"Final Destination 7" in Works with "Bloodlines" Writer

A seventh 'Final Destination' movie is in the works at New Line with 'Bloodlines' co-writer Lori Evans Taylor returning to pen the new entry.
Craig Perry, Sheila Hanahan Taylor, Jon Watts, Dianne McGunigle, and Toby Emmerich also return to produce the Warner Bros. and New Line movie with Warren Zide executive producing.
"Final Destination" was a surprise hit franchise for New Line in the early 2000s, with a concept that proved easy to transfer from movie to movie, locale to locale, victim to unwitting victim. Each movie centered on a character who has a premonition of a horrific and deadly event. They cheat his or her own death and save several other lives in the process, only to have Death, personified as an unstoppable force of nature, come for the survivors one by one.
'Final Destination: Bloodlines,' the sixth movie in the 25-year-old horror franchise, opened at No. 1 at the global box office this May.
With a $51 million domestic debut, the movie achieved the best opening weekend in the series to date. By the end of its theatrical run, the pic became the franchise's highest-grossing film, with a $286 million global haul. Overall, the feath-driven franchise has earned over $983 million worldwide, making it New Line's third-biggest horror series behind 'The Conjuring' universe ($2.3 billion) and the 'It' movies ($1.2 billion).

Caricature Exhibition Celebrates the Nile on its Feast in Egypt

Yara Sameh As part of the "The Nile Has a Lot to Do... to Honor the Egyptian Identity" initiative, organized under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Heno, and involving various cultural institutions, aims to highlight the Nile's significance to Egyptian identity. The initiative includes a range of events across governorates, focusing on the Nile's historical, cultural, and literary influence, as well as its role in shaping Egyptian civilization. In cooperation with a large number of relevant ministries and state institutions, an international exhibition celebrating the Nile on its Feast will open at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, August 13, in the Adam Henein Hall at the Hanager Arts Center. The exhibition features 52 artworks by 40 artists from 20 countries, offering a visual tribute to the Nile River and highlighting its importance as a source of life, creativity, and civilization, in a visual convergence between the Nile and Egyptian identity, from the era of the Pharaohs to the present time. The event will run until August 17 and extends an open invitation to the public to explore the Nile through a satirical lens, carrying a profound artistic message that reinforces the value of the river as an eternal cultural and civilization symbol in Egyptian and global consciousness. The opening of the exhibition will be attended by a number of officials from the Ministry of Culture, as well as a group of prominent figures in the art of caricature in Egypt, headed by artist Mustafa El Sheikh, President of the Egyptian Caricature Association; artist Fawzy Morsi, Secretary-General of the Association; and artist Shaimaa Shafei, Exhibition Coordinator. A group of Egyptian and foreign artists residing in Egypt will also participate. This activity is one of the cultural activities organized by the Theater Sector, headed by director Khaled Galal, as part of the "The Nile Has a Lot... for the Pride of Egyptian Identity" initiative. Importance of caricature art The importance of caricature is highlighted in major cultural events as an influential artistic and cultural tool that describes life and environmental issues in a simple and powerful way, combining humor and awareness. This makes it an effective means of raising awareness of crucial issues such as the Nile River, a lifeline that requires constant protection from pollution, drought, and encroachment. Egypt is a top player in the field of caricature within the Arab world. It is one of the early pioneers of this art form, with a long history stretching back to the early twentieth century. It has produced significant icons that have influenced public awareness through their satirical and intelligent drawings. These drawings were not merely an artistic luxury, but rather an integral part of national culture, expressing the people's issues and the nation's concerns. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani

Sebastian Stan to Star in Radu Jude's Next Movie "Frankenstein in Romania"

Yara Sameh Romanian auteur Radu Jude's much-anticipated new feature, "Dracula," world premiered at the Locarno Film Festival on Sunday. He is already writing a movie about a popular character from another iconic horror novel – "Frankenstein" – none other than Sebastian Stan is set to star in it. 'I'm writing a film now,' Jude told Hollywood Reporter. 'It's a Frankenstein film in Romania. Frankenstein in Romania, it's going to be called.' Stan and Jude previously discussed their interest in a collaboration, but the iconoclast didn't immediately have an idea. Then he pitched the star, who was born in Romania before moving to the U.S. with his mother, his idea for the Frankenstein film, which Stan liked. The auteur tells THR that he envisions Stan playing 'both roles,' that of Victor Frankenstein and his monster. The story combines the real-life existence of a secret CIA prison in Romania in the past with the legend of the Frankenstein monster. Guillermo del Toro's dark reimagining of "Frankenstein," featuring Jacob Elordi, Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth, a Netflix production, was recently premiered as part of the selection for the Venice Film Festival competition lineup. Jude has had a busy year. Earlier this year, he world premiered "Kontinental '25", an absurdist comedy-drama about Romania's housing crisis and the country's conflicted middle class, at the Berlin Film Festival. It ended up winning the Silver Bear for best screenplay. Jude world premieres "Dracula", his dissection of the Dracula myth that is full of black comedy for which he has developed a reputation, in the main competition program of the 78th edition of the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland on Sunday afternoon. 'This film features scenes that could shock the sensitivity of some viewers,' the fest website notes. After "Locarno," Jude plans to shoot another film. 'It's like a very distant dialogue with The Diary of a Chambermaid, the novel by [Octave] Mirbeau,' the auteur tells THR. 'I want to speak about immigration and about Romanians working abroad. It's about a woman who works for a French family in Bordeaux while her own small daughter remains home. So it's a film around these dramatic issues.' That means its tone will be less Dracula-ish. 'It's more comparable to Kontinental '25 in a certain way; it's a bit more serious,' Jude explained. 'I'm interested in exploring this connection between the Western world and Romania and Eastern Europe through the story of a character.' read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha Videos & Features Story behind Trending Jessica Radcliffe Death Video News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani
