ITV Love Island star says he was a 'borderline crackhead' after leaving show
Former Love Island star Danny Williams has opened up about his struggles with substance abuse following his stint on the reality show in 2019. The reality star, who quickly formed a bond with Jourdan Riane during his time in Casa Amor, revealed that he turned to alcohol and drugs to cope with personal issues after their relationship ended amid rumours of infidelity. The couple , who were voted off the island just ten days after Danny's arrival, split a month after moving in together. Now, two years on, Danny has shared his journey towards sobriety on Instagram, admitting that he was a "borderline crackhead" as he tried to numb his pain. In a candid post which was detailed by the Mirror , he wrote: "I just hit the 2 year mark without having a single drop of alcohol (for those that don't know, I was a boarderline crackhead for many years . Long story short, I covered my pain with drink and substances because I wasn't ready to face my own demons, it was easier to pretend than to face my truths." He continued: "When most people go sober they say things like: 'I've got so much more energy now'. 'My sleep has improved so much'. 'I just feel amazing. I've got a spring in my step like never before'. Yeah all that's nice, but honestly, it's not MY experience , you wanna know the biggest benefit for me cutting alcohol out of my life?" It's nothing physical at all." Danny shared his personal journey , saying: "It's me knowing in my heart of hearts that on the mental scoreboard I have with myself, when I lay my head down on my pillow at night.. I'm not letting myself down anymore. Instead of constantly avoiding discomfort I'm facing it every single day BY CHOICE and becoming a better human, partner, son and future father because of it." He continued, "I know that it's 'socially acceptable' to drink.. And I'm not here to say that anyone else needs to cut it out of their life completely either. But running away from discomfort because it 'doesn't feel nice' in the moment, is the fastest way to eliminate your self esteem and feel completely inadequate in life. "Because you know between you and your heart, that scoreboard says: 'yeah, he always ran from a challenge' and no matter how socially acceptable your excuses are, deep down you know the truth. How are you supposed to feel capable when every day you prove to yourself that you're not?". He concluded with an invitation, "Taking control of your fears and facing them head on will set you free. I promise. I'm running my 8 week Summer Sculpt Challenge (starting Monday) to help you get lean and fit with a warrior mentality - this challenge is for you if you're done with the excuses and you're ready to step into your potential. You've got more in the locker and deep down, you know it." Danny has been candid about the negative impact his stint on reality TV had on his career, revealing that his once thriving modelling work suffered greatly after his time on Love Island. He shared that the experience did "more harm than good". On social media, he disclosed: "I lost all my clients and I had to start again from zero." However, by last year, Danny had turned his fortunes around, leveraging his profile and experiences to mentor new models facing the industry's challenges. In a reflection of his journey, he expressed: "Fast forward to 2024 and I'm back doing what I love, a career which allows me to get paid to travel, work with cool creatives and connect with global brands. It's some of the most rewarding work I've ever done in my life." Join the Daily Record's WhatsApp community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages.

Justin Bieber opens up about his 'anger issues' in candid Instagram post
Justin Bieber had taken a swipe at wife Hailey last month on social media amid a worrying period, during which fans have expressed their concern for the popstar Troubled popstar Justin Bieber has confessed to being "broken" and "angry". The singer opened up about his "anger issues" in a new post on Instagram, the latest in a string of self reflections he has uploaded in recent months. Fans have become concerned for the star's mental health after disturbing social media posts included close-up selfies and blurry images. But in a candid post today, Bieber, 31, said: "People keep telling me to heal. Don't you think if I could have fixed myself, I would have already? I know I'm broken. I know I have anger issues... I tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people who told me I needed to be fixed like them. And it just keeps making me more tired and more angry. The harder I try to grow, the more focused on myself I am. "Jesus is the only person who keeps me wanting to make my life about others. Because honestly, I'm exhausted with thinking about myself lately. Aren't you?" Concern has also been shared for Bieber's relationship with wife Hailey, following spats played out on social media. Bieber blanked his wife on Mother's Day and, consequently, she chose not to wish him a public happy Father's Day on Sunday. They married in South Carolina in September 2019 and, in August last year, model and socialite Hailey gave birth to a son. Since then, the Biebers have had anything but domestic bliss and, earlier this year, the Canadian popstar admitted on social media he struggles with feeling like a "fraud". It is a far cry from Bieber's heady days as a confident 16-year-old prodigy when Baby, his track with Ludacris, peaked at third in the UK charts and fifth in the US. He would, within five years, top both charts with What Do You Mean?, a fun and summery number blasted out at parties across the world. Fans - reminiscent of that successful Bieber era - took to social media themselves recently to post messages of support. One person said: "Awh good love him seriously struggling it's looking like Liam Payne and Britney [Spears] someone needs to help him before it's to late." As a second wrote: "So hard and sad to watch. Why are the people around him not helping him when he's clearly struggling. He's not clear at all and hurting." "Babe. Please go get help," another chimed in, as a fourth commented: "Omg men u need therapy ur case is serious." "Bro you're 31, get some therapy for your sons' sake. Or divorce Hailey then get therapy idk man but you need to get yourself together for Jack," one added, with another writing: "I love you and I'm praying for you. You're so many peoples idols. You have an amazing voice. You're a father, whatever you're going through I hope you can heal."

Meghan teases ‘delicious surprises' as she restocks lifestyle brand
The Duchess of Sussex has promised some 'delicious surprises' as she announced a restock of items from her lifestyle brand after some products sold out within an hour. Meghan said the April launch of her As Ever products, including jam and herbal tea, had been 'absolutely extraordinary' and teased buyers they would only have to wait a few days for more items. In an Instagram post, the California-based duchess wrote: 'Oh yes, honey… sweet things await. Mark your calendars for June 20 at 8 a.m. PT – we're bringing back your favorites, plus some delicious surprises you won't want to miss!' In a newsletter, she also wrote: 'First off, a sincere thank you for making the debut of As Ever absolutely extraordinary. 'We had a feeling there would be excitement, but to see everything sell out in less than an hour was an amazing surprise. 'We are pleased to share that on June 20th, we're going live with the products you love – plus, some new delicious surprises.' Earlier this month Meghan said she had decided to 'just pause' restocking her brand, saying she wanted to wait until it is 'completely stable and we have everything we need'. She also spoke of the difficulties of building her firm and 'how many tears' she has shed behind the scenes on a bonus episode of her podcast featuring Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles. Meghan had suggested the 'scarcity mentality at the beginning might be a hook for people', comparing it to 'a sneaker drop'. But she feared it might be 'annoying' for customers, adding: 'I don't want you to eat that jam once every six months. I want that to be on your shelf all the time.' Meghan said: 'So for me at the moment, with As Ever, it was great. We planned for a year we get and then everything sells out in 45 minutes. 'Yes, amazing, great news. Then what do you do? And then you say 'Ok, we planned as best as we could. Are we going to replenish and sell out again in an hour? Or is that annoying as a customer? 'I'm looking at it saying 'Just pause. That happened. Let's wait until we are completely stable and we have everything we need'.' She added how people 'see all the flashy stuff and they see the product. But that end game… those behind the scenes moments, how many tears I've shed'.

Cardi B reveals baby daughter Blossom for FIRST time in sweet photos
Cardi B has revealed baby daughter Blossom's face for the first time with an array of sweet Instagram photos on Monday. The Bodak Yellow rapper, 32 - who recently risked a wardrobe malfunction while attending the ASCAP celebration - uploaded snaps of the eight-month-old as well as her other kids Kulture, six and Wave, three. The performer shares her three children with ex Offset - as the pair continue to be embroiled in a bitter divorce battle. In one image, Blossom could be seen flashing a big smile as she stood on her feet while wearing a hot pink onesie and pastel pink socks. A Louis Vuitton scarf was placed on top of her head, and contained both the brand's logo as well as a cherry blossom pattern on the silk material. Small bags were placed nearby with the same style. Another picture was taken as Cardi B held her youngest child in her arms as they both held cheerful grins for the cute moment. Blossom appeared to be a fan of the items and held a mini Louis Vuitton bag in her hand with an excited smile. Her daughter Kulture also paused for a couple of photos as she modeled some purses from the luxurious brand. The eldest daughter of Cardi B and Offset posed outdoors while wearing a scarf from the line and held two bags. Wave also appeared in the star's latest Instagram carousel, including a closeup snap of his face. Another image showed the three-year-old lounging on a couch and looking through a phone. Cardi B showcased an assortment of pieces from the Louis Vuitton x Murakami Collection which is currently available online to consumers. The songstress - whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Cephus - also modeled some items from the collection herself. While wearing a nude bodysuit, the Please Me rapper carried a large purse over her right shoulder and held an umbrella above her. As she crouched down on an outside deck, the music artist held a smile and also sported a pair of open-toed heels. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Cardi B (@iamcardib) In one image, Blossom could be seen flashing a big smile as she stood on her feet while wearing a hot pink onesie and pastel pink socks In the caption of the post, Cardi B penned to her followers: 'It is you Miss Blossom Belles,' followed by cherry blossom emojis. The performer first revealed the name of her youngest child late last month in May as she put her ex Offset on blast. At the time, she had jumped to X Spaces to give an emotional response to a spokesperson for the music artist telling The Breakfast Club he is requesting 'everything' amid their divorce proceedings, per Hollywood Unlocked. Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset - whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus - last year in July. But it was also revealed last month that he requested she pay him spousal spousal support. At one point, the mom-of-three claimed that her estranged husband is not involved in their children's lives - including their youngest daughter Blossom, who was welcomed to the world in September 2024. 'Kiari is allowed to see my kids,' the Grammy winner emphasized. 'It is not one day that he's not allowed to see my kids. He stood up my kids three times. He has seen Blossom only like five times, and I been trying to save your face…' She continued, 'I said you can see my kids in my house. I want my daughter to feel the love of her dad. He hasn't seen his kids since March.' Cardi B also added, 'You talk to the kids almost every single day. You call the kids almost every single day. 'I allow you to talk to the kids every single day. If I allow you to talk to the kids, why would I not allow you to see the kids?' The singer has since been romantically linked to NFL player Stefon Diggs - although he was recently caught flirting with a bikini-clad woman late last month on Memorial Day. But the couple seemingly brushed aside the incident when they were seen packing on the PDA last week at the NFL star's kids football camp in Maryland. While on the field together, the pair were spotted cozying up and also shared a sweet kiss. It came not long after exclusively learned that her ex Offset made a shock decision in their divorce proceedings - and has now requested spousal support. She also claimed that their split came after she was traumatized 'waking up each day' to stories of Offset allegedly cheating on her. The rapper explained that she also began therapy due to having 'frequent headaches' and was 'literally losing my mind.' On X Spaces, Cardi B said: 'I gave chances after chances after chances after chances. 'If I was still there [in that marriage], I was going to end up going to jail because I was going to end up killing him. Seriously, with my own bare hands, because it was getting too much.' She added, 'My baby came out five pounds because I couldn't eat because I was so depressed because of the lies and the constant drama. 'This is more than the cheating. It's just like the constant lies, the gaslighting - it was really messing with my head.' Offset has also previously accused Cardi B of cheating on him, but she said, 'I was married for seven years. I was faithful for seven years. Before that, I was engaged for three years.' The star additionally expressed to her fans, 'We did help each other with our jobs. But it's like, you're helping me, but you're destroying me at the same time. You gotta go. You become a liability to my work, you gotta go.' The singer has been keeping busy and recently made an appearance at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Celebration in Los Angeles. She was honored with the ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award and wowed in a snakeskin-patterned dress with a plunging neckline on the front. Her dark locks were parted in the middle and flowed down straight past her shoulders. For a final touch, she added large earrings as well as flashy rings on each of her hands.
