Experts reveal how you could win Tuesday's £208,000,000 EuroMillions jackpot

People who play the EuroMillions are looking forward to a chance to win the biggest jackpot the UK has ever seen.
The jackpot has rolled over to a massive £ 208 million after nobody claimed the top prize on Friday.
If a lucky single ticket holder manages to win the jackpot on Tuesday, June 10, they will instantly become richer than megastars Dua Lipa and Adele.
But with such a massive prize pot on offer, it stands to reason that more people than normal could buy a ticket to try their luck.
So, can anything be done to increase your chances of matching the six numbers and two lucky stars to win the jackpot?
The Midlands is the luckiest region in the UK, as more than 1,000 people have become millionaires there since the National Lottery was launched in 1994.
In comparison, only 195 people have ever won more than £ 1 million in Northern Ireland, with 408 people in Wales becoming millionaires in the same time frame.
When it comes to EuroMillions, people from other European countries also take part in the draw, but you'll be pleased to know the UK is one of the luckiest countries.
Some 46 out of 172 jackpot winners since September 2016 have been in the UK, analyst lottery.co.uk said – about 26%.
But hold your horses if you're considering packing your bags and moving to the Midlands.
A National Lottery spokesperson said: 'Certain areas have more National Lottery millionaires, but there are more people in London than the North East, for example, so after 30 years of millionaire-making, you'd expect it.
'Remember, only around 5% of big winners share their news, so your perception of where the winners are may be based on just the winners spraying champagne. There are big winners in every corner of the country.'
Some players reckon buying a ticket in a shop rather than taking part online increases your chances, but a Lottery spokesperson has debunked this theory.
They told Metro: 'It's up to you – buy your ticket in your local corner shop, or on the app, sitting in the bath, how you buy your ticket has no impact on your chances of winning.
'The key point is to have a ticket, without one your chance is zero.'
The number of times a number has been drawn also doesn't play a role in boosting your chances.
Lottery.co.uk reckons the least drawn EuroMillions numbers are 22 and 40, and the numbers 26, 11 and 16 are the most overdue to feature in a draw soon.
Similarly, some superstitious players use a fixed set of numbers every time, maybe choosing lucky numbers, memorable dates, or the birthdays of loved ones.
But the National Lottery spokesperson said neither of these improves your chances, saying: 'Any set of numbers can be drawn, so sticking with one set doesn't make a statistical difference.
'However, we are all drawn to our own lucky numbers, and plenty of winners will say it is these that have helped them bank a big prize.
'Statistically, there is no reason why the same set of numbers couldn't come up in every single draw.'
This did actually happen once – 4, 15, 23, 24, 35 and 42 were drawn in two consecutive rounds of the Bulgarian lottery back in 2009.
Officials ruled it a coincidence.
The Lottery spokesperson also ruled out always playing on a certain day and only playing when there is a lower jackpot as potential ways to boost your luck.
This is because the odds of all of your numbers matching those drawn remain the same and will not change, no matter how big the jackpot, what day it is, or how many other people have bought tickets.
'The key is to have a ticket. No ticket, no chance – a ticket, whenever you buy it, means you are in with a chance of winning big,' the spokesperson said.
However, when it comes to only playing when there is a lower jackpot, the spokesperson added: 'In general, fewer people tend to play when jackpots are lower, which means if you were to win the jackpot there is a slightly smaller chance that you would end up sharing it with another player who has the same set of numbers.'
So overall, it seems like there isn't a tried and tested way to improve your odds of winning the EuroMillions jackpot. More Trending
The only way to make sure you're in with a chance at all is to buy a ticket and cross your fingers.
Previous British winners include those who scooped £83,000,000 in January and the £65,000,000 jackpot in February.
Other recent wins include the Easter Lotto draw, in which three people won £1million, and in April a single ticket holder claimed a £5.2million jackpot – not quite as big as the sum on offer this week, but still a life-changing amount of cash.

JoJo Siwa offers glimpse inside romantic cottage staycation with Chris Hughes
JoJo Siwa's relationship with Chris Hughes is only going from strength to strength, with the lovebirds enjoying a staycation in the Cotswolds this week. The Dance Moms alum, 22, met Love Island star Chris, 32, in the Celebrity Big Brother house, both making it to the final before Jack P. Shepherd was crowned winner. Their closeness was one of the biggest talking points of the series, as they were frequently seen snuggling in bed and sharing intimate conversations. While both parties maintained their bond was merely 'platonic' for a while, something shifted post-CBB, with JoJo ending things with partner Kath Ebbs, 27, at the wrap party and spending more time with Chris, who even flew to Mexico for her. And now that they have finally explicitly confirmed that they are, indeed, in a romantic relationship, it appears JoJo and Chris are keen to show it off. This week, the pair switched off from their hectic schedules and retreated to the countryside. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Taking to Instagram with a round-up of their getaway, JoJo posted a series of sweet pics to her 11.3million followers. 'Nothing beats wholesome & pure days like these', her caption began. She proceeded to detail each photo, with the first image showing Chris lifting her up and throwing her over his shoulder. 'Christopher being Christopher', she jokingly described it. Further pics included them shopping for sweets for her to take home to relatives across the pond and JoJo making tea inside their cottage. They also strolled hand-in-hand to greet the horses at the stables before riding, and tucked into a full English breakfast spread. JoJo's last photo was of her hand holding Chris's tightly. Describing the close-up romantic shot, she wrote: 'The one thing that can make everything better 🤍' The post quickly garnered thousands of likes, with fans flocking to the comments as they adjust to the 180 her life has taken since entering the doors of the CBB abode. 'Seeing Jojo in a UK kitchen is so strange and wholesome, I love it!!!! ❤️', commented @hollyr1991. 'I'm so happy that you are happy, that you are going on adventures of your choosing and thriving. You have given us so much joy, the least we can do is root for you with our whole hearts', wrote @sithprincessanakin. 'Missed the countryside, happy faces all round', he wrote. Their lovey-dovey posts come after JoJo announced that not only were they officially dating, but she's also calling Chris her boyfriend. During an interview with Capital FM this week, the Karma hitmaker said: 'I'm sure it's no secret to people, I am in a lovely relationship with a sweet boy named Christopher Hughes.' She also previously opened up to The Guardian about Chris, confessing: 'It's not platonic anymore, and it's been a beautiful development, a beautiful connection, and I'm absolutely head over heels for him and he's the same way.' JoJo was also keen to silence critics of their romance, particularly those accusing them of using it as a PR stunt. 'Clearly, you've never been around us,' she hit back. 'I won't ever speak for him, but for me personally, the happiness in my life just radiates off of me right now. 'Literally yesterday, I was massaging my cheeks; I've never [before] been in pain from smiling so much.' As for Chris, he has repeatedly played coy when quizzed on his blossoming romance with JoJo, but recently declared that his relationship status is 'happy'. He's also getting on with JoJo's parents like a house on fire, as she has shared Chris is 'best friends' with her dad in particular. Asked by fans during a Q&A at a dance class in London earlier this week when the switched flipped from friendship to something more, JoJo admitted that not knowing is one of her 'biggest frustrations' in life right now. I don't know the moment that it [clicks fingers].' More Trending She added: 'It was never like a light switch happened; it was just… You know what I mean? And so I genuinely don't know! It's serendipity!' Regardless, she maintains that she is 'very, very happy where [they] are currently'. 'I mean I literally smile every single second of every single day now.' Got a story? New Doctor Who rumours have fans worried show is 'out of ideas'
Fans of Doctor Who have shared their concern that the beloved BBC show is 'running out of ideas' following a new rumour that former Time Lord David Tennant is set to reprise his role on the show. As its two-part series finale concluded last week, The Doctor (Ncuti Gatwa) sparked a shock regeneration while tapping into the heart of the TARDIS to shift reality itself. In doing so, he succeeded in saving Space Baby Poppy, pulling her into a reality where Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) had always been her mother. However, this use of his Time Lord energy came at a cost – and, after bidding farewell to Belinda, the Doctor began to regenerate into his Sixteenth form. (Re)enter Billie Piper, whose face replaced Ncuti's in a blast of regeneration energy. 'Oh hello,' grinned the one-time Rose Tyler as the end credits rolled, seemingly taking his place as the Sixteenth Doctor. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. But is all as it seems? As speculation blazes on that this new 'Doctor' may not be all she seems, another rumoured return has fans worried that the show is becoming far too reliant on its own past. In a rumour reported by The Sun, Billie's casting is set to facilitate a return from another face from recent history – former Tenth Doctor David. 'There is talk about a possible one-off project to celebrate the 20th anniversary. David and Billie were a hugely popular partnership and he brought in a golden age of Doctor Who,' an insider told the tabloid. 'With the anniversary of the reboot this year, there have been some ideas floated about, with the thought of maybe bringing David and Billie back together for one last hurrah.' If (and it's a big if!) true, this would be the third time David has returned to the role since his exit in 2010. Following a crossover episode with Matt Smith in 2013, David officially regenerated back into himself in 2023, becoming the Fourteenth Doctor for three special episodes. Reacting to this speculative news on X, fans shared their fears for the show's future, with IanOTimelord writing: 'No, no, no. [series showrunner Russell T Davies] needs to go if true. He's run out of ideas. The brand is wounded.' 'The current show runners appear to have run out of ideas then?' said Squarepush33279. 'I wish the good writers made a comeback' joked and_catch_fire. 'Russell needs to move on!' exclaimed CHG3899. With Doctor Who's return date yet to be confirmed by either the BBC or its overlords at Disney, it remains unknown why Billie is back… or who she's really playing. In the end credits to Saturday's episode, both Ncuti and Thirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker were given their formal title, while Billie got a more cryptic 'introducing' credit. This has led to speculation that she may not be playing The Doctor at all… which is possibly for the best, if previous statements are anything to go by. 'I don't think the Doctor should be a woman,' she told HELLO! back in 2009. She added: 'Forgive me, I know it's not a feminist thing to say, but it's like saying, 'Let's make James Bond a woman'. It's a man's role.' Thankfully, she changed her tune eight years later, just in time for Jodie to take on the role. 'I think it would be great [to have a female Doctor] given the spirit of the world at the moment. I think it would be timely,' Billie said. A popular fan theory suggests that Billie/Rose's return to Doctor Who may have something to do with the 2005 episode The Parting of the Ways. In the series finale's climax, Rose unleashed the heart of the TARDIS to save the universe from Dalek extermination. With the energy she had absorbed set to kill Rose, The Doctor (played by Christopher Eccleston) took it into himself – causing his regeneration into David Tennant. Rose and her new Doctor quickly hit it off, sparking a romance between the Time Lord and his companion which was cut short when she became trapped in an alternate reality with only her mum and the Doctor's Meta-Crisis doppelganger for company. Since then, she has returned to the franchise for three spin-off audio adventures, as well as a surprise cameo (but not as Rose!) in 2013's Day of The Doctor crossover. Our Deputy TV Editor Tom Percival shares his thoughts… While David Tennant has shown an impressive dedication to Doctor Who (returning not once but twice), an imminent return seems unlikely. The Rivals star has been pretty emphatic that after the 60th anniversary, he's keen to take a break from the show, and to be honest, I think that's the right attitude. One of the big issues with the series in recent years is its reliance on nostalgia. With that in mind, I fear bringing him back for a third time risks making Doctor Who into the David Tennant show and robbing the series of its identity. As the 11th Doctor once said, 'We all change when you think about it… And that's okay, that's good. You've got to keep moving.' This has led some to wonder whether the events of The Parting of the Ways are still in play, leading to some residual 'Bad Wolf' energy in Ncuti's surprise regeneration. Billie herself has kept quiet on the specifics, instead celebrating her return to the franchise with a post on Instagram. More Trending 'A rose is a rose is a rose !!!' she wrote as she posted a series of pictures to her account – including snaps of herself as Rose Tyler. She then signed off with a cartoon wolf hidden among two rose emojis. Might this comment hint at her character's true nature? Only time will tell. 'Exquisite' Amazon Prime show cancelled after only one series
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Amazon Prime Video have cancelled the TV series Étoile in spite of its impressive 85% fresh critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. Helmed by Marvelous Mrs. Maisel creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, Étoile had initially been greenlit by the streaming service for two seasons. Debuting in April this year, its story followed the directors of two rival ballet companies as they attempted to save their institutions from collapse. In a last-ditch effort to save these world-renowned institutions, they hatch a plan to switch leading ladies, swapping their most talented stars in an ambitious gambit. Starring Luke Kirby and Nymphomaniac star Charlotte Gainsbourg as the ballet companies' directors, it was released to strong word of mouth and favourable reception from viewers. However, that apparently hasn't been enough to save Étoile, which has reportedly been axed after only one series. Fans reacted to the news with dismay on social media, with many writing of their disappointment that another show had met its end so prematurely. 'Amazon keeps cancelling the few shows on Prime I enjoy. Such shame for Etoile,' wrote marsjfields. 'Amazon Prime u are DEAD to me (My Lady Jane, Wheel of Time and now Etoile?????)' said suvanias. 'Étoile on Amazon Prime Video is reportedly being cancelled according to Deadline. Hard to believe this is not a stunt to attract more viewership. The show is phenomenal. Heartbroken if true. Loved the show,' commented danpavacic. Those reacting with disappointment are in sync with its positive Rotten Tomatoes score – having garnered an 85% 'Fresh' approval rating from critics on the review aggregator. 'Étoile is one of the most perfect, and I don't use that term lightly, pilots I've ever seen,' wrote Neely Swanson of the Beverley Hills Courier. 'As ravishing as it feels radical,' said Joey Moser of The Contending. Contributing a 76% score, audiences were just as full of praise, with the user Madison J describing it as a 'fabulous show with exquisite talent, a great story line and gorgeous scenes.' In April, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino weighed in on whether the second series would come to pass, telling Variety: 'You'll have to ask Amazon.' 'It's pending,' agreed husband and co-creator Daniel. Sadly, it looks as though that second series never will come to pass, unless Amazon, for some reason,n decide to pirouette on their decision to axe. The ballet comedy-drama was the latest collaboration from Gilmore Girls duo Amy and Daniel, who subsequently worked together on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. More Trending Their most beloved hit ended in 2007 with a follow-up miniseries in 2016, but fans remain hopeful that the Gilmore girls might one day return. Last year, star Lauren Graham reunited with screen mum Kelly Bishop, giving fresh hope that Friday night dinners might one day resume service. Series creator Amy weighed in on the chances of another revival, telling Variety: 'It would be delightful. We love the actors, we love the world, we love writing those characters. The time just has to be right. It's alchemy.' View More » Series One of Étoile is streaming now on Amazon Prime Video. Got a story?
