it was bigger,' Costello, 70, exclusively told The Post. 'The Bottom Line would have been the first time. And then we moved on up to the Palladium on 14th Street, when 14th Street was pretty interesting. Advertisement 'You have to play everywhere in the end,' he added. 'You find the places that you feel good in, you know? And I've had venues that I like here. But it was nice to be in this one.' While he may still enjoy playing cool new venues such as the Soho Sessions hot spot, Costello has no plans to make any new music — 48 years after releasing his debut album, 1977's 'My Aim Is True.' 'Right now, I've made so many records, might be time to let somebody else make records for a while,' he said. 10 Elvis Costello and his wife of 22 years, jazz singer-pianist Diana Krall, are living in Manhattan with their twin sons. 'I like being here,' he said. Costello also has a special connection to New Orleans, which was on display at the Soho Sessions, where he was the surprise guest during Grammy-winning NOLA musician Trombone Shorty's set that also featured Big Easy legend Ivan Neville on keyboards. 10 Elvis Costello performed numbers such as his classic 'Pump It Up' at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. @kimmancusophotography Advertisement 10 Elvis Costello joined Trombone Shorty during his set at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. Dave Doobinin 'I worked down in New Orleans with Allen Toussaint,' Costello said of the late musician with whom he collaborated on 2006's 'The River in Reverse.' 'That's why we did that first song ['On Your Way Down']. 'We made a record together right after [Hurricane] Katrina,' he continued. 'It was only three months after, and the city was still under curfew … He lost his home and his studio, so he had to rebuild a different life. And that was very inspiring.' Costello has also collaborated with Paul McCartney, with the two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers co-writing 15 songs together. In fact, they partnered to pen Costello's biggest US hit, 1989's 'Veronica.' Although the song is upbeat, there's a heartbreaking personal story behind it. 10 Whoopi Goldberg met up with actress Gina Gershon at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. Dave Doobinin 10 Liev Schreiber and wife Taylor Neisen attended Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. Dave Doobinin 'The song is about Alzheimer's. You know, it's about the onset of dementia my grandmother was going through,' who titled the song after his grandmother's Catholic confirmation name. 'And I wanted to write a joyful song about the little last glimmers of light. So I feel quite proud of the fact that we took a serious subject like that, and it wasn't a melancholy-sounding record.' Advertisement As with every Soho Sessions event, this one had a charitable component, benefiting the Trombone Shorty Foundation that supports the next generation of musicians. Costello has long been lending his talents for good causes, going all the way back to Live Aid in 1985. 10 Elvis Costello played to an intimate, star-studded crowd at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. @kimmancusophotography 10 Trombone Shorty (left) jammed with his fellow New Orleans music Ivan Neville at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. Dave Doobinin 'They need to have the people that raise awareness,' said Costello. Advertisement But he's not looking for a pat on the back. 'You don't want to really feel good about yourself for doing something you should be doing, just helping other people.' Having turned 70 last August, Costello hasn't been phased by that big birthday. 'I don't think it matters so much,' he said, adding that he feels 'fortunate' as a new septuagenarian. 'You know, my parents are no longer with us, which is something you have to face,' he said. 'But my wife and I have two boys who are just about to graduate from high school. And I have an older son [Matthew, 50, with first wife Mary Burgoyne] in England.' 10 Supermodel Paulina Porizkova was among the star-studded crowd at Soho Sessions on Tuesday night. Dave Doobinin Advertisement Costello, who released a super deluxe edition of his 1986 album 'King of America' last August, will be hitting the road with his band The Imposters on June 12. 'We're actually gonna concentrate just on the songs from the first couple years,' he said. 'It gets quite difficult to put the whole story, 50 years of music, into one evening.'

MasterChef fans in tears as Laura pays tribute to Jock Zonfrillo in heartbreaking moment

Sunday night's episode of MasterChef called for the contestants to watch an emotional video of their journey on the show and cook a dish that represents them now. Fan favourite Laura Sharrad make emotional while standing in front of the judges, sharing that she wasn't sure she wanted to return to the show without former judge Jock Zonfrillo there. Jock died suddenly on April 30, 2023, just one day before his final season of MasterChef was set to premiere. His loss has been felt deeply in the MasterChef kitchen ever since. Laura plated up a dish of a leek and lobster pasta with a watercress and shellfish sauce, and the judges loved the dish, but speaking about her inspiration, she revealed there was a lot of Jock in it. "I feel like I have grown up on this show, and it's led to so many different chapters of my life," she told the judges, sharing that she went into restaurants after her first time on the show and tried to learn anything she could from anyone who would take her. "And the one and only Jock did teach me quite a lot, and... God, I'm getting emotional." I've come back and I didn't know if it was the right decision or not. Obviously, Jock was standing here the last time I was here, and [it] was really hard to come back. This place has, like I said, the best memories, but it's just, it's difficult." Andy Allen, who was good friends with Jock and worked with him for several years on the show, gave her a hug and told her she "made the right decision". "Thank you, I'm so excited to be back," she told him. After tasting the dish, Andy told her, "Yeah, you can definitely tell that you've learnt from our good buddy. There's so much of him in there. Like, it's crazy, even just looking at it, like, it's you and him, just in a dish." With her beautiful dish, Laura was safe from elimination. MasterChef fans shared support for Laura, and their heartbreak over the moment, with one Instagram user writing, "Oh my heart. I still missed Jock, he would be proud of you. Well done & well deserved Laura." "We all miss Jock but love his name is always mentioned," another said. "Absolutely the right decision keep cooking with your heart just like tonight," a third said. View this post on Instagram A post shared by MasterChef Australia (@masterchefau) "Jock is feeling like a proud dad of what you have become today Loz," someone else wrote. "He is showering his love in every dish you present in the Masterchef @laurasharrad well done." "That was literally on of the most beautiful moments on MasterChef @laurasharrad hearing you speak about Jock," another added. "You definitely made the right decision." "You had me in tears 😢 well done Laura," one fan wrote. "I can see the genuine heartbreak and pain in Andy and your faces 💔 you so made the right decision Laura," yet another said. Many others said they missed seeing Jock on their screens, and others pointed out it was recently the second anniversary of his passing. "My tears were flowing he would be proud of you most definitely," one person said. "I am so glad you mentioned Jock... it isn't the same without him," another added. "He absolutely would be with you and Andy, pushing you guys. Beautiful words. Made me teary." In her first sit-down interview, Lauren Zonfrillo, Jock's wife, spoke about losing her husband with journalist Liz Hayes for Spotlight, which aired on Sunday night. While she acknowledged that fans wanted to know how Jock died, she promised this would be something she would not reveal, in a bid to respect his privacy. Lauren described Jock as a "beautifully flawed man", who had publicly spoken about his past battles with drug abuse. She added that the reports of those who found Jock said it appeared he had died peacefully in his sleep. While she understands the public curiosity, she explained, "I now don't want to make those decisions of what he does and doesn't want to talk about, if it wasn't in the public domain in any way, or comments about anything that he hasn't brought up before." Nothing's unanswered, nothing's not understood. I have an answer … but it doesn't make a difference." Jock was just 46 when he died. His body was discovered at Zagame's House, a hotel in Melbourne.

MasterChef star breaks silence after being forced to exit the competition early

MasterChef fan favourite Pete Campbell, who came second in season 13 of the show and returned for this year's Back to Win season, was unfortunately forced to leave after appearing in just two episodes. At the beginning of Wednesday night's episode, judge Andy Allen told the other contestants that Pete left the competition for "personal reasons". Andy didn't disclose the exact reasons for Pete's disappearance, but said, "Due to personal reasons, Pete is unable to continue in the competition. And we wish him nothing but the best." Taking to Instagram on Wednesday night, Pete shared that he was forced to exit the competition due to being diagnosed with cancer. He had previously shared the news on Instagram in January. Sharing a photo of himself in the MasterChef kitchen, he wrote, "Didn't even get to cook for the judges! But you know what they say… 'If you have cancer, you should go get chemo. ' "A massive thank you to everyone messaging and checking in, you're all so nice X." Pete's fellow MasterChef stars shared messages of support, with Laura Sharrad writing, "Keep smashing it Pete." Hope you're doing well," Alana Lowes added. "Your health is priority, stay strong Pete," MasterChef judge Jean-Christophe Novelli also wrote. "Hope you're doing well Pete!" Beau Cook said. "Really glad I got to meet you, you're a standout human and hope to hang out again sometime soon!" "Pete! This too shall pass," one fan wrote. "You have been my all-time favourite MasterChef contestant for the positivity and cheer you spread and the support and encouragement you offered to fellow competitors. I hope we can all offer you the same in this time of need." "Was just about to message and say hope all is going well when you posted," another said. "I am sure you were hugely disappointed, not to mention hugely challenged by the life events, but hang in there. You want to get back to great health and enjoying family life. There will be other opportunities and we will all be cheering you on when they arrive. Take care." Pete made the initial announcement in January, revealing he'd chopped off his long locks to prepare for chemotherapy. "New look for my cancer/chemo era… Hodgkins lymphoma, you dog," he said. Speaking with Woman's Day, Pete revealed that the diagnosis was a "complete shock". He said, "I was concerned about swollen lymph nodes in my neck that were checked and biopsied over a period of more than a year and cleared as not an issue. "Eventually a haematologist suggested removing a lymph node for thorough analysis and this was when the Hodgkin's lymphoma was discovered." Given I had no other symptoms and felt completely healthy, I asked (kinda begged) the doctor if I could start treatment after the competition. "She told me I'd possibly die and that's when the severity of the situation really hit me and replaced the disappointment. From there I just wanted to start treatment as soon as possible and get better for my family." Pete began chemotherapy one week after his diagnosis, and he's reaching the end of his treatment now.
