After reaching a certain age, you trust a film more than a star: Sooraj Barjatya
, who captured the charm and innocence of old-school romance in the 90s superhits like

'We should keep the Prince Charming alive in our films'
While Bollywood hasn't seen the quintessential lavish love story on screen for some time now, Sooraj truly believes in the power of that kind of romance. He said, "It is high time we go back to our roots and make films around simple characters and show dreamy scenes. It is important to keep the Prince Charming alive in our films. We might believe that the youth has fallen for dating apps and relationships are no longer permanent, but I don't think that's true.
We should never give up on the pure definition of love because everyone at their core does believe in long-lasting romance."
'Web platforms should not stick to just the thriller genre'
Sooraj, who recently forayed into the web space with the show Bada Naam Karenge, which revolved around a love story, shares, "I thought the web space was only about maar-dhaad and thriller shows. But I am glad these platforms are now interested in making love stories, too.
When I have a story which can't be told in just two hours, I think the web platform is a good choice as it will do justice to it.'
'Salman is a star for the masses, but I know he is still that simple Prem I met many years ago'
Sooraj, who has worked with
in many hit films, wants to work with Salman and Madhuri again, but not in a sequel to any movie. "I would not want to make a sequel with them, and even if I were offered to make a sequel to Maine Pyar Kiya, it would have a fresh cast," he explained.

He added, "Salman and I share the same level of friendship even after so many years. He might be a star for the masses and puts up that persona, but at heart, he is a simple guy who likes to sit outside the vanity van in a chair and interact with the crew. If there is a good script with characters that suit them, I would work with Salman and Madhuri. One wants to work with stars, but I have always believed that a good script is bigger than anything else.
After reaching a certain age, you trust a good film more than a star."
Film with Salman is on, says Sooraj Barjatya

‘Really works for me': Bhagyashree shares 5-step home remedy that makes her hair ‘thicker and lustrous'
Bhagyashree might have taken a rest from the movies, but she continues to win hearts by sharing her years of experience through health and wellness tips on social media. Her ongoing series #tuesdaytipswithB on Instagram covers a wide range of topics — food, fitness, health, and wellness. Most recently, the Maine Pyar Kiya actor gave us a peek into her haircare routine, sharing the secret to battling hair fall during this rainy season. In the caption of her Instagram post, Bhagyashree listed down the 5-step concoction recipe that makes her hair 'thicker and lustrous': 'Want beautiful hair? Try this simple remedy to make your hair thicker & more lustrous. Methi: Promotes hair growth, reduces hair fall, helps to strengthen hair, and improves scalp health. Kadipatta: Strengthens hair and potentially delays premature graying. Hibiscus: Promotes hair growth and improves hair texture. Onion Juice: Its high sulfur content helps to thicken hair and stimulate growth. It also improves blood circulation to the scalp and combats dandruff. Coconut Oil: Adds lustre, restores damaged hair, and is anti-frizz.' According to her, keeping this concoction out in the sun for a day allows the onion juice to ferment and double its benefits. 'This really works for me. All you have to do is use it for 1 month to restore strength and luster to your hair,' she added in the video. We reached out to experts to find out the efficacy of this solution and learn about their benefits in detail. Shweta Shah, celebrity nutritionist and founder at Eatfit24/7, told that fenugreek seeds (methi) are abundant in folic acid, vitamin A, K, and C, and are a storehouse of minerals such as potassium, calcium, and iron. 'They also have high protein and nicotinic acid content, which helps prevent hair fall and dandruff, and in treating a variety of scalp issues like dryness, baldness, and hair thinning,' she said. Curry leaves are rich in antioxidants and essential nutrients that may help strengthen hair roots, reducing hair fall. 'They also contain beta-carotene, which can rejuvenate and condition the scalp,' she mentioned, adding that coconut oil is known to aid hair growth since the oil has anti-microbial properties. 'Hair is made up of keratin (a protein) that has been found to contain sulfur. Onion juice is also rich in sulfur. When added to the hair and scalp, onion juice may provide extra sulfur to support strong and thick hair, and thus could prevent hair loss and promote hair growth,' said Dr Rinky Kapoor, consultant dermatologist, cosmetic dermatologist, and dermato-surgeon, The Esthetic Clinics. Dr Kapoor added that hibiscus is known for its conditioning properties, promoting hair growth, and preventing hair fall. For some people, the mixture can create dryness after hair washing. 'In such a situation, especially when your hair is frizzy, you need to apply conditioner,' she said.

Salman Khan's Bodyguard Shera Owns Rs 100 Crore. Know His Real Name And Source of Income
Last Updated: Shera earns Rs 15 lakh per month from Salman Khan, but his main income comes from his firm, Tiger Security, which provides protection to Bollywood stars and major events For over three decades, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been accompanied by his trusted bodyguard, Shera. A constant presence at Salman's side through film shoots, public events, and personal moments, Shera has become almost as recognisable as the star himself. While many know him for his fierce loyalty and towering presence, few are aware that Shera has quietly built an empire of his own. With an estimated net worth of around Rs 100 crore, he now ranks among the wealthiest celebrity bodyguards in the country. Last year, in 2024, Shera attracted media attention when he purchased a Range Rover worth Rs 1.40 crore. This sparked curiosity about how a bodyguard could afford such luxury, leading to inquiries about Shera's income sources. Who Is Shera And What Does He Do? Shera's real name is Gurmeet Singh Jolly, though he is more commonly known by his nickname. Shera's journey with Salman Khan began in 1995 when he was hired by Salman's brother, Sohail Khan, to protect the actor during a visit to Indore. Sohail had noticed Shera's exemplary work while he was safeguarding Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves during his trip to India. How Jolly Came To Be Known As Shera In an interview, Shera shared that he had started a security company called 'Tiger Security', and people began calling him Shera because of it. Being a Punjabi, he initially wore a turban, but later switched to a cap as the turban became difficult to manage in public. In 1995, Sohail Khan entrusted him with Salman Khan's security. Sohail reportedly said to him, 'Hey friend, you'll stay with Bhai, right?" What Is Shera's Main Source Of Income? Shera's primary source of income is the salary he receives from Salman Khan, Rs 15 lakh per month, adding up to nearly Rs 2 crore annually. In addition to this, Salman provides him with various other perks. However, the biggest contributor to Shera's wealth is his private security firm, Tiger Security, which offers services to top Bollywood celebrities and major events. Shera continues to own and run the company, which generates several crores in revenue each year. Salman Once Turned Down Rs 7 Crore Offer For Shera Salman's loyalty to Shera is well-documented. In 2011, during the shooting of the film 'Bodyguard,' Salman turned down a Rs 7 crore offer from a security company to wear their uniform, choosing instead to don the uniform of Shera's company. This gesture reflects the deep trust and bond between Salman and Shera. First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Please keep discussions respectful and constructive.
