Ministry vows to fix ‘inefficient' IC process
Its Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail (pic), said he respected the EAIC's findings and stressed that the Home Ministry and its agencies prioritise public convenience.
'I should also mention that there have been cases where applications from citizens were either unsuccessful or rejected outright due to forged documents,' he added yesterday after officiating the ministry's Kampung Angkat Madani (Madani adopted village initiative) launch ceremony at SK Kampung Pangkalan Abai here.
Saifuddin Nasution said NRD has a clear, efficient and uncompromising policy when it comes to verifying the authenticity of documents, Bernama reported.
However, he said he is open to improving the process if there are areas that can be enhanced.

The project aligns with the MADANI principle's prosperity element, requiring collaboration between federal, state, and private sectors. Shamsul Azri added that MRL is working with various stakeholders to create an efficient rail ecosystem and generate local job opportunities. The ECRL is expected to enhance business activities, economic growth, and connectivity between Peninsular Malaysia's East and West Coasts.
